Admissions Manager The Role of the Admissions Manager
The role of the Admissions Manager works to improve an international school's market position and achieve growth. The Admissions Manager will have overall charge of and be responsible for the admissions process from the initial enquiry until the pupils join the school. The aim is to secure and maximize pupil enrolment. The Admissions Manager will be part of organizing recruitment events, assessments, international recruitment exhibitions, oversee and manage 2 members of the admissions department, as well as liaise with staff and pupils to achieve the aim of maximizing pupil enrolment. The Admissions Manager will oversee and manage the recruitment for the UK experience, English Summer Camp, Intensive English Course, International Scholarship programme, Music Scholarship programme and Round Square programme. They will liaise with the Marketing officer to help communicate to our Thai community and press. The admissions process will include responsibility for ensuring appropriate systems are in place and fully utilized to allow relevant records to be accurate and up-to-date. The statistics generated will help the Admissions manager and the school to assess the extent to which the strategies employed are successful. This person will build key parent relationships and identifies school business opportunities. As a manager you will work in a senior position within the school. Accountability The Admissions manager will be line managed by our senior advisor and report to the Principal and Board.
Job Description Initial enquiry Build and maintain for as long as necessary an inclusive relationship between the school and prospective families, identifying any particular points of interest. Gather comprehensive information about each contact with a family in order that admissions database is kept up-to-date throughout the entire process. Visits Arrange appointments for parents and organize tours, which necessitates having a detailed understanding of the academic, pastoral and extra-curricular elements of the school. Organising with relevant staff, recruitment events and briefing staff prior to the visit. Host families during their visit, ensuring the environment in which they are being welcomed into is appropriately presented. Ensure relevant and up-to-date information about visiting families is available to the Head of Secondary, Head of Primary, the Principal and other senior staff prior to their visit. Follow up all visits in timely and appropriate manner. Applications Manage assessments and liaising with the Heads of School ensuring all relevant departments have clear deadlines for marking assessments. Maintain proactive and timely communication with families throughout the admissions process. Liaise with the school’s finance to ensure all the relevant paperwork and finances are in place. Overseas applicants Work with the Head of the Secondary School to review overseas enquiries for suitability. Build and maintain good relations with key agencies, and ensure proactive and timely communication throughout the admissions process. Liaise and closely monitor the performance of overseas recruitment agencies. Planning and Management Put in place a programme of systematically reviewing and developing all aspects of the school’s admission policy and procedures, monitoring the results of all admissions activities and employing appropriate methods to measure their effectiveness. Provide admissions statistics, information and reports as required for the Board and the Principal. Ensure all admissions events are entered onto the school calendar. To ensure that year lists are accurate and up-to-date at the beginning of each academic year and throughout the year as change occurs. Manage, monitor and develop admissions staff to ensure the department is professional and efficient.
Marketing Assisting the marketing department with written and verbal Thai translation. Identifying opportunities for campaigns and services that will lead to an increase of numbers. Assisting with exhibition and trade stands Liaising with the marketing department on any marketing campaigns Sharing prospective parent data for newsletter and promotional events. Understanding the schools ethos and goals. Skills Required Good telephone manner and ability to deal with callers and visitors in a calm and courteous way First class organizational and administrative skills Ability to remain calm under pressure and work to tight deadlines Systematic in approach to tasks Attention to detail Ability to juggle a range of tasks ICT skills and ability to work with databases Excellent command of written and spoken Thai and English Ability to ‘sell the school’ by promoting our vision and strengths Ability to support and motivate a team. Be able to identify the needs of our prospective families. Attitude/Approach Honesty, energy, enthusiasm, hard working with a sense of fun. A willingness to give generously of their time to support school events and activities. An enjoyment of working with and being in the company of young children. Well-groomed, with dress standards and appearance appropriate to the role. Willingness to “roll up sleeves” in an emergency Education Bachelor’s degree 3 – 5 years sales and marketing experience Preferable but not essential – experience of working in school/college or university.
