Hom Nguyen’s unmitigated creative ingenuity is showcased through his crafting of numerals with his legendary linearity patterns that reify human lifepaths, which in the purest watchmaking heritage is recreated and resurrected by Franck Muller’s dial craftsmen.

This iconic Crazy Hour limited edition runs on a 42-hour power reserve and exudes an extraordinary reading of time through its unconventional sequencing of its hand-drawn hour numerals. A patented mechanism of bidirectional selfwinding movement makes the hour hand actually spring from an hour to the other based on the random placement of dial numbers. Every Franck Muller watch reveals fully in-house empiric complications with hundreds of technical sheets per component that are later constructed, exquisitely ornated, brought to perfection and assembled into the movement. Each dial has 30 layers of lacquer with a 1-hour drying period per layer, while mirror polishing at the highest degree leaves no visible trace and produces one direction of administered light reflection. Meanwhile, diamond tools mill-polish and result in high gloss surfaces like at the complication bridge levels, where rhodium electroplating is then rendered to deposit a 24k gold layer covered in rhodhium for corrosion prevention and timepiece-life extension.
