Chances are, unless I’m a designer, I don’t know what I want. All I know is I want something functional that looks good, is comparable with my competitors, and features constant colour schemes for branding. I’ll look at other designs that have already been created and ask for something similar. Hence, it is important that you can take the information I give and help me visualize what it is you think I want.

I have a love for stories, and for finding a new way to tell them. I find much enjoyment in exploring the intricacies of a tale, the twists and turns, the endings you didn’t expect. With every story comes a new challenge, an angle unlike the one before it. And that’s where I thrive, in the challenge. I can help you find that sweet spot, the right way to tell YOUR tale.

he shock of divorce removed Cristina from her comfort zone to a place required for her rediscovery. She got in touch with an essence long forgotten in order to reacquaint herself with love, validate her feelings and emotions, dream again, find courage, and welcome the unfolding grandness of those dreams. Cristina’s renewed strength allowed her to face and banish fears, resentments, and old premises that had become useless. It permitted her to embrace a liberating and rewarding journey full of surprises. She grew enough to set aside disappointments, upsets, and emotional pain from people who were only obstacles to her new, purpose-directed life. Within these pages you will find the story of many people. Perhaps it is your own or that of someone you know. Courageous people like Cristina have used the leftovers of a broken marriage to construct a new life, adapting previous experiences, hidden virtues, and the love of so many as raw materials for a new and fulfilling path uniquely designed by each of them. So, grant yourself permission and join the characters herein on their astounding journeys.

{Top:} Seeing as this book is about starting over, fresh starts, and beginning anew, I wanted to play off of that idea in relation to divorce. What might a woman want to change? If she is “stuck” in the same house, what would she do to prevent herself from tearing the place apart? She would redecorate: make the place hers, to be rid herself of the stigma of what was once “ours.” And so, she wallpapers over the old with something fresh and lively, a pretty floral pattern that gives her hope and renewal. {Left:} The name Forte is a big one in musical circles. Madeleine has music in her blood, and as a world-reknown pianist, her name precedes her. She doesn’t need fussy or extravagant, just a classic design like the music she plays.

time, money and in the worst cases, result in catastrophic failures leading to injury or death. MATT POLASKI and his band of unsung maintenance engineering heroes at the Mornington Dairy Plant are frustrated by working in the ”circle of despair;” patching one breakdown after another. They want to do the right things right. Matt knows that the preservation of their mental well-being and the future of the company depend on the implementation of a best practices program. He realizes that his marriage may even survive if they are successful! JIM CHAMPION, Mornington’s GM, wants to improve performance as well, but he can’t wait as long as Matt’s plan requires. Jim’s approach leads to a temporary improvement followed by a major catastrophe. When the dust and recriminations settle, Jim asks Matt to lead another improvement program. Matt and his crew have a tough choice to make.

{Left:}I like to use repeating patterns as a sort of comic relief, a not-so-subtle reminder that the book is a light read. The graphic kiwi imagery was provided as inspiration, so we went with it, creating a cover ablaze with screws. Stark black boxes are used to call out important details, while keeping a very factory-line look overall.

in a Criminal Case. They are direct evidence and circumstantial evidence. The meaning of direct evidence is as plain as the nose on your face. A rst grader can easily grasp the concept. Whatever a person perceives with any of his physical senses is direct evidence. If you see a crime happen that is direct evidence. And if you smell it or touch it or taste it or hear it as it happens -- that is also direct evidence. Everything else is circumstantial. Therefore, the meaning of circumstantial evidence is easily comprehended and just as easily categorized. If it isn’t direct evidence it’s circumstantial evidence. And if there’s a trout in a can of milk, we know the farmer has dipped his can into a stream of water. We didn’t see him do it, but we know the squiggly rainbow didn’t come from a cow’s udder. The nned scrapper getting his rst taste of milk is irrefutable circumstantial evidence of dairy farmer duplicity!

I CAN DO THIS

BOBBIE WEINER, a.k.a. “Bloody Mary,” is the owner of Bobbie Weiner Enterprises LLC. Bobbie is the top supplier of camouage face paint for the US Military; her face paint also frequently appears at sporting events, used by fans to show their team spirit. She has licensed the comic book she created in 2002, Tales of Bloody Mary, to Universal Studios and Six Flags Over Texas. She supplies her famous F/X Makeup to many studios in Hollywood and to Broadway theatre productions. She currently resides in Dallas/Fort Worth with her big old cat, Camouage.

Nicknamed “Bloody Mary” for her makeup work in horror lms, Bobbie Weiner has turned her nickname into a multimillion-dollar business. This is the true story of how she did it. I was painfully aware that I had to create a new life for myself. I had to work because I was desperate— financially and emotionally. The modest settlement I received in the divorce was going fast. I was living off my now ex-husband’s pension, and then his 401K, but bleeding it dry at a rate of more than $15,000 a month with just the “basics”—the mortgage payment, car and boat payments, and other expenses from our former life together that he simply couldn’t be bothered with anymore. The divorce lawyer alone cost me $65,000. My husband had knocked me on my ass, and I became fragile and broken and scared to death.

I had lost my legs, and it was time to get them back.

BOBBIE WEINER

I knew I couldn’t go back. I couldn’t recreate the success I’d had with my thrift shop in my twenties and thirties. I needed my own identity, my own life, and I was determined to make that happen.

I CAN DO THIS

A

t forty-six, Bobbie Weiner found herself divorced and penniless, and something that was even worse—identityless. On a whim, she enrolled in makeup school and soon found herself applying gory special effects makeup to the actors on Hollywood sets. Her work on the horror lm Pumpkinhead II earned her the nickname “Bloody Mary,” which would become her new identity. After she helped create the dead, frozen corpses in the Oscarwinning lm Titanic, her life would never be the same. With just an idea and a hunch—and no nancial help from a single bank in the world, since none of them would give her a loan—she launched her line of Sports Fan Face Paint and sold it to colleges around the country. The US Department of Defense took notice and hired Bobbie to develop camouage face paint for soldiers. Each success led to another, and today she supplies face paint to hundreds of major sporting events, militaries around the world, the movie industry, and the haunt industry. Throughout her career, Bobbie’s entrepreneurial spirit, her passion, her persistence, and her willingness to make sacrices have helped her turn a bad break into a prosperous life.

Poetry covers such a wide range in styles- the sky is the limit! This author referenced sunflowers in their design ideas, so I created a graphic image that could then be used with decorative framing for the back cover. He has selected sixty-one for this publication, a special number due to two dear friends who have since passed on were born in 1961. The book is a carefully designed compendium of practical advice on topics of vital importance to success:

THE YOU IN YOUR BUSINESS

Larry Patten, a well-known educator and author, has just released a new book entitled, “The You in Your Business.” The book is an indispensable workbook for anyone who owns or is thinking of owning a small business. It outlines and examines, in detail, what is required to assure that not only the business is successful but also to assure that the owner has a quality life in the process.

LARRY G. PATTEN

Author and speaker Larry G. Patten has written several books including his Champion Series, Living as a Champion, Champion Health and Spiritual Champion. He is a noted speaker on building a champion life, organizational leadership, strategic organizational development and quality systems. He founded World Leadership Institute and has served as president and chancellor of several colleges and universities.

SPIRITUAL CHAMPION

All of us have an internal desire to connect with something that brings greater signicance to our life. When we consider the complexity of our bodies and the indenable nature of love, even the most atheistic individuals must realize that a special creator must be at work. However, in spite of this strong evidence, many have difculty internalizing a real and lasting relationship with that creator. Many question the “teachings” of modern religions. Often people just drift away ignoring the obvious and loosing any chance for a more highly driven spiritual life. You may have a strong purpose in your life but still lack the feeling of life’s joy that comes from being on a journey with God. In this book, you will carefully develop a more meaningful and fullling relationship with God, based on your own true feelings rather than as directed by someone else. You will build a foundation for your faith through self discovery upon which you will construct a framework for your future spiritual direction. You will determine the partners you wish to have with you on your new spiritual journey. You will learn how to develop the personal life power that will sustain your faith journey. Through this program you will learn what you need to do to be the spiritual champion for your life. You will learn how to be tolerant of others beliefs and use your faith and belief in positive ways as others use theirs in their life. Being a spiritual champion is not about requiring others to be in your race, but about running your spiritual race in a way that brings the crowd to you. It is not about convincing others to follow but about conceiving a new way of helping them develop the desire to be more spiritually attuned.

• Discovering how you and the business t together • Determining what matters most in your life • Knowing how to balance your life and your business • How to assure success in both life and business

LARRY G. PATTEN

“The You in Your Business” is must reading for anyone who is currently operating a small business or who is thinking about starting a new venture. This book is set up in work book form, allowing you to actively work to achieve your desire. You will return time and time again using this book as a reference and a resource for assuring a quality life as you grow your small business operation.

LIVING AS A CHAMPION

Achieving success can only come when you have taken time to dene what success means to you. In today’s world with the media constantly reminding you of what should be important in your life, it is imperative that you take time to determine for yourself what success would be for you! Discovery is the rst section of Living as a Champion. This section will help you focus on each of six areas of your life. You will determine what is most important in each of the areas and nally decide which of the areas really matters most. Once you have a foundation of Discovery, you will begin to build a framework for success. This framework will set a new positive Direction for your life. You will learn how having this framework will keep your attitudes aligned with the success you want which will assure you achieve your desired outcomes. The third section deals with your ability to bring a program of Development into your life to power yourself to success. It is ne to have dreams, but unless you have developed yourself to meet the challenges that will come your way, you will fail at reaching those dreams. This section guides you in developing a personal development plan that will assure you have the power to reach your outcomes. This is not a book for just read, but rather a personal life workbook through which you will move your life to a more positive future. If you work through the exercises in this book and complete each section, it will not only have an immediate positive impact on your life, but it will be an impact that will be sustained over time. CHAMPION HEALTH

Often, we try to emulate others life styles, adopt someone’s new fad diet or accept someone’s new exercise program. That results in frustration and failure. These health fads do not work simply because they belong to someone else’s life style, not yours. This program teaches you how to establish a foundation of health by discovering your health desires, set a framework of direction by providing a pathway for you to follow and assure you have the power to keep on track. This program is not a fast diet to greater health. It is not a book you just read but rather a workbook in which you engage in real action over time. By creating positive health attitudes based on your own desires for great health, you will affect your behaviors toward your health to assure you have the results you need to achieve the health successes you desire. Most importantly, because you will be building on a foundation of discovery, establishing a framework of direction and developing yourself to maintain the health you want, you will be able to sustain your health regime over time. Great health practices will then be built into your life not just “bolted on” the outside where they are easily broken off over time. World Leadership Institute offers other books in this champion series including living as a champion. Look to our web site www. WLiOnline.com for more information about our programs.

Doctors are taught medically how to cure, treat and heal through medicine humanly, but not when it involves Demons existing psychologically. The shadow killed many leaving the evident that lead only to Dr. Allen because witnesses saw the reflection of Dr. Allen in action. In order for him to prove his innocence, he had to allow this Demon possessed shadow to enter on the inside of him mentally so that he can control it’s mind; but being as it was his own shadow, made it difficult because shadows are the reflection of one’s body. It became a challenge proving his innocence because it had never been heard of shadows separating and transforming into an unhumanized demon staggering alone.

It’s the primary instinct built into every living thing. Computer programmer Ian Daniels has designed his latest masterpiece, the Survivor Program. Able to boost the creativity and cunning, its purpose is to help a government built assassin droid, Shara, survive suicide missions behind enemy lines. But when Shara breaks out, killing everyone in its way, it comes to Ian for help. Intending to motivate him, the machine takes on the form and personality of Ian’s late wife. Torn between the idea of having his beloved back in his life versus the knowledge it’s an assassin droid under the skin, Ian is forced into a difcult position. Matters only escalate when the military, bent on retrieving their property, unleash an unstable prototype to hunt Shara down. Only Ian’s programming skill will determine the end of the confrontation and decide who will survive.

With Children’s books and young adult fiction, you will notice that color schemes gradually change as the age of the audience increases. Vibrant colors level out and become just slightly more mature. We ease from snappy hues and begin to mix in bits of neutrals and semilimited color palettes. Similarly, the type treatment can become just a hint trickier. As children begin to age, learn their alphabet, and read more fluently, we are able to ease up on the bold, simple type and try something a little more playful.

rincess Shay loves to bake! She makes cookies, brownies, and even pies, but most of all, she is known for her delicious decorated cakes. This delightful story allows the ingredients she uses to bake to introduce themselves by name (Butter, Eggs, Sugar, Salt, Flour, and Vanilla) and provide reasons they are the pastry world’s most valuable ingredient, as well as their expectations to win this year’s crowning award at the Kingdom Cake Challenge! It’s here the story begins as it is revealed to everyone what happened one day when Princess Shay was done baking and left the kitchen for the day in “The Ingredient Meeting.” This short tale teaches one of life’s treasured lessons of teamwork. Everyone on a team plays a role, and everyone’s role is equally important!

Cookbooks are all about creating a sensory reaction. You want your readers to be able to smell the food just by looking at your cover. You want them to picture the texture and taste, how the food would roll around on their tongue. It has to be visually TASTY. It should make them hungry, thinking about the delicious recipes they could be at home cooking up right this minute.

{Left:} This cookbook has a whimsical air, and plays to a younger audience. I wanted to create a softer look reminiscent of meringues and pretty cakes. Loops and swirls are created using dancing utensils to draw the reader’s eye about the cover, from the delicate cake on the front to the synopsis on the back.

I was working with a pair of clients who faced an extraordinary dilemma. Their company was about to crash. Their only hope of averting disaster depended on the right set of decisions being made, and those within the hour. The situation was dire. I consult with people for a living. My niche is creative and intuitive; I’m called upon for my out-of-the-box thinking. My own livelihood and reputation were suddenly on the line. I felt overwhelmed and replied, “Give me some time to think about it.” They wouldn’t let me. Their crisis was at a climax; their backs were to the wall and mine with them.

MICHELLE CROMER

Whatever has happened in your life up until now, whatever you have believed in, hoped for, or dreamed of, is in the past. A new meaningful life awaits you. You have the opportunity to clearly see it. I have written this book as if the two of us are about to walk through a gate into a deeper experience of life’s meaning. All you have to do is open the gate.

W here Am I E

When I am hiking on a Saturday afternoon with my family, I pause and look upward. I see the mountains and they are red; the sky is blue. The clouds are white. The birds flying overhead are black. The air of the desert fills my lungs and I take long, slow, deep breaths and see my sons in front of me. The question of what’s truly meaningful never enters my mind now. I know I am meaningful. The whole universe is meaningful, and I am meaningful because I’m a part of it.

{Left:} The Infinite Minute is about listening to your intuition, about taking each moment to really breathe life in and make the most of every moment. Working on this one, all I could think about was the quiet whisper of the wind, of places throughout the world that seem to stretch on infinitely: fields of wildflowers, mountain plains, sands and seas. So here we are, standing among the infinite junction. {Below:} Where Am I Going? is a question that takes you on a journey rich with experience and wonder.

W h er e Am I G oing?

Shouldn’t life be about more than just working, trying to make money, buying stuff, and traveling? What if there’s more to life than what we experience with our five senses? We know there are tones of music too high to be registered by the human ear. Aren’t there also colors beyond our perception? Just because I can’t hear the notes or see the colors doesn’t mean they aren’t real. What else could be beyond our earthly perception?

Both of these designs were for high profile VIP authors. One was used, the other wasn’t. No hard feelings! In the world of publishing, sometimes things work and sometimes they don’t. It is up to us as designers to find a new solution or a new set of eyes when our client wants to take another direction.

U.S. $XX.XX RELIGION/SPIRITUALITY

If we are lucky, there are moments in life when all of a sudden, we can take a step away from whatever it is that consumes our days—whether it’s shuttling the kids to soccer, punching in at work, or picking up the dry cleaning—and we see a bigger picture. In these “ah-ha” moments, some of us have taken a hard look at our lives and wondered, This can’t really be it, can it? We want our lives which feel ordinary, to be extraordinary. And once we wake up and ask this question, we begin to have an inkling that there is something more, something deeper, more spiritualthat our lives can have meaning. Part travel guide, part memoir, Where Am I Going? Moving From Religious Tourist to Spiritual Explorer takes the reader on a journey to finding this meaning in the same way that Michelle Cromer did for herself, through seven stages that connect each of us to the deepest part of our souls. This inspiring story of Michelle’s own quest for meaning in her life is a welcome departure from the typical preachy selfhelp book. Always spiritual, sometimes dangerous, often exotic, her search—as told by this hilarious, complicated woman from Texas who seems to barrel through life with her heart on her sleeve—is a powerful lesson for anyone who also finally asks the Big Questions and begins their own spiritual journey. it is a journey that can propel you to discover your life’s most profound purpose.

{Right:} I think with the right imagery, typefaces, and color scheme, just about anything can be pulled off. The author of this cookbook wanted the imagery to focus on the raising of free range chickens on a farm. While dirt and feathers may not be the most appealing imagery you’d think of when dreaming up food, I think using a clean typeface and bold, colorful imagery helps bring your mind around to the natural side of where our food comes from, and focuses on the realistic, vibrant textures those environments have to offer. Lydia Lewis owes her love of food, cooking, and entertaining to her aunt Bessie, who invited her into the kitchen during many blissful summer vacations. Aunt Bessie taught her how to raise chickens and rabbits, work a garden, and can the fruits of their harvests. She was the consummate cook and hostess who loved to share her gifts and entertain, and now Lydia wants to pay that great gift forward. She has collected and created recipes her entire life, and now she’s sharing the love. Whether your goal is to add some delicious homegrown charm to your own cooking, to throw a more entertaining and stress-free dinner party, or to start a new career, she’s got you covered. Her easy-to-follow recipes and instructions will show you how to shine in your own kitchen. She shares helpful tips for setting up (or improving) your pantry, setting a table, stocking a spice cupboard, measuring ingredients, following recipes, and more. She also shares her favorite recipes for appetizers, dips, soups, salads, entrees, side dishes, and desserts. But helping you improve your kitchen skills is only one of her goals. As the director of the Malibu Women’s Prison Ministry, she is concerned over the lack of post-release resources for women. She knew that the creation of a transitional home and training center could help these women build new lives and new careers, and 90 percent of the profits from her cookbook will go to benefit the Second Chance Women’s Center, a 501c3 organization.

RAISING KIDS IS LIKE DRIVING A CAR DOWN LIFE’S HIGHWAY As parents there are two very basic rules of the road that are plain and clear at the beginning, or at least should be plain, clear, and practiced at the onset and throughout this ride we take in life called parenting. If parenting is the car, then we must remember that 1. we own the car 2. We hold the keys and 3. we drive the car.

If you can’t solve a problem, it’s because you’re playing by the rules. — PAUL ARDEN

KAY TAYLOR

When points one through three are clear, that also implies that we decide where the car is going and what its nal destination is; however, sadly many of us parents gave up the keys either willingly or the car was hijacked by our children a long time ago. And if we’ve surrendered the keys, it’s no wonder we have suffered and continue to, it’s because we surrendered our role as DRIVER/ PARENT a long time ago. We are no longer in control. We gave up the reins, and for some of us, we’re not even in the passenger seat; we’ve been relegated to

the backset, and in some cases, the trunk. Parents who get thrown into the trunk are the ones who made too much noise or caused too much grief for their children by objecting to, or forbidding certain behaviors or privileges. But their child does still love them and they denitely need their parent from time to time, and in those instances the child driver will pull their parent out of the trunk, dust them off, and plunk the thankful parent into the back seat every now and then or on a need-to basis. For those of you looking for the trunk to open up or for a ray of sunshine to appear through a crack, the only consoling news is there is a fate worse than yours. If a parent is viewed as an obstacle to a free life or is simply a pain in the ass to their adult child, they get tossed out onto the highway. Once that happens, not only are you no longer in the car with your child, you’re out on a desolate stretch of road, alone, bewildered, and wondering how this could happen to you.

FREE MOTHER

K

ay Taylor is in a unique position to understand human behavior and the innerpersonal struggles and relationship dynamics and challenges that modern life and parenthood presents. Having lived with over a hundred foster children during her formative and teen years, and being forcibly married off at the age of sixteen and then raising two children alone while working two jobs and attending college, Ms. Taylor offers a unique and insightful view of what it’s like to be mother, working single parent, and stepmother to what she refers to as E-generation children (children who compete with their parents for power and control). Professionally, Ms. Taylor worked as a staff writer for a national magazine and later as a freelance writer for several newspapers, television, and commercial print media. After a successful career in corporate America later in her life, Ms. Taylor retired to Florida where she and her husband Neil enjoy boating, cycling, and time spent with family, friends, and their beloved dogs and parrot Kahlua, who Kay and Neil jokingly refer to as the only children they’ve had together. In Free Mother to Good Home, Kay Taylor speaks to new millennia challenges from a parent’s perspective, as well as from the place from which all human needs arise-the heart. And from that sacred place, she addresses the human need and desire to experience self awareness, self respect, and authentic love and connection.

While the title of the book often tells you what the story is about, I like to use imagery to help keep the story going. Does the book look like what it is? Does it tell the story it needs to?

Author Kay Taylor has studied sociology, parenting, blended families and personal growth for years; in this bold, groundbreaking book she explores the changes in our culture that she believes have given birth to what she describes as the E-generation—a generation of teens and young adults that feel so empowered and entitled that they often clash with their parents, creating a palpable power struggle within the family. This often leaves good parents alone, depressed, and completely befuddled as to what they did wrong.

The book on the left is a handbook, and as such, I designed it to look like one. I imagine the book below to have a removable orange flap that reveals a finished image of geese in flight below. Since the printer I work with cannot accommodate that, I chose to finish off the flying V using typography and shapes instead. It is a simple solution that creates more intrigue and a bit more pizzazz.

Free Mother to Good Home comes from the heart and experiences of an everyday parent in the trenches. Taylor offers a mother’s perspective, as well as a remedy for parental blues, helping parents know what they can do to get their houses and their lives back in order.

WHY ARE SOME MARRIAGES MORE SUCCESSFUL, MORE SATISFYING, AND MORE ENDURING THAN OTHERS? The answer to this question is perhaps the most widely studied and best-known part of our marriage and family-therapy literature, although arguably, it is the least understood and certainly the least followed in terms of avoiding the pitfalls that lead to unsuccessful marriages. What this book proposes as an answer to this question is the nearest thing we have to a manifesto for marriage and family living. It provides us with a clear description of what married life should be like. No words or ideas sum up the intention of this manifesto better or indicate more clearly its challenge to contemporary marriages than the words “making marriage user-friendly.”

I lean toward graphic simplicity. There is something about negative space that speaks to me. It’s like a breath of fresh air. Some designs just need that. Unless you are going for a packed design that creates tension and anxiety on purpose, there needs to be room to ebb and flow through

the design, for your eyes to wander in and around the important bits. Room for thought, if you will. A place to rest.

Resist the urge to fill every little space! You won’t regret it. I promise.

Broadcast Blues will take everyone back to the dress

and sounds of 1938 and relive a moment in time before TVs, PCs, CDs, DVD’s and the net. When entertainment was brought into the living rooms by radio. The stage is turned into a working radio station of the day, with radio actors, a soap opera and a lively game show with the audience.

o live life to the fullest has nothing to do with being rulers of kingdoms, presidents of nations or topmost executives in organizations. It has nothing to do with your job title, what you do, and what others consider you to be. It has nothing to do with the impressiveness of your educational qualications, material possessions and abounding accolades. But rather, to live life to the fullest is directly tied to your spiritual state of being. It is directly tied to your ability to humbly accept constructive feedback; your ability to not feel threatened or insecure when your space is invaded, when your ignorance is exposed, when your decision is challenged, when your apology is requested, and when your thoughts are provoked. A life that is lived to the fullest is built on a foundation of utmost love, absolute integrity and overwhelming humility. It embodies spirituality at the highest level.

The year is 1938, October 30. Radio is in its hay-day. The competition for air dominance between CBS, NBC, RKO as well as all of the smaller stations in the area, was as high pressured as big business could make it. This radio season was make or break for one of those stations, radio station COD, a small station in a large market.

Quite simply, this booklet embraces good old-fashioned “ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS” logic, using God’s “Top 10” moral standards as the format.

THE TEEN COMMANDMENTS

LORRI M. REYNOLDS is a faith-based single mom who takes her cue from God’s first laws and creates her version of the “teen” commandments. If you are the parent of an adolescent child, age ten to nineteen years, this book is for you.

These innovative yet practical guidelines provide fresh insights into handling curfews, poor school grades, traffic tickets, cell phones, household chores, and more without relying on constant yelling, empty threats, or longwinded lectures.

C

ontrary to what you or your kids may have heard or believe, being a Christian is not so much the restriction of our human behavior as much as it is the conviction of our human spirit.

KEN WARNER

KEN WARNER is a teacher, author, and counselor. He works in the Church as an elder, teacher and conference speaker. He has developed several ministries in the Churches he served in over the years and now works mostly with men in a mentoring ministry. His 30 plus years in the business world gave him a keen insight into how this veil of darkness has created the stressful conditions which Christian businessmen are forced to operate. Ken is an avid outdoorsman, bow hunter and archery instructor. Living in the Pacific Northwest gives him plenty of opportunity to get alone in the world and see God’s beauty unfold. I Can’t Believe I Missed the Point is his legacy to the churches he so dearly loves.

I Can’t Believe I Missed the Point uses analogies, stories, humor and personal experiences to demonstrate the powerful effects deception has had on our culture. The darkness has insidiously distorted our view of God to the point we wonder why the chair we sit in seems more real than God does. Living in His presence is the plan. Our hope will rise and our soul will come alive once we discover this hidden truth. Redemption is not the finality of that plan, but an indispensable step for its implementation. Our renewed strength will keep us on the path to live the moments of our life in His presence while leading others out of darkness. Before you are finished reading, you too will exclaim I Can’t Believe I Missed the Point.

I CAN’T BELIEVE I MISSED THE POINT

I

n the beginning, before the fall, God had a plan. But darkness entered the garden and established the biggest cover up of all time. This intruder, disguised by busyness and good deeds, has buried the essence of God’s plan in a sea of theology and doctrines. I Can’t Believe I Missed the Point strips off the veil of darkness allowing the light of the gospel to shine in areas we never knew existed. Calling the ever-increasing spiritual dimness normal, has bound us with the chains of frustration, anxiety and stress. Every Spiritual Battle has but one purpose, understanding that is the key to victory.

I hope you have enjoyed this journey as much as I have enjoyed living it. While my process has changed over the years, and fluctuates even depending on what project I’m working on, the end result remains the same: create beautiful artwork that tells the author’s story. Make the reader relive the experience through design.

Picture the book cover as a person, complete with all of the personality traits and idiosyncracies that make them uniquely wonderful.

U.S. $XX.XX RELIGION - SPIRITUALITY

I Can’t Believe I Missed the Point

is a “rubber meeting the road” type of experience. Blindsided by unseen forces we rattle through life like a BB in a boxcar. For many of us in the twenty first century our life is spent pursuing self-fulfillment. Ignorant of God’s purpose for mankind, we hopelessly grope in the dark to find an indefinable something. Hope, the unveiling of God’s heart, is the life-blood of our soul, which reshapes us into the person we were created to be.

POINT KEN WARNER

Deception, rooted in darkness, influences every aspect of our culture, families and churches. We see life as a series of meaningless events leaving us empty, weary and depressed. Calling the ever-increasing spiritual dimness normal, has bound us with the chains of frustration, anxiety and stress. As the light increases, so will your understanding of the depth of the Good News of the Gospel. Jesus has come to set the captives free. You too will exclaim I Can’t Believe I Missed the Point.
