Welcome MARTIN KNEATH PRINCIPAL principal-bkk@regents.ac.th
Dear Parent, After a successful first half of the term, I would like to focus your attention on the second half of term! Term 1 is the longest of the three terms and as such is the one in which a good half of the syllabus is covered by the students; this is particularly relevant to those students in the exam years of IGCSE and the IBDP, but is just as important for students to reflect over half term about their input, diligence and performance thus far this term. We want all of our students to be challenging themselves and to involve themselves wholeheartedly in all that they are involved. Brian Irving, Head of Secondary, Rachel Perkins, Head of Primary and myself will be attending the FOBISIA Leadership Conference in Penang from 26th to the 30th October

This 300 year old school boasts of prominent alumni members, including the late Diana, Princess of Wales. We open this exciting opportunity for both boys and girls who are currently in year 5 to year 8. Here is an initial report of the school’s involvement in the recent Round Square Conference in Florida US: Round Square International Conference 2013 The Round Square International Conference took place at Saint Andrews School in Boca Raton, Florida last week between 6th and 12th October. David, Panpan and Hyun Woo from Year 12 embarked on the long journey to Florida torepresent the school at the conference. The students were joined by over 700 other delegates from over 90 Round Square schools worldwide to come together for a range of exciting and innovative activities based around this year’s theme – ‘Waves of Change’. The student’s heard inspirational stories from key note speakers who had taken on the challenge to make positive changes in the world and achieved remarkable success in the service of others. The speakers represented now world famous
organisations such as Pencils of Promise and the micro-financing company KIVA and also the Duke of York. Alongside this students got to go out and explore the South Florida environment with trips to the Everglades National Park and Atlantic coastline. The delegates also had the opportunity to seek some adventure with dragon boat and paddleboard activities. The most powerful element of the conference however was the students meeting, interacting andcreating lifelong friendships with students from different backgrounds and cultures all over the world with a shared vision of positive change based on the Round Square IDEALS. The student delegates have had a truly life changing experience, taking away inspiration, memories and friendships to last a lifetime.
