Mission, Vision, Values Mission To organize and provide an effective and efficient system of quality behavioral health services for the people of Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington Counties. Vision To provide leadership through collaborative efforts with stakeholders for a united and comprehensive behavioral health system responsive to community needs and preferences. Regional Governing Boards are local units of government organized under the Interlocal Cooperation Act for the purpose of planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, and reporting. Each county participating in the region appoints one county commissioner to the board to represent that county and to be a member of the Regional Governing Board.

The Strategic Plan was developed with input from consumers, employees, Behavioral Health Advisory Committee members, Regional Governing Board members, provider partners, community stakeholders, and performance data. This three year practical vision guides the organization in achieving our strategic directions of increasing awareness of behavioral health, building systems relationships, leveraging national resources, enhancing internal resources, and enhancing the evidence of the Professional Partner Program efficacy. Network Services

Region 6 Behavioral Healthcare works with various organizations that provide services directly to consumers. This is considered the Region’s Network of Providers. Services include community based services, rehabilitative services, residential substance abuse services, and psychiatric services. We provide comprehensive and systemic planning, organizing, and monitoring of the services provided to consumers in the public behavioral health system. The Region also serves as an advocate for consumers and the behavioral health system as a whole.

System Coordination

Consumer Affairs

Ensures that we stay focused on the people that we serve by gathering consumer input, engaging in advocacy activities, promoting peer support services, and working to remove the stigma associated with behavioral health.

Emergency & Transition Services

Coordinates our Region’s psychiatric emergency system, ensures that consumers receive services that meet their needs in the least restrictive manner, and coordinates disaster behavioral health services.

Housing Services

Provides rental assistance to adults with severe and persistent mental illness, assistance to youth age 1826, and coordinates RentWise classes.

Prevention Services

Coordinates a collaborative system of substance abuse prevention coalitions, promotes mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

Youth Services

Focuses on the behavioral health system for youth, identifies and addresses youth system needs and gaps in collaboration with system stakeholders.

Network & System Coordination Initiatives

o As a result of LB 901, received funding to enhance Mental Health First Aid across our five county region. o 8 trainers were certified in Mental Health First Aid. o 425 community members trained.

o Revised bylaws o Recruited new membership and began regular meetings o Provides ongoing consumer input to system development.

The Professional Partner Program provides voluntary family-centered case management services based on the wraparound model for severely emotionally disturbed children, young adults and their families. The program is designed to help families achieve stability, improved functioning, and community integration.

Professional Partner Program Traditional and SAFE Program Tracks The Traditional Program Track serves families with children from birth to age 21. The SAFE program track service youth that are identified by the Omaha Public School District.

Family Empowerment Program Track

Family Empowerment serves families that are in immediate crisis that are identified by Children and Family Services.

Rapid Response Program Track

Rapid Response serves families in immediate crisis that are identified by the County Attorney.

Transitional Youth Program Track The Transitional Youth Program Track serves youth transitioning to adulthood up to age 26.
