Reaching New Heights
Lee Hwa Soo is the CEO of PT Bank KEB Hana Indonesia. He is responsible for leading KEB Hana Bank with the goal of becoming one of the top banks in Indonesia. A Korean-Indonesian bank with a significant presence in Indonesia, Hana Bank started its business in Indonesia through the acquisition of Bank Bintang Manunggal in 2007. In 2014, it merged with KEB Indonesia to become the KEB Hana Bank that we know today. Since its establishment, KEB Hana Bank has been growing at a rapid rate. There are currently 50 branches of KEB Hana Bank spread out around Indonesia’s major cities, with the plan for further expansions. Glocalization is the key word in the bank’s quest to compete with the local banks, as with a greater expansion comes the capability to approach more local companies and customers. The bank currently has around 150,000 customers, and Lee’s goal for the bank is to reach 1 million customers in the next few years. According to Lee, what distinguishes KEB Hana Bank apart from other banks is customized service. While other banks may focus more on transaction accuracy and safety, sometimes in detriment to customer satisfaction, KEB Hana Bank’s motto is “for the happiness of customer.” It is also fitting that the bank’s vision is not to be the best or the bigger; however, “to be the best customer focused bank.”

KEB Hana Korea strives to go the extra mile by providing not only banking services for their private banking customers, but also specialized service according to the needs of their customers. Recalling on his personal experience when dealing with a local bank, Lee notes that the waiting time and service time leaves a lot to be desired. Many local banks are only now transitioning into electronic system and still waste valuable time doing many things manually, a stark contrast to the more sophisticated Korean banking system where the experience is a lot faster and more efficient. Hence the main focus of KEB Hana Bank’s customer service is to provide convenient service, anytime and anywhere. At every service desk, a sand-watch is placed to time the transaction and guarantees that it will be done within 5 minutes. In addition to better services, KEB Hana Bank has introduced a new concept of banking facility called “Hana Lounge” where the customers can relax in, chat with friend and enjoy a cup of coffee and tasty breads for free. The Bank believes that the comfort and warmth approach makes banking more convenient for customers. As a leader, Lee thinks it’s imperative to show a very clear direction and target for his employees. However, this so called target need not be a certain number of sales to achieve as he believes such numeral target is not as effective. Rather, he provides a goal for his team and let them develop their own ideas on how to achieve the goal while giving them the freedom and support necessary in order to achieve the goal. He believes this will unleash the employees’ full potential and achieve the best result for the company. In contrast with the other foreign banks working environment where individual performance is highly evaluated and valued, KEB Hana Bank is all about teamwork. Lee strongly believes in creating a better and more effective working environment through promoting togetherness within the company. To him it matters not whether the employees are Indonesian or Korean, they are considered family members. This is a place where everybody works as a team within their own divisions, and together as a big family that makes up KEB Hana Bank. Lee advocates programs such as ‘bring your children to work day’ and family outing to enhance the employees sense of belonging to the big family. As a company that is growing rapidly, his hope is that the employees’ hopes and dreams will grow alongside with the company. Lee started his career with Hana Bank a few years after graduating from the prestigious Seoul National University with a Bachelor Degree in Economics. He joined Korean Investment & Finance back in 1991, a small financial company which became Hana Bank shortly after he joined. Thus, Lee became one of the founding members of Hana Bank Korea. He followed its journey from a small bank with only 200 employees and 2 branch offices to one of the largest banks in South Korea in asset. During his early years with Hana Bank, Lee was given the opportunity by the company to further his education overseas. He took his family to the USA and obtained an MBA from the University of Michigan. He incredibly thanks to the company for providing the opportunity, and he believes it creates a sense of loyalty to the corporation. Given the chance, he would love to pay it forward and provide the same opportunity that was given to him to other employees as well. While he admitted that his life and focus very much revolves around the bank and its advancement, Lee enjoys golfing and mountain hiking during his spare time. He adores hiking in Indonesia, especially in Gunung Gede as it is a lot higher than the even the highest mountain in South Korea. As a lover of nature, he greatly appreciates the fantastic scenery of Indonesia, with favorites being the Bali and Lake Toba. It seems that Lee will have more time to explore what Indonesia can offer while taking KEB Hana Bank to a greater new height.

The technique of goldsmith in twisted threads that was popular in the 60s and 70s has been evolved and developed by Piaget. Just like the rotating hours ring, the minutes scale is carved in three dimensions in white mother-of-pearl before being polished and printed with numerals. The Winter watch celebrates ephemeral works made of ice, wind,
and winter light. As they open, the five blades from a carpet of frost covering a mother-of-pearl mosaic background. Each section is covered in cracks of ice set against a sky blue backdrop. A similarly unusual line appears on the subdial, covered in white diamonds. The minutes scale, hours ring and other elements of the dial are in white mother-of-pearl. The case is identical to that of the Peacock model. In both timepieces, the side of the platinum case is graced with a row of white diamonds. Above it rises a majestic domed sapphire crystal that descends towards the edges of the case center to provide an uncluttered view of the spectacle occurring within. The back of the rounded sapphire crystal case, sculpted to caress the wrist, reveals the back of the movement.

In the framework of celebrating its 110 years anniversary, Montblanc proudly launches its new Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique 110 Years Anniversary. It is a limited edition of three innovative timepieces, boasting its fine craftsmanship featuring an in-house one-minute tourbillon, a double cylindrical balance spring and the Maison’s Heures Mystérieuses. As with its special edition watch this year, Rouge & Noir, Maison’s first fountain pen series, the 110th anniversary is once again celebrated with the recalling of the design theme with a Serpentine. The techniques of decoration have been used for centuries and is a level of craftsmanship that is extremely rare. Only the most experienced artisans have the knowledge to produce components at this level.

Spring’s military theme marched on into Burberry Pre – Fall 2016 Collection in the form of dark cropped jackets, dramatic capes and fitted, elongated coats with rows of shiny buttons and red contrast piping on pockets and collars. Dresses, skirts and coats showcased the collection’s signature detail stitch motif that ran daintily over wispy silk crepe dresses, stretch denim skirts and wool boot-cut trousers. Christopher Bailey has been having a clean-out of the Burberry closet. Christopher Bailey’s first collection under the single Burberry label featured lush outerwear, military references and nods to the sporting life in the form of Burberry-emblazoned cashmere sweatshirts and striped zip-front cardigans. It was a pleasing play on proportion and texture with none of the grungy edge of the springcollection. Bailey glammed up everyday outerwear with fur, doing up duffles in a mix of raccoon and fox; whipping white shearling into oversize aviator jackets or a double-breasted coat, and slipping a raccoon collar onto a trenchinspired cape. On the slimmer side, there was a sleek, belted cinnamon suede trench with a wide collar and a wink to the 70’s.

That noted, the Pre-Fall collection had a ’70s slant, starting with the shoe-concealing hems of the flared pants, and going on up through the A-line, high-belted trenches and the capes to the oversize fox and raccoon duffle coat. Another thread—traced, literally, through red topstitching and brass buttons—was the regimental one, seen in a caped overcoat with a horse guard’s swagger, and transferred to neat bandsman’s jackets and the detailing on jeans. The capes and ponchos that have become the label’s street style go-tos are back in a big way as well, and the standouts this time around are a fringed, blanket-like knit option and a structured cape with a fur collar. Street Style Renaissance Gucci presents its Women Pre-Fall 2016 Collection of a Street Style Renaissance by Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele who had 800 members of the global fashion industry voted him the International Designer of the Year award, on 23rd November 2015 at a 2015 British Fashion Awards in London Coliseum. The showroom where Gucci exhibited its new Pre-Fall collection was entirely layered in a pop-enthused pink wallpaper filled with flying herons prints, in match with its video campaign. The assortment paraded a shy girl going fashion in her way of an extraordinary brocade coat with blue astrakhan collar and beige shaggy, long-haired fur cuffs or a bubblegum-pink satin dress embroidered with a big, green, three-headed snake, indicating 80s influences of a a chic, big-shouldered trench and, and a black leather chevron-quilted jacket-and-skirt combo. An abundance of patterns, pleats, embroideries and fur trims on fluid clothes are exhibited in the show that are merged with exquisite tailoring with offbeat bravado such as a pair of birds or a black panther on an ethereal pastel gown and, a flat splayed-out tiger looking down the back of a fur coat, while a marvelous blend juxtaposed a red-on-ivory graffiti-printed satin skirt with a black sweater decked with pearl-embroidered yoke and ruffled cuffs. Parisian Glamour Dior launches its Dior Autumn Winter Ready-To-Wear 2016-2017 with distinct Parisian glamour of dark palettes with motifs that include hand painted or embellished leopards among others. The Dior Fashion show at Musée du Louvre interior designed with giant towering mirror walls, concentric rings of oxblood velvet and matt silver that were both futuristic and reminiscent of cathedral arches arrayed briskly walking models with their hair tightly coiled into buns and ears studded accessories, many in coats with hem deep flounces. There were interesting, fashion-forward shapes of a strong black flounce running into a V and a high neckline, while another in shocking orange with leg-of-mutton sleeves, and a couple others with paisley patterns. The Dior assortment showcased Dior House DNA manifested in standout pieces of coats and knitwear coats folded open from neck, revealing rich mink hues, or resting gently on shoulders with zippered ribbed turtlenecks beneath, gorgeously crafted dresses with mishmashes of fabrics and frills, and alluring soft sculpted coats, with many double functioning as mini dresses. Shoulders were either drape concealed or bare and silhouettes were fashion forward. A simple black silk shift dress that’s highly attractive in its simplistic beauty slopes asymmetrically off the shoulder and ruches up at one side with gathered sleeves that are tied and angled towards the elbow. Berluti reveals its Men Autumn Winter 2016 Collection enthused for minimalistic lines evident in wide roomy cuts, flowing jerseys, sun scorched hues of an autumn winter assortment with no season. Creative Director Alessandro Sartori of the 120 year old Berluti House of Fashion, after returning from a road trip to Marfa in Texas brought back with him the world of a charred minimalist desert, exuding of a more youthful less-stiff line where bankers are out and downtown crews are in, and where the Berluti man is made to quite the wardrobe. Marfa is a tiny town in southern Texas famed for its artistic community. The minimalistic casual line disclosed leather pieces that include trousers and a trench coat made with super light shirt weight calfskin. In contrast to other tailoring houses, there wasn’t a tie seen where in their place under suits and jackets, were unstructured V-neck T-shirts worn with silk scarves added to the laidback look. Sartorial in nature, the assortment brought elegance to the season, touching upon shearling and leather notes from oversized knitwear to sharp dual layered suiting and chic bomber jackets. Fabrics were of rich olive and cream wools woven into an almost 3D texture on rollnecks, cashmere patches on jackets and soft-yet-smart joggers tucked under more loosely, equally soft oversized jumpers and slouchy coats

The British manufacturer of luxury, high-performance sports and super cars, McLaren revealedthe 675LT Spider at the end of 2015 as the latest chapter in the history of the iconic ‘Longtail’ name, and was the fifth new model debuted during a truly defining year for McLaren Automotive. ‘The Longtail is a famous name in the history of McLaren, first used on the fastest version of the iconic McLaren F1,’ explains Mike Flewitt, McLaren Automotive Chief Executive Officer. ‘The McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’ was the final highly successful iteration of the F1, and it is an appropriate name for the most exhilarating and driver- focused version of the Super Series. The 675LT is the purest distillation of what McLaren stands for – pure driving pleasure.’ The main focus for the 675LT Spider is clear: to deliver maximum performance, engagement and excitement. To achieve this, weight has been reduced by 100kg through the increased usage of carbon fibre – the signature material of McLaren – and by lighter components throughout, including newly developed suspension geometry derived from the McLaren P1TM, resulting in an increased track of 20mm. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) takes just 2.9 seconds, and 200 km/h (124 mph) is achieved in 8.1 seconds – giving away only 0.2 seconds to the more aerodynamically optimized and lighter Coupé The lightweight theme continues throughout the interior with Alcantara® and bare carbon fibre used extensively. carbon fibre-shelled racing seats, modelled on those fitted to the McLaren P1TM, save a combined 15kg, and feature ‘675LT’ embossed leather to provide enhanced levels of support and grip. Under the skin sits the heavily revised 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 powertrain from the Coupé sibling, ensuring performance figures are worthy of the LT badge. The power output and torque figures remain unchanged, with 675PS (666bhp) delivered at 7,100rpm and 700Nm (516lb ft) available between 5,000-6,500rpm. The changes to the powertrain saw more than 50 percent of the components replaced to ensure optimised levels of power, torque and drivability. These include new, more efficient turbos, detail design changes to the cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds, new camshaft and lightweight connecting rods, and a faster-flowing fuel pump and delivery system.

During Salone del Mobile 2016 in Milan, Trussardi Casa presented a furniture collection influenced by continuity. This interior design project is conceived for dynamic and contemporary locations, a sign of the family mood, which characterizes the Trussardi maison. Furniture and accessories are inspired by a strong Milan lifestyle. A synthesis of elegance and modernity, which is deeply rooted in the Italian taste. This collection tells the story of a journey through three generations, with their history, culture, past and excitement for the future. The solutions proposed for the living and the bedroom are defined by essential volumes and simple lines, always following the idea of informal elegance which has characterized the Greyhound brand for more than a century. The furniture proposals are emphasized by an international origin which is a synthesis of design, functionality and harmonious combination of materials and colors.

The soft leathers, which have always been a matter of proud and heritage at Trussardi and whose thickness is similar to the fabric texture, are combined with natural cotton and linen fibres alternating with velvets and chenilles. The selection of finest woods goes from the ash stained wengĂŠ and Canaletto walnut. The details of the frames are in solid oak wood while the surfaces are in Emperador Dark or Carrara marble. The metals characterize the changing structures which sometimes have a clearly free shape with their gunmetal or brushed bronze finishes. All the materials are skillfully manufactured following the typical craftsmanship and know-how of Trussardi. The color shades are neutral and warm, going from cognac to sand with tones of cocoa, petrol blue, blue aviation, ecru and accents of citron yellow or cardinal red for the textile accessories. In addition to these main decorative themes we find shades of octane blue with a soft and powdery effect mixed with light grey textures.

Plataran Borobudur First Class Borobudur Experience

Dr. Christian Blüthner-Haessler Heir of the Royal Legacy What do all the kings of the music world and numerous royal houses have in common? During an outstanding span of 160 years, Blüthner has been a part of numerous Royal Courts of Europe including the German Emperor Wilhelm II; King of Austria, Hungaria, Croatia and Bohemia, Franz Joseph I, and Her Majesty the Queen of England. Even the kings of pop and classic music have climbed up their ladder of fame gracefully with the royal class piano of Blüthner. Naming the classic composers and pianists: Johannes Brahms, Gustav Mahler, Liberace, Béla Bartók, Claude Debussy, Dodie Smith, Max Reger, Richard Wagner, Johann Strauss, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Dmitri Shostakovich. Russian pianist, composer and conductor of the late-Romantic period, Sergei Rachmaninoff, even took with him his Blüthner piano when he immigrated to America from Russia. With its famous nickname of “Golden Tone”, Blüthner piano has taken many pop music artists to great prestige of earning the title of “Kings of Pop” such as The Beatles. The Abbey Road Studios in London owned a Blüthner piano which was used on some of their tracks in the album “Let It Be” (1970). Even in musical theatre, Blüthner piano has played a role in the hands of the English composer Baron Andrew Lloyd Webber. Webber composed 13 musicals so far and owns 12 Blüthner pianos. After 160 years, the world has changed, technology has changed and the people has changed. However, as Blüthner piano heir and director put it, music is still music. Therefore, after decades of changes, contemporary musicians such as Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Diana Keys are still using the Blüthner piano and composing their timeless music on it. But the royals and musicians are not the only ones who proudly place the Blüthner piano in their room environment as their dominating piece. Many families in the world, even in Asia, have inherited their Blüthner piano from their grandparents and are proudly passing it on to their children. It is not just an instrument to play on. It is part of a legacy of the family, proudly being passed on from one generation to the next. With the enduring quality of Blüthner piano, this is possible to do over a span of generations within more than just a hundred years. To make sure that the quality of each Blüthner piano is preserved, Dr. Christian Blüthner-Haessler and his brother himself gets their hands dirty to reassure that each piano sings the Blüthner DNA. “It is not only about playing some family
pieces, it’s about hearing the instrument sing. It’s leaving my name on the piano, not somebody else’s name,” he explains. Each Blüthner piano released is an agent that will build and continue the royal reputation of the “GOLDEN TONE”. By checking the quality firsthand himself, he is guaranteeing that each piece meets the uncompromising quality standard. This can not be done by somebody who is not a Blüthner. “If you allow this DNA to develop into something else, it is not the same thing anymore and that won’t be the name of the piano,” says Blüthner-Haessler. It is for this very reason, that the Blüthner piano company is the only company that is still family owned. According to Blüthner-Haessler, it is the only piano offered by the German government as being a national treasure. Keeping the brand in the family, is keeping the legacy in tact for the family name. This is not just a money making business. This is the source of pride of a family heritage. Every Blüthner piano is produced individually. In order to create a masterpiece which will decorate royal courts, mass production could never work. It takes 18 months of craftsmanship to build a Blüthner piano. However, the process itself starts with harvesting wood, which was seasoned for many decades. The wood used today to build one piece of a Blüthner piano was harvested 15 years before, because it takes time for the wood to mature. “I need to see 15 years ahead of how much timber I need,” Dr. Christian Blüthner-Haessler, the 5th generation heir of founder Julius Blüthner, pointed out. The quality of material used allows the owners to be worry free especially in tropical climates. A simple wipe with soft tissues with no special application should be enough to dust it off. Scratches may be repaired by their skilled trained technician, as the tropical climate demands a special treatment for scratches. The company itself has delivered more than a hundred pianos to the tropical areas over 100 years ago, to Singapore, Manila, India, Japan and Hong Kong, and they all still play well until today. Edwin’s Gallery carried out an S. Dwi Stya “Acong” Solo Exhibition themed “Wangi Jerami” that means “fragrance of hay”.
