A
WELCOME TO THE 2019–2020 SEASON new season is an opportunity for us as an orchestra to refresh our collective voice in this, our community. The music we choose to play is our contribution to the ongoing conversations about who we are as citizens and what we want our home to look like. The world over, music plays an essential role in defining communities, and being a part of the dialogue here in southern Saskatchewan is a great privilege for us. Our community continues to change, as we should expect. Different values and priorities come into focus, and every one of us here at the Regina Symphony Orchestra has a stake in actualizing these shifts. The exhilarating repertoire we will play, whether new or familiar, and the astounding guest artists who will join us will help us to reflect, at least in part, the striking array of view points and experiences now in our midst. Welcome to the Regina Symphony Orchestra’s 2019-2020 season. I’m looking forward to the conversation. Sincerely,
Gordon Gerrard

Saskatchewan’s own Belle Plaine weaves stories, genres and emotions with her voice to create a brand of roots music that combines vintage blues and swing tones of the 1940s with classic country styles.
Three dynamic showmen defy the traditional and the ordinary to create a show that encompasses a broad variety of musical genres. Jazz, blues, swing, rock, country, klezmer, gypsy, classical and tango–they do it all and they do it well.
