Required now Position: ICT Network Manager
Job Description: Reporting to: Director of ICT Role The ICT Network Manager at Regent’s International School Bangkok plays an important role in support of Teaching and Learning, administration and business development. The Manager will lead the technical development of ICT, line manage the ICT support staff and run the helpdesk: We seek an individual who is: an good communicator, knowledgeable in many technical areas of ICT, interested in technological developments, a logical and creative problem solver, organised and methodical, trustworthy and reliable, able to line manage others effectively, prepared to work outside normal working hours on occasions to fulfil tasks. Duties include (but are not limited to) the following: Strategic Planning Work with the Director of ICT and Senior Leadership Teams to formulate medium and long term planning based on the schools Guiding Statement to keep the developments in ICT current and progressive. Plan for developments of the ICT service and project manage their implementation. In conjunction with the Director of ICT produce a Service Level Agreement. Help in the revision and maintenance of other ICT related, whole school policies. Network Management The day to day operation of the network and servers including all infrastructure hardware across the campuses. Ongoing maintenance and repair of ICT end user equipment across the campuses. Upkeep of user accounts and shared file server space. Security of data and maintaining robust backup policies and practice. Monitor and control network access via wifi. Monitor, control and optimise internet bandwidth. Maintain filters and monitor internet access to inappropriate sites.
Produce regular reports on bandwidth use and immediate reports on any inappropriate or illegal ICT use. Ensure maximum uptime for all ICT services. Manage a robust anti virus strategy. Design, implement and test a robust disaster recovery strategy. Helpdesk Implement and manage a comprehensive helpdesk service with guaranteed standards of service. Train and manage helpdesk staff as necessary. Ensure good relations are forged between helpdesk staff and academic, and administrative staff. Be responsible for the prioritisation of response to service requests. Resource Management Conduct audits of hardware and software and maintain an asset register. Manage bookable electronic resources. Maintain a stock of consumables and operate a charging system to departments. Staff Management Conduct annual performance reviews for technical staff Conduct regular progress meetings Ensure support staff meet standards of professionalism Provide day to day leadership, management, training and support for members of the technical team Other Responsibilities Maintain the school’s telephony system. Liaise with all outsourced services such as MIS provider, copying and printing services and internet service providers. Be available to advise staff on the compatibility and suitability of equipment. Source information and equipment as required. Be responsible for the maintenance, upgrading and day to day operation of the MIS as well as assisting with training. Assist administrative staff with the production of reports. Assist staff and provide instruction and support on a range of software applications. Assist the marketing and publicity team on matters relating to the school website where appropriate Provide management reports to staff as required. Any other reasonable request made by the Director of ICT or Senior Leadership Team.
