EARLY 2014, FLEUR PELLERIN, FRENCH MINISTER DELEGATE WITH RESPONSIBILITY FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED ENTERPRISES, INNOVATION AND DIGITAL ECONOMY, LAUNCHED THE FRENCH TECH INITIATIVE. IT WILL RALLY DIGITAL STAKEHOLDERS TO AN AMBITIOUS PROJECT DESIGNED TO BOOST FRANCE’S INTERNATIONAL PRESTIGE AND INFLUENCE. IN RESPONSE TO HER CALL FOR FRENCH CITIES TO ADOPT THE FRENCH TECH LABEL, GRENOBLE’S ENTIRE DIGITAL ECOSYSTEM IS BANDING TOGETHER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION. GRENOBLE-ALPES MÉTROPOLE (LA MÉTRO), IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE COMMUNAUTÉ DE COMMUNES DU PAYS DU GRÉSIVAUDAN (CC PG) AND THE GRENOBLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (CCI GRENOBLE) IS LEADING THE MOVEMENT. Grenoble region has over 20 Tech Champions and more than 550 businesses in the digital sector, in such diverse fields as e-commerce, smart devices and software publishing. The fact that over 200 stakeholders are making a direct contribution to Digital Grenoble’s application bears witness to the ecosystem’s vitality in the region and the need to fast-track its entrepreneurs.

Grenoble has recognised knowhow in user-driven innovation, at the crossroads of the physical, human and digital worlds. Our ability to make the connection between services and objects, purpose and technology gives our regional Tech Champions a decisive edge.
The digital ecosystem is a network of segments and standard-setting know-how in simulation, design, decision support, the Internet of physical and virtual objects, Big Data and e-commerce, for example.

Digital Grenoble wants to harness its network of entrepreneurs and talents, its capacity for innovation and its cosmopolitan outlook to maximise its influence and attractiveness, and propel French Tech to international success.

DIGITAL GRENOBLE USES INFRASTRUCTURE AND LOCATIONS TO PROMOTE THE TECH CHAMPIONS Plans for a public and privately-funded ultra-fast broadband infrastructure for a connected region. Three locations with a strong digital focus to promote entrepreneurs and boost Grenoble’s attractiveness: the city centre, which will house the totem-building, Inovallée and Grenoble Presqu’Île. Higher education facilities with 6,000 students in digital technologies, including world-class research labes and Turing prize winner. Experimentation and demonstration areas (Fab Labs, coworking, technology platforms, etc.).

GRILOG Grilog is the Isère region’s software and IT services cluster. It has over 120 members and informs all of the region’s professionals. Grilog is a member of France IT.
IMAGINOVE Imaginove is a digital content competitiveness cluster comprised of 160 businesses in the Rhône-Alpes Region.

BONITASOFT Miguel Valdés Faura The Bonita software project was co-founded in 2001 by Miguel Valdés Faura, a computer engineer at INRIA. In 2009, Charles Souillard and Rodrigue Le Gall joined Miguel in setting up Bonitasoft. With over 2,750,000 downloads and 875 customers in more than 60 countries, Bonitasoft is the fastest-growing BPM publisher. Today, 150 employees representing over 20 nationalities are helping to make Bonitasoft a success from their bases in Paris, Grenoble and San Francisco.
DIGITAL GRENOBLE : Where academia and industry meet. Incubated in the Bull research centre in Échirolles, it was founded by three computer engineers, two of whom graduated from Polytech Grenoble and ENSIMAG.
SPARTOO Boris Saragaglia Founded in 2006 in Grenoble, Spartoo has, in just a few years, grown into one of the leading players in online sales of shoes and fashion items in Europe. Spartoo generated sales of €140m in 2013. The company employs 200 people representing about 20 different nationalities at its head office, in addition to 120 people employed by its logistics service provider installed in SaintQuentin-Fallavier, near Lyon. Spartoo is a multicultural, international company. The group operates in 20 countries across Europe.

The Delta Drone Group designs and builds civilian drones. They are part of an endto-end service offering that ranges from data acquisition through to its computer processing using a specially-developed information system, and including the services of professional pilots. These pilots are trained and certified by the École Française du Drone, a Group subsidiary. Delta Drone currently caters to 6 business segments: mines & quarries, agriculture, energy & grids, industrial inspections, sports & leisure, and mountain applications.
Delta Drone has formed partnerships with such varied stakeholders as Vicat Granulats, ERDF, the FC Grenoble rugby team, the Alpe d’Huez ski resort, ENAC and CEA Leti. 13 |
