Wednesday 9th January 2013 Dear Parents and Carers, Welcome to the Spring Term at Regent Farm. Please remember, if you have any concerns or queries, we are always happy to help. Nursery Applications Forms are available from the school office for application into our Nursery for September 2013. Children who will be 3 years old on or before 31st August this year are eligible to apply for a place. Please return your forms by Thursday 28th March (the final day of this term). Please note that all forms should be handed in to our office. The Civic Centre is not involved in Nursery applications. Applications for Reception Places September 2013 The closing date for admission to Reception is Tuesday 15th January. Admissions staff at the Civic Centre have informed us that some parents have still not applied for a Reception place at any school. All parents must apply for a Reception place for their child, to stand a good chance of receiving a place at the school of their choice. Having a place in our Nursery is no guarantee of a place in Reception. It is worth noting that there has been a great deal of interest in our school from parents across the city this year, so there may be some pressure on places. Forms are available online or directly from the Civic Centre. These forms should be returned to the Civic Centre as Reception admissions are dealt with centrally. School Crossing Patrol Michelle has resigned from her position as the ‘lollipop lady’ for Wansbeck Road South. Staff from Neighbourhood Services have informed me that they are conducting a city-wide survey to gauge the importance of school crossing patrols in different localities. They have assured me that they believe that our road should have a high priority. If you wish to investigate this matter further, please contact the Civic Centre. Help us to Develop our Grounds as a Learning Resource Please come along to a meeting at Regent Farm on 22nd January at 3.30 pm of the Fawdon Ward Committee. We are hoping that the committee will be able to support us to purchase a polytunnel, which we could use as an outdoor classroom, etc. Mr. Harker will be leading a short presentation to explain how invaluable this resource would be to enhance fun, outdoor learning at Regent Farm. Best wishes,
Deborah Ashcroft
