ANNIVERSARY

Sweet smell of success CUPOLA GALLERY CELEBRATES ITS 30TH ANNIVERSARY THIS MONTH. RICHARD ABBEY SPOKE TO OWNER KAREN SHERWOOD TO FIND OUT THE SECRET TO HER LONGEVITY (CLUE: IT INVOLVES CAKE). f you ask Karen Sherwood the secret to her success she’d probably say honesty, integrity, hard work and the unwavering support of the Hillsborough community. This August, the curator and owner of Cupola Gallery on Middlewood Road celebrates 30 years in business. “How on earth did that happen?” she bewilderedly says but that would be doing her a disservice. It’s her passion and determination - some would say stubbornness - that has seen her reach this significant milestone and make Cupola one of the most respected galleries for the sale and exhibition of fine art and fine crave in the north of England. To mark the occasion, Karen will be hosting a 30th anniversary celebration launch at the gallery on Saturday 28 August (6-10pm) followed by a free programme of workshops, activities and events that will run until 11 October. These include a cyanotype workshop, printmaking, clay, textiles, drawing, jewellery making and more. There will also be over 60 artists in a special 30th anniversary exhibition that will include painting, printmaking, indoor and outdoor sculpture in steel, wood and ceramic, installation, glass, jewellery, photography, decorative and functional ceramics, textiles and mixed media. All four gallery exhibition spaces, plus Cupola’s award-winning sculpture garden, will be filled with art. “The exhibition cannot hope to represent the breadth and diversity of
I
12 www.rmcmedia.co.uk
artists we have shown but we hope it reminds people that we never stand still, are just as keen now to experiment and push boundaries, whilst remaining accessible and friendly as when the gallery started,” says Karen. “Cupola is a non-funded private independent gallery
which does not fit into a neat category and nor does it want to. It is a gallery of passion and welcome.”
Cupola famously opened in 1991 between a betting shop and a launderette around the corner from the Sheffield Wednesday football ground. It opened to fill what Karen saw as a huge need for an exhibition and sales venue for the many contemporary artists that lived and worked across the city. As a fine art graduate herself she was totally shocked at the lack of opportunities for artists in

a city the size of Sheffield. Indeed, this seemed even more shocking due to the fact that the art college [at Psalter Lane] had been established for over 150 years at that time and there were at least three, if not more, vibrant studio groups in operation. After graduating in 1990 and being stymied by this lack of opportunity, Karen, supported by her friend Cheryl,
decided to take matters into their own hands and hosted their own exhibition in their flat above a butcher’s shop in Nether Edge. After enthusiastically canvassing people to attend (helped by the promise of free alcohol) they filled the flat, sold some work and ultimately sowed the seeds for what was to come. “I thought maybe there was a market for this kind of thing but there was no funding available, nothing form the Arts Council,” says Karen. “The bank patted me on the head and told me to do away. I thought I couldn’t do it, I didn’t have the backing of family money, I didn’t even really have a job but a guy got in touch with me with potential of lots of [freelance art] work for me and he brought me here, which was a picture framers. “He was planning on winding up the business and emigrating to Alaska and I www.rmcmedia.co.uk 13

ANNIVERSARY
didn’t think anything of it but then I got a letter, completely out of the blue, inside of which was a cheque for £15,000. It was an inheritance from my grandma who had died a while ago. So I paid off various debts and had £6,000 left and I went back to the chap [at the picture framers] and said ‘how much do you want for your picture framing business?’. “The guy said he wanted £10,000, I had six so I said would you take the six and I’ll pay off the remaining four in my
14 www.rmcmedia.co.uk
first year? He said yes, I ran off to Scotland to get married, came back, learned how to picture frame in a fortnight and opened a gallery, which was a bit mad, but what I’d wanted to do since I was 15.” So open she did and immediately hit a stumbling block, or the Supertram to be precise, as a three-year programme of work started almost immediately to install the tracks right outside her front door. “One in four businesses went
bankrupt. It was devastating,” adds Karen. “But I’m stubborn, very stubborn, and hated the idea of failing through circumstances. I wanted to fail on my own terms not because someone made me fail.” It was at this time that the Hillsborough community really rallied round and got Karen, and many other local independent businesses, through this most difficult of times. It’s support that has never gone away and again came to the fore during this last 18 months. “During the pandemic, almost for the first time in my 30-year history I’ve actually seen the benefit of being in a community and not being in the city centre.” beams Karen. “The community has been extraordinarily supportive of the gallery. It‘s been a blessing and totally humbling.” Karen works alongside Graham Shapley, who has been there for 13 years, as well as picture framers Pete and Midge. Everyone is welcome to pop into the gallery and browse, especially children.

ANNIVERSARY
“I’ve been joking for a while now that my new target market is three-yearolds because threeyear-olds are wonderful,” laughs Karen. “They haven’t been taught that this isn’t for them and the amount of threeyear-olds that have brought adults in is marvellous! I love kids, I keep Lego in for them to play with and I do free cake every Saturday.” The free cake has become something of a hit but it’s the artwork and crafts that keep people coming back. Karen hosts around ten exhibitions a year so there’s always something different. “You can look and not buy as often as you want - and come for cake. I always joke though that on your third visit you have to buy something!” winks Karen. Looking beyond the 30th anniversary, Karen is hoping to paint more - she got a studio three years, saying it was the best thing she ever did and is aiming to do more collaborations, either with venues or other galleries. Beyond the art world she enjoys platform diving at Ponds Forge and spending time with her family. Spending time with Karen it is clear to see she is very humbled about reaching this significant milestone and is extremely passionate about the work she displays. “I’ve made every mistake in the book. I give business advice now – I can tell people what not to do!” concludes Karen. “To say it hasn’t been an easy ride is the understatement of the year. But I’m still here. I’ve shown work from all four corners of the globe, I’ve shown local talent, I’ve shown people who have gone on to do really well... Sometimes you’ve just got to keep going.“ She’s certainly done something right. We’ll raise a glass to that… and maybe have a slice of that cake too. BITS & PIECES
Get your bathroom ready for when you return from hospital After a stay in hospital, it’s wonderful to hear the words “you can go home”. But if your physical needs have changed, it’s important that you can live at home safely and without any struggle. This might mean organising equipment or renovations before you come home. At AHM Installations we are used to installing bathrooms for people coming home from hospital. Here’s our guide to getting it right: • Take note of what the professionals say. A doctor, nurse or occupational therapist may recommend what activities you need help with. For example, if you need a walking frame or wheelchair, as your bathroom supplier we’d need to know what size it is. • Know the difference between independent and assisted bathing. If your goal is to remain independent, we’d need to know whether you can sit down and stand up unaided, and how your mobility is likely to change over time. If a carer is going to help, then products such as bath-lifts may need to be considered. • Ask a family member or close friend to help. Take the pressure off and involve someone you trust in making the decisions. • Use a bathroom company you can trust. Some companies focus on selling bathroom products without understanding your needs. At AHM our priority is quality of life – we think there’s no point having a product unless it makes things safer and easier for you. AHM has installed thousands of accessible bathrooms over the last 20 years, so we know how to make bathrooms safe and stylish whatever your budget. We believe everyone should have access to safe, affordable bathing. You’re welcome to call us on 0114 358 2320 just for advice – there’s always someone at the end of the phone. We offer a Price Match Guarantee and discounts for military veterans and for those with dementia. www.ahminstallations.co.uk
Challenge raises almost £1,000 The pupils of Bradfield Dungworth Primary School have been busy with the Parents & Friends Association Fundraising Challenge - Let’s get Walking! The challenge is for each ‘house’ at school to walk or run the distance from John O’Groats to Land’s End. The total distance to travel the whole length between the two extremities is 874 miles - thats a long way for little legs! The children have totted up their weekly mileage and have been watching the flags in house colours move across the map of the UK as they have collected sponsorship and mileage. Due to Covid, the usual fundraising activities have not been possible so the PFA have looked for other ideas to involve the school community and raise funds to purchase new tablets and IT equipment for the children to use in lessons. If you would like to sponsor the children on this epic journey please visit https://www.gofundme.com/f/lets-getwalking
Jessica’s bid Current Miss Sheffield, Jessica Jones will be competing in the Miss Great Britain event, which will be held in Leicester in September. This is the second time the 26-year-old qualified nurse has represented the city in the competition and she will be hoping to make a favourable impression with the judges. “I am currently raising money for Cancer Research UK, which is a charity close to my heart as my dad has just got all clear, and Alex’s Wish, which helps children with muscular dystrophy,” she said. “If anyone could donate that would be fantastic. You can do so at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/JessicaJones69 and I am also for more exposure with events and interviews. It all goes to helping me hopefully bring the crown back to Sheffield.”
Not Just a Shop
Welcome to my office Views from the roofs of S6
Not Just a Shop, based at 16a Holme Lane, is a charity shop providing training and retail work experience for young adults (19+) with learning difficulties. The idea for the shop came about due to the frustration and hard work of Karen Pemberton, who has a daughter with Downs Syndrome and not having anywhere to turn to after leaving mainstream education. Karen is currently looking for suitable volunteers who can offer support to her students and somewhere that has the facility to store donations. If you would like further information or would like to request a application form, go to their Facebook page, Not Just a Shop, and they will post one out. Or you could telephone 0114 232 1951 or call in to pick one up.
Simon Slater of Slaters Aerial Services has a different ‘office view’ to most of us – a rooftop vista of Sheffield. But can you guess where exactly he was when he took this photograph? Follow @SlatersAerials on Twitter – the answer will be revealed at the end of each month. Last month, did you spot that Simon was on Vainor Road.

WALKLEY
Take a walk on the wild side WITH PLENTY OF AMENITIES AND CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE COUNTRYSIDE, THE SUBURBS OF CROOKES AND WALKLEY OFFER THE BEST OF EVERYTHING, WRITES LUCY JAMES. ravel west for around a mile and a half from Sheffield city centre and you will find the neighbouring suburbs Crookes and Walkley situated on a large hill which gives breathtaking views of Sheffield. The popular suburbs border Broomhill and Crookesmoor to the south and east, and stunning countryside to the north with the Peak District being located nearby. Both suburbs were recently listed in White and Company’s best places to live in Sheffield. Crookes is known for being one of the most social and convenient student locations in the city with it being located around a 15-minute walk away from the university campus giving the area diversity and a real buzz. other hand is more popular amongst professionals and families due its convenient location, great views of the city and countryside to the north and all of the fantastic amenities that the suburb has to offer. To add to all of Crookes’ and Walkley’s positives, recent figures show that the average house price in the area is £178,922; not only is this incredibly cheap for a home in Sheffield, but it is even below the national average!
What is there? Each of the neighbouring suburbs are known for their abundance of amenities and the convenient location of being just a 20-minute walk away from the city centre; residents of Crookes and Walkley will never have far to go to get all of their essentials. Making the area perfect for families and professionals as well as students, there is a variety of nearby schools, hospitals, doctor’s surgeries, and supermarkets and they are all located less than a 20-minute walk away, or a five-minute drive. If that is not enough to get you thinking that Crookes’ and Walkley’s locations are perfect, then the area also has plenty of parks, a leisure centre, pubs and clubs, a museum, and there is even a BMX track nearby. Crookes is also the home to the famous indie pop band ‘The Crookes’ which often leads to fans of the band touring the area. With the areas being so popular amongst students and families, it goes without saying that there is an abundance of attractions and things to do nearby. Here is a list of just some of the things that Crookes and Walkley have to offer to keep you busy and having fun.
Things to do: BoleHill BMX track
If you are a bit of an adrenaline junkie, then just a six-minute walk away in Walkley is Bolehills BMX track. This full-size track has jumps ranging from small and simple all the way up to some trails, this is the perfect spot for practicing your skills or learning something new. Weston Park Museum
Just an 18-minute walk away from Crookes, and one mile from Sheffield
city centre is Weston Park Museum. The museum is Sheffield’s largest with it being housed inside a Grade II listed building; the building itself is something spectacular to look at. Inside is a range of interesting and diverse artefacts and exhibitions which change frequently; it is definitely somewhere to visit more than once and what is even better is that it is free entry to all. Crookes Valley Park
Situated next to Weston Park Museum is Crookes Valley Park, one of Sheffield’s most popular parks in the summer months. The park has a 60ft deep lake, a peaceful spot to sit beside and take a breather. The park is great for sporting activities and even has a safe children’s play area. Rivelin Valley Nature Trail
A five-minute drive away, or a 22-minute walk away is the Rivelin Valley Nature and Heritage Trail. The trail is walk through mostly woodlands with
footpaths which do not permit bicycles, but it is a stunning location to get back to nature whether you want a peaceful walk alone, or if you are taking the kids out for a run around; it is an enjoyable experience for everyone. As you follow the trail you will see a wide variety of plants and animals, and even historical and archaeological remains from 20 watermills and 21 mill dams. These remains impressively date back to the 16th and 19th centuries with them playing a large role in the steel industry of Sheffield, making the trail a must-do thing for anyone who is interested in Sheffield’s history. The Peak District
Seventeen minutes away by car is the Peak District’s Redmires Reservoirs. Redmires is home to three reservoirs and has a popular walking route which passes through woodland. This is the best and closest spot for people living in Crookes and Walkley who like wildlife with many people who have visited the area mentioning the numbers of wild birds and waders here. This walk is one of many free reservoir walks based in the Peak district and made accessible by Yorkshire Water. Only a few more minutes away is more of the peak district’s walks which guarantee you walks that can suit any ability from a gentle stroll to an adventurous scramble.Yorkshire Water has made the free walking routes downloadable on their website.

PROMOTION
From here to eternity PA JEWELLERY’S EXPERTS CAN HELP YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT RING. f you’re celebrating a wedding anniversary, an eternity ring may be the ideal way to mark the special occasion. There are many styles to choose from, but narrowing them down is more straightforward if you consider some key aspects first…
I
Where am I going to wear it?
This might seem like a strange question, but it is worth thinking about, especially if you’re planning to wear your eternity ring alongside an existing wedding and/or engagement ring, as you may choose something that will complement these. If your existing bands are set with diamonds, then you may prefer to choose a setting that matches. If your rings have plain bands then their shape may still influence your choice. The setting may mean that a flatter style will sit more neatly, or for a twist design you might prefer an eternity ring that is shaped to fit. There are many curved, crossover or wishbone styles available but if nothing is quite right then our workshop can create a bespoke piece to sit perfectly.
Do I want a full or half eternity band?
Most designs are available either half or fully set with diamonds. You should choose the design that you like, but there are practical aspects worth considering. Full eternity rings are normally unsuitable for resizing, so if your finger alters you could need to have the ring remade. With half eternity rings minor alterations are usually possible. An advantage of full eternity designs is that if your rings tend to spin, they allow you to be confident that your sparkling diamonds will always be visible. However, having diamonds around the whole band means that there will always be settings exposed to knocks from every shopping bag, steering wheel or door handle you touch. This increases the risk of damage and means settings may wear out more quickly, so you should anticipate more upkeep over the lifetime of the ring. Do I want to add some colour?
While most customers opt for classic diamonds in their eternity band, some
choose to incorporate coloured gemstones. This could be to match an existing ring, celebrate a special anniversary or simply to add some colour. Sapphires and rubies are the most popular choices, and their durability makes them a practical option. Other gemstones may also be used; our jewellers can talk you through the options. It is often best to try lots of styles on and see what you like. Our jewellers are happy to talk you through the different options and offer advice on what will work best for you. We have an extensive range of eternity rings in different styles available for you to try in our showroom; you can browse a selection of these on our website too. The right support ACTION TUTORING BELIEVE EVERY PUPIL CAN REACH THEIR POTENTIAL. new academic year is on the horizon but what will this bring for the pupils who have lost many hours of learning due to the pandemic? There’s talk of letting teachers know which topics will come up on exam papers ahead of assessments and others suggesting extending the school day. All this cost to learning and opportunity is being felt the most by pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. Even with such uncertainty about the best way forward, we do know that tutoring works to help pupils fulfil their academic potential. The progress pupils can make when they work with a tutor and just one or two other children is immense. At Action Tutoring, we believe that every pupil can reach their potential, given the right support – and that family background shouldn’t be a barrier to accessing this. We’ve worked in primary and secondary schools across Sheffield since 2014 to give pupils that boost in
A
maths and English – the key subjects for accessing more learning and future opportunities. The groups are small and the sessions aimed specifically at pupils’ individual needs. As a Programme Coordinator in the area, I help recruit, train and develop our volunteer tutors; some tutor online and some have now returned to tutoring in person in schools. It has been a joy to watch the children develop their confidence and skills, and the buzz the tutors get from helping these young people is like no other!
Our tutors range from 18 to 84 years old and come from a variety of backgrounds. Each one has their own experience to bring to the role. Why not volunteer with us in the autumn? You don’t need to have done any tutoring before. If you are interested in being part of something amazing for just an hour a week, then please contact me! Check your vision GET YOUR CHILDREN READY FOR THEIR RETURN TO SCHOOL WITH AN EYE EXAMINATION AT MARTYN KEMP OPTICIANS. s you begin to prepare for your child heading back to school in September, have you thought about booking them an eye examination? Children have spent a considerable amount of time indoors over the last year between various lockdowns and home-schooling, meaning a lot more time in front of screens and focusing on near objects. This increase in time spent indoors and on digital devices could contribute to vision problems such as eye strain and myopia and have an impact on sleep and overall function. Regular eye examinations are important, as not only do our optometrists check your vision for changes in prescription, but also assess the health of the eye including the macular and retina. A child can have an eye examination from any age, however from school age is a more than suitable
A
time for an eye exam unless there are concerns about your child’s vision at a younger age. Children under 16 are entitled to an NHS eye examination each year, unless advised differently by the optometrist. It can be difficult to know whether your child is having problems with their vision, especially when they are young. Here are a few signs that parents and teachers can look out for that may indicate changes or problems with vision. • Sitting too close to the TV • Squinting to focus • Finding concentrating in school difficult
Contact Martyn Kemp Opticians for more information about eye examinations and glasses for children. Call 0114 288 2287, email stocksbridge@mko.co.uk or visit www.mko.co.uk

TRAVEL
Do the Strand LONDON WAS CALLING TO RICHARD ABBEY WHO FOUND THE PERFECT BASE FROM WHICH TO EXPLORE ON A RECENT VISIT TO THE CAPITAL. Image © Photos.London
tepping off the train at King’s Cross you could sense almost immediately that London has not quite returned to ‘normal’. Regardless of the time of day you expect to walk into a packed concourse before hustling your way to the tube to get to wherever you need to go, but there was none of that. It was much more sedate, relaxed even. Of course this is not necessarily a bad thing and makes it a great time to explore the capital before the long haul flights begin to disembark onto its streets once again. A late morning tube ride to Covent Garden was both short and quiet and on, exiting the station, full of surprises. Again it was distinctly less busy and seems to have undergone a bit of a transformation since my last visit. The market is still the hub (the street performers are still there) but the streets around this seem to have been elevated to another level. Many of them have
S

been pedestrianised while garlands of flowers and lights suspended across these thoroughfares have added character and charm. Bars, restaurants and cafes now spill out on to walkways and squares to create a continental style atmosphere and with the addition of new shopping and dining areas such as The Yards and the Seven Dials Market, Covent Garden feels alive once again. The base for our short stay was just a stone’s throw from Covent Garden and is a landmark itself, being part of the London skyline for over 112 years and

steeped in history and heritage. Strand Palace has recently undergone a two-year multimillion-pound refurbishment that has seen the renovation of all 785 bedrooms, public areas, and a brand-new restaurant and bar refurbished with a modern art-deco inspired interior design. We stayed in two deluxe king rooms, linked by an adjoining door, which offered plenty of space for the four of us as well as comforts including Hypnos mattresses, air conditioning, free high speed wi-fi, Nespresso® coffee machine, complimentary fully stocked minibar and

large HD TV. It was the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the capital. Breakfast was included in our stay and was served each morning in the Haxells Restaurant & Bar. There was a good choice of hot and cold food as well as fruit juices, tea and coffee - my children particularly enjoyed the American-style pancakes lavishly smothered in maple syrup. Haxells is also open for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner with a passion for provenance and a focus on impeccably sourced, top-quality ingredients. The menu is full of modern British dishes such as the Haxells burger, superfood salad, Hawaiian salmon poke bowl and to finish, chocolate cake with honeycomb ice cream. As comfortable as it is inside, it’s the location that really sells Strand Palace with many of the capital’s world-famous sights and attractions, including St. Paul’s Cathedral,Trafalgar Square, the London Eye, and the River Thames, on its doorstep. You’re also in the heart of theatreland and Soho, home to some of the London’s hottest nightlife spots, is less
than a 15-minute walk from the hotel. We’d pre-booked tickets for the lastminute.com London Eye and made the most of the glorious weather with a gentle stroll through Trafalgar Square, St James Park and Parliament Square before crossing Westminster Bridge to its location on the Southbank. Entry was well organised (and safe) as you’d expect and after a short queue we climbed to a height of 135m for unrivalled views over the city. Each pod had limited numbers we shared with one other family - so there was plenty of room to distance but still enjoy the sights without getting in each other’s way. After hitting the heights we enjoyed a long stroll down the Southbank, which has developed into a real foodie destination. There are shipping containers, vans and trucks, all with plenty of seating and all serving food and drink, as well as recognised restaurants and cafes. Gabriel’s Wharf, just next to the OXO building, even had a beach bar. We walked on to the Tate Modern before crossing the Thames to St Paul’s Cathedral and back along Fleet
Street and The Strand, via Somerset House, to the hotel. During our stay we also visited the British Museum and the National Gallery, which are both free to enter but, due to Covid restrictions, tickets must be booked in advance. The former, again a short walk from the hotel, is home to two million years of world history and culture and is worth the admission alone for the Queen Elizabeth II Great Court, the largest covered square in Europe. Our whistlestop tour of the National Gallery took in paintings from the likes of Johannes Vermeer, Paul Cézanne, Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh amongst others. No trip to London is complete without a spot of shopping; Oxford Street and Regent Street cover all bases and were some of the busiest places we visited but again Covent Garden, and particularly the area around Seven Dials, came out on top with a good selection of independent stores as well as some well known high street favourites. On the evidence of this visit, it shows that the return to ‘normal’ is definitely well on it’s way; after almost 18 months of Covid restrictions, our recent family trip was one of our first opportunities to get away and I’ll be honest, it felt fantastic. Prices at the Strand Palace Hotel start from £106 per room, per night. MOTORING
Looking to the future
Look sharp THERE’S NEW LOOKS AND MORE IN THIS MONTH’S MOTORING ROUND-UP.
Raising the bar The new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé is a car that delivers on so many fronts, combining sporting elegance with driving pleasure and, with five full-size seats, a roomy cabin and a versatile luggage area. BMW has really raised the bar; like its recently updated BMW 4 Series siblings, the third body variant in the range adopts the brand’s new design language, along with a refined premium ambience in the cabin and a wide array of innovations in the areas of control/operation and connectivity. Four doors, five full-size seats, a large wide-opening boot and a versatile luggage compartment also ensures the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé retains its characteristic strengths in both everyday driving and on longer trips. A trio of petrol engines will be available along with a choice of rear-wheel drive or xDrive diesel models. It will be launched in November and is priced from £40,465 OTR.
Stiff competition Based on a brand new platform, the new Nissan Qashqai succeeds in reconciling the challenging customer demands in terms of design, spaciousness, dynamics and carbon footprint. A stiffer bodyshell and reworked steering are just two notable changes to the Qashqai which will be available with with two different powertrain options, a 1.3-litre petrol with mild hybrid, which is offered with two outputs. The 12V ALiS (Advanced Lithium-ion battery System) mild hybrid system provides torque assist, extended idle stop, quick restart and coasting stop (Xtronic only), with improvements to both fuel economy and CO2 output. After its initial introduction, Qashqai will be offered with the innovative e-POWER powertrain, which brings the well-known advantages of an EV, such as linear, effortless acceleration and refined performance, without consideration for recharging. 56 www.rmcmedia.co.uk
Kia’s popular Sportage has been given a facelift - the fifthgeneration model looks to the future with a sleek yet muscular and modern exterior design whilst the cutting-edge interior blends ergonomic layout and the latest tech innovations to create an inspiring space. Revealed earlier this year to great acclaim from the design community, Kia’s new design philosophy – Opposites United – is at the core of the all-new Sportage, influencing every aspect of its appearance and character. These principles will influence all future Kia designs, giving them the same basic DNA. The interior really impresses too with a panoramic curved display, which forms the nucleus of the Sportage’s bold but sophisticated cabin. The high-tech touchscreen pad along with the advanced integrated controller act as the nerve centre for driver and passenger connectivity, functionality and usability needs. Both systems have been created to be easy-to-use, highly intuitive and soft to touch. It will be released in the UK in September.
Rally inspiration Looking for something small, nippy and affordable? Well, Hyundai’s all-new i20 N delivers World Rally Championshipinspired styling and performance from just £24,995. The i20 N blends prodigious power, pin-sharp handling and an immersive driving experience with motorsport-inspired styling, cutting edge connect and infotainment technology and advanced safety features into a practical, five-door hatchback format perfect for every day driving. Performance comes courtesy of a new generation 1.6 T-GDi turbocharged flat power four-cylinder engine, which produces 204PS and 275 Nm of torque. Hyundai’s advanced flat power technology delivers more torque and power at lower engine revs to effortlessly utilise more of the engine’s potential in everyday driving situations.
