Healthy eating is not easy in a fast paced, fast food world. What’s a mom to do when you and your kids stomach’s grumble in between meal time? Nutritious Grab and Go snacks are easy to prepare and are easy to travel with you whether to the office or in the car for excursions large or small. Pack plenty of fresh cool water too. The easiest way to prepare healthy snacks that keep you full, satiates the longest amount of time and give you an energy lift at the same time is is by packing up leftovers from breakfast or the previous night’s meal. Here’s my go to list for healthy and nutritious snacks. The top 10 listed are what I believe are the best for their nutrition, energy and satiation. 1. 8 oz green smoothie or NutraBlast* 2. Kale chips* 3. Raw snack bars* 4. Raw trail mix* 5. Mini burrito or taco* 6. Apple slices with almond butter 7. 10-12 almonds 8. Handful goji berries 9. Left over nut loaf or meat loaf 10. “Cheese” and crackers 11. Left over Quinoa 12. Chocolate goji squares 13. Small salads with pumpkin, sunflower and sesame seeds 14. Veggies and homemade dip or humus 15. Raw guacamole* or half of a large avocado 16. Broccoli steamed with lemon* 17. Coconut yogurt cup or Kefir - low sugar 18. Veggie chips* 19.
