LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE TO BIDDERS Sealed bids for RISING SUN PORT AUTHORITY HANGAR BUILDING, will be received by the City of Rising Sun until 1:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Thursday. November 15, 2012. Bids will be opened and read aloud by the OWNER immediately after the closing time for acceptance of bids. Bids delivered after this time will be retumed unopened. A Pre-Bid Conference for the discussion of the work, the bidding requirements, and other important matters will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at 10:00 am., Eastern Daylight Time. at the City of Rising Sun, 200 North Walnut Street, Rising Sun, IN 47040, Attendance is not mandatory. but encouraged. The Project consists of, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: construction of a 2,700 sf wood frame and block aircraft hangar building on a 0.5 acre lot on Front Street. The hangar building includes an office, water and electric ulilities. con crete driveway, grading and seeding, and installation of an oil/water seperator. Bidders shall assure that they have obtained complete Set of Contract Documents and shall assume the risk of any errors or omissions in bids prepared in reliance on incomplete sets of Contract Docu ments. All bids and proposals shall be properly and completely executed on the proposal fonns provided with the plans and specifications that will include the non-collusion affidavit as required by the State of Indiana. The bid envelope must be scaled and have the words "BID - RISING SUN PORT AUTHORITY HANGAR BUILDING". It is intended that actual construction of all work divisions shall be started as soon as practicable, and each bidder shall be prepared to enter promptly into a construction contract, furnish a performance bond, payment bond, proof of insurance, and begin work without delay in the event the award is made to him. No bidder may withdraw any bid or proposal within a period of sixty (60) days following the date set for receiving bids or proposals. The Rising Sun Port Authority reserves the right to hold any or all bids or proposals for a period of not more than sixty (60) days and said bids or proposal shall remain in full force and effect during said period. The Rising Sun Port Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Or to waive any informalities and to accept the bid that it deems most favorable to the interest of the Rising Sun Port Authority after all bids have been examined. The WORK shall be substantially completed within 90 calendar days, and will be completed and ready for final payment within 120 calendar days from the date when the Contract Time starts. Bidders shall complete Standard Questionnaire Form 96 and include it with their bid. including the non-collusion affidavit. Bidders shall ensure all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their racet creed. color, sex, or national origin. An Affirmative Action Statement shall be submitted with the bid. The Rising Sun Port Authority will fund this WORK. Funds have been budgeted for this project. Contractors and subcontractors are required to pay not less than the Common Construction Wage Rates established by the Indiana Department of Labor and induded in the project specification if the project cost exceeds $250,000.
