A round square student's Reflection When I think about why I’m on the charitable career path I am, I know I have Round Square to thank. After graduating from Liverpool University I decided to pack up and go to Kenya for 3 months with Balloon Ventures; I will be aiding local people when setting up their own business in order to fight poverty in a sustainable manner. Without the school and RS, I’m not sure I would have developed such a passion for humanity; just part of my role as a responsible, global citizen. - Liina Tiri, Regent’s Alumni

from a boarding student's mother There is nothing more wonderful than hearing from my son while he’s boarding and the great time he’s having. During the summer Mitsu met one of my American friends who had met him only a year ago – she was shocked to find how much his command of English had improved so quickly. Both Mitsu and I thank his life in boarding. It’s not just English, though; I have since seen him grow in confidence and positivity, especially when he speaks of his friends. -Satoko Kiyohara, mother of Mitsu, Japan

Our teachers' philosophy The children are my number one priority; the programme we have at Regent’s ensures they leave with English fluency, even if they’ve joined us with little or no English skills. I don’t think I will ever grow tired of the feeling of watching one of my ex-students in front of the school giving a presentation on their science project or on stage in a drama performance – all in English, when they joined my class not being able to say a word. Even better still, when I hear that someone I taught is taking their next step in education at a top university across the world. - Head of Regent's English Language Development Programme

What our parents think I know that Regent’s has one of the best learning environments anyone could ask for and is a huge factor for my child’s happiness here. He and his friends have the space and the facilities to study and play and I am always impressed by the school when I come in to watch him perform on stage in the Auditorium or visit to meet his teachers. I notice the school is always changing and growing for the better. - Regent's Parent

What students who went say Before I spent a term in the UK I was really shy, especially when speaking English. At first I was nervous about spending a term away from home, but I quickly settled in and made a lot of friends. Because I was speaking English all the time with English people my skills got better really quickly and everyone was really nice about helping me. I loved the trips we took to London – I really liked seeing the country. - Year 9 Student

What our students say Being in the Regent’s Business suite makes me feel like I’m already in a working environment so I know I’ll be prepared for the future. Our specialised section plus the supportive teachers makes me feel special while I’m studying Economics in IB. It is a challenge, but if I take on accounting, economics, marketing and business all before I’ve even left school at least I have a head start. -Pete, IB Economics Student

Life in the sixth form I think my years in IB have been the most amazing out of the whole time in the school. As the IB is so challenging we all form such strong friendship bonds that I know will last a lifetime, regardless of where we all go to university. Our teachers are wonderful and we can tell that they really care about all of us and give us everything we need to do well. - Florence, Regent's Sixth Form Student

in the words of our alumni Regent’s did an amazing job paving the road for my journey to Oxford University. I have since graduated from both, but I will always remember Regent’s fondly as a fantastic educational foundation where I had the best teachers, environment and experience I could ask for. I know it’s thanks to the aforementioned that I got to where I am today. - Kate, Regent's School alumni and Oxford graduate

He’s the only child for now so it’s lovely to have a place to bring him where he can interact with children similar to his age in a play environment that’s bright, colourful and interactive. The qualified teachers who run the classes are lovely, professional, really attentive and truly make every session fun for both the parents and toddlers. - Parent of child in Toddler Programme
