The success of the recently held inaugural Registry Golf Cup on the 10th of October at the Royale Halim Golf Course in Jakarta carried great significance for Registry Indonesia as it hosted this landmark event, and everyone at the Registry Indonesia team would like to convey their heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors, those in attendance as well as members of the media for making this a truly memorable sporting event. Another occasion of note featured in this edition is the Sekar Ayu Jiwanta Foundation which held a performance entited “Genta Sriwijaya” - on November 20 at the Taman Ismail Marzuki Theatre in Jakarta, - a drama of tradition that raises the glory days of the Srivijaya Kingdom with the purpose of the performance being to preserve national culture and art, and to remind the history of the greatness of the Indonesian Nation. Kazakhstan is gaining a burgeoning reputation as a country that is going places. Being the world’s largest landlocked country and the ninth largest in the world Kazakhstan is a huge country with diverse landscapes, dazzling capital cities, numerous lovingly cherished traditions and a truly exotic Asian culture. The territory of Kazakhstan would be highly appealing to any traveler; it comprises infinite wild steppes with fresh- and saltwater lakes making them particularly charming, a unique pine forest, the powerful Tien Shan Mountains, the world’s second largest and most important canyons. Tourism is undoubtedly one of the most important sectors of any economy, accounting for a significant share of income into the state budget of many countries. In Kazakhstan, the industry is very recently beginning to gain momentum. Kazakhstan has enormous potential for all types of tourism, from sports to business, and of course, eco-tourism. The country’s rich and complex history has left fascinating archaeological and historical sites; its

unique geographical position provides an amazing diversity of landscapes, flora and fauna, many of which are still completely unspoilt and remote. The number and diversity of natural environments make Kazakhstan an incredibly attractive place for the ecotourist. Given Kazakhstan’s size and location, the country has a diversity of climate and topography that tourists would normally have to find in a number of different countries around the world. There is the Great Steppe and the lakes of Central Kazakhstan, listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. There are the foothills and mountains of the east and southeast which can easily compare with the Alps for their variety of landscapes, flora and fauna, but unspoilt less well trodden. There is the coast of the Caspian Sea, the largest landlocked body of water in the world. There are the dry deserts of southwest Kazakhstan, amazingly photogenic and home to extraordinary wildlife; there are the forests around Lake Burabay in the north of the country... and much more. keen to explore the natural environment and experience the ancient life of Kazakh nomads. There are 12 national parks and 10 nature reserves in the country. The most famous of them among tourists include Aksu Zhabagly Nature Reserve, which is home to snow leopards and other rare animals, and is also known as the “Kingdom of Tulips”, as it is believed that tulips originated here, long before they were introduced in Holland; also, Korgalzhyn Nature Reserve is famous for its pink flamingos and other rare species of wildlife and is popular among bird-watchers; Altyn Emel National Park is interesting for its mystery of Singing Dune; and Katon-Karagay National Park is a habitat of marals (red deer), unossified antlers of which are used as a precious medicine. Kazakhstan offers perfect conditions for sports tourism, with mountain skiing, alpinism, water activities, horse riding, cycling, and many more. A series of mountain ranges of various sizes – such as the Tien Shan, Altay, Ulytau, and Kazygurt – are naturally beautiful and attract tourists from all over the world. The Tien Shan Mountains are the highest among them (with the highest peak being about 7,500 meters [24,500 feet]), and Almaty, the largest city of Kazakhstan, is located at its base. Thus, tourists interested in trekking and winter sports can easily access marvelous landscapes directly from the city of Almaty. Most popular climbing routes are located in the Small Almaty Valley and Bogdanovich Glacier. In addition, Kazakhstan’s high mountains are ideal for winter sports. It therefore came as no surprise when Kazakhstan hosted the Asian Winter Games in 2011 – one of the priorities of the country has been to promulgate winter sports.

A unique sport complex Medeu with a skating rink popular among tourists was built in the 1950s, at 1,691 meters (5,548 feet) above sea level, which makes it the highest skating rink in the world. A sophisticated artificial refrigeration system enables it to keep high-quality ice coverage for 8 months of the year. Another major winter sport attraction of Kazakhstan is Shymbulak ski resort, also located not far from Almaty. The Shymbulak ski centre pistes are among the best in the world. Snow can be found there from November till May; however, sunny weather is also registered there more than three hundred days a year. Kazakhstan is a wonderful venue for a health-promoting holiday, with a choice of natural therapeutic resources such as hot springs and mineral waters and mud, with the country’s salubrious climate and beautiful scenery.

A noticeable excitement seems to come through the face and tone of Mr. Ridwan Hisjam as speaks about the sometimes-troubled yet rapidly evolving political scene in Indonesia. As a fulltime politician for the renowned Golkar (Golongan Karya) party, Mr. Hisjam now sits in the Peoples representative Council otherwise known as DPR as the vice chair of the Komisi VII which oversees the growth & development of the Energy, Environment and the Research & technology bodies within Indonesia. Born in Indonesia Second largest city, Surabaya, Mr. Hisjam has never forgotten his humble beginnings and knew from an early age that he needed to sharpen his outlook and his exposure in life in order to be able to reach a place of success and continuity. However, Mr. Hisjam shares that his journey to politics was unplanned yet dynamic and rapid, stating that politics has become a hobby that he really enjoys, despite its difficulties, but this approach is what makes him such a genuine and independent politician who serves from a place of genuine interest for the development of this country and his people. The now 60 year old seasoned businessman-cum-politician has great regard for his political party and speaks with great passion about the different layers and colors of Indonesiaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s political growth and maturity. Through his various experiences, the soft spoken Hisjam is very vivid in his explanation on all things politics, stating that the now much more exposed public is only beginning to learn the ways of democracy and this is both a good thing and bad thing in his eyes. Good because exposure is crucial in allowing the people to vote better, yet he also thinks that this change in alignment with reformation is delayed by a good 20 years due to troubles in transition and the overall active participants in the local political scene. Nonetheless, Mr. Hisjam is headstrong in pushing for and bringing in change especially with the growing awareness on crucial matters from the youth who are now modeling and creating new avenues for growth, development and sustainability. Mr. Hisjam points out the key difference between Indonesians old brand of politics and the current times noting that the elected President now is much more closer to his voters and that this forces him to be more open and also to oblige and deliver on his campaign promises. But, that he says is what is exciting about the future of politics. Mr. Hisjam is also proud about the role his Party Golkar plays, revealing that they have always been a bridge between successful Presidential changes and administrations and that they thrive on being the balancing act throughout the journey of Indonesian politics. He is confident that his party holds strategic influence, which allows for a platform where the process for re-invigorating the countryâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s appeal and standing can grow exponentially in partnership with other like-minded individuals and parties. A degree in marine and naval engineering has given Mr. Hisjam a very different perspective on looking at and solving issues within his business and political interest. An eye for detail and the ability to simplify the difficult is certainly apparent as he shares a wealth of knowledge to people that work for and around him, making him a well loved figure. Despite his highs Mr. Hisjam has not forgotten his humble upbringings and has not forgotten his main responsibility as a peoples representative. Through the Ridwan Hisjam center located in Malang, he gets a feel of the real pulse of the city and country as a whole. His center initiates and facilitates the betterment of community and individual lives and hopes that centers like these can be replicated more across the country so that the people highest up know the plight of the people below them. The new Polaris Geographic WT completes the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris collection that was successfully unveiled at the SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie), in Geneva. ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL GMT-MASTER II Travel the World!

At Baselworld 2018, Rolex is introducing three new versions of the GMT-Master II with a brand new movement, the new-generation calibre 3285, and a new image. The first new version, in Oystersteel, combines an Oyster case and Jubilee bracelet with a bidirectional rotatable bezel and a 24-hour graduated two-colour Cerachrom insert in red and blue ceramic. Two further versions bring 18 ct Everose gold to the GMT-Master II range, along with a two-colour Cerachrom insert in brown and black ceramic. GMT-Master II evokes intercontinental travel across time zones. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) marks mean solar time at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London – the historic location of the official prime meridian used for calculating longitude and determining different

time zones around the world. In addition to conventional hour, minute and seconds hands, which display the local time (the time in the wearer’s current location), the GMT-Master II features an arrowtipped hand which circles the dial once every 24 hours, as well as a bidirectional rotatable bezel and a 24-hour graduated Cerachrom insert in coloured ceramic. When the bezel is in the neutral position, that is with the triangle at 12 o’clock, the 24-hour hand displays the reference time (home time, for example), which can be read using the graduations on the bezel. The first of the new GMT-Master II versions introduced in 2018 is in Oystersteel. Karl Lagerfeld, Silvia Venturi Fendi, and the accessories at Fendi, it’s all flowing together in an organic way that balances high fashion and cleverly coded items with a sense of aplomb. Starting, there were the neat boxyshouldered dresses and coats which Venturi Fendi described as “a romantic uniform for a strong and powerful woman of today.” And then Karl Lagerfeld, talked in a pre-chat about his vast collection of antique table linen and bed linen: “Since a boy, I always thought it was the top of luxury to have clean,

white cotton sheets.” Out of that Lagerfeld treasure chest came the inspiration behind the finely scalloped-edged and embroidered silk neckerchiefs and white collars of his iconic style. For a general comparison, Sean Young’s deathlessly chic fitted suits and dresses as the office replicant in the original Blade Runner released in 1982, showed off her stunning legs and tight, boxy shouldered dress something reminiscent of the 1940’s. Somehow, all those ingredients feel spot-on now—

’40s, ’80s, a touch of film noir, a pinch of sci-fi fantasy. With the clarity and playfulness of the way Fendi double-F beige-brown logo patterns were deployed over everything from tights to fur sweatshirts to flocked trenchcoats and baguette bags, there was a lot to see—and a lot for young fashion fanatics, and the super-wealthy, to aspire to with their fat check books dripping with new money. And that has to be healthy for this brand’s fortunes.” Looking the part” is an age-old distinction in reference to those in positions of power or authority. While preparing the fall Fendi collection, Karl Lagerfeld and Fendi considered what manner of dressing makes sense for the accomplished, chic women. They thus worked fashion’s classic feminine-masculine dialogue into something smart and fresh, and in Fendi’s words, “Romantic femininity for a powerful woman.” Along the way,

they developed a concept almost unheard of today — daytime glamour, highly polished and highly self-assured, yet not at all self-conscious but playful in a certain manner. The core dichotomy came in the juxtaposition of traditional men’s fabrics and precise tailoring, silhouettes and fine handkerchief embroideries of the sort women used to do at home. It started with Lagerfeld’s cuts. To him, silhouette is everything. His new shoulder, strong, square but highly manageable, anchored impeccably cut natural-waist dresses and skirt suits, many flaunting collar embroideries and a demonstrative “butterfly lapel.” Numerous looks featured a “shoulder bag”. While the tailoring dominated, the collection took an overtly soft turn with pleated silk dresses embroidered with flowers and the initial “F.” Fendi wins.

A new chapter for the historic fashion house began when Paul Andrew presented his inaugural collection as women’s creative director, joining Guillaume Meilland as design director for men’s. Andrew said: “We started the entire process together. Everything we’ve done from the color palette, the fabric selection, the fittings—there was a guy and a girl there all the time.” This collection finds motivation in the frayed edges of modern decadence: a party once thought endless in the twilight hours jolting to reality at the first light of dawn. Andrew’s inspirations for the season included original Ferragamo client Katharine Hepburn as well as the naughty “royalty” of England’s ruling class. Meilland added: “We’ve swapped things, tried pieces on the boy, tried pieces

on the girl, so it was a very organic way of working.” A new construct of dressing emerges: familiar forms are stripped back, loosened and elongated with ease and elevated functionality. Traditional silhouettes are expertly dissolved for a contemporary take on formal codes. Materials are unrivalled: from plush leathers to Italian wool fabrics, to heavy silk twill and soft cottons. Broad strokes of colour were the starting point; merlot reds and mustard yellows mix expertly with parakeet green and deep vatican blue between hints of nude and blush. Footwear, the keystone of Ferragamo’s storied history, is the seed of a collection that was purposefully visualized from the ground up. lit up with vigorous freshness. Leather is the fundamental material, in calfskin coats with impossibly soft cashmere lining and pull-on knee-high boots in nabuk and ostrich. Trousers in buttery nappa leather and wool-silk blends are exactingly cropped to pull focus downward to the shoe. Knits are designed to complement leather pieces: from cashmere sweater dresses to ponchos. Shirt-dresses are fabricated from the material of silk foulards sourced from

the archive. Galvanized block heels molded in three heights — whose metallic glazing was finished in automobile factories — have been sourced from archival 1930s-era Ferragamo styles. Merino shearling knee-high boots are dyed green and red like 70s shag pile carpeting and lined internally with lusciously soft calfskin. The Doppio Gancini, Ferragamo’s iconic logo, is represented in ornamental hardware at the waist in women’s belts.

In collaboration with Pakuwon Mall Surabaya, designer Elizabeth Njo May Fen, better known as Afen, held a fashion show titled ‘Marathon Runway’. As the name implies, this fashion show was held with a long performance stage like the spirit of the ‘marathon’, about one km long. The opening ceremony was held at Pearl Hall, Pakuwon Mall 3rd Floor, which was enlivened by singer Andre Hehanusa who performed the song ‘Bidadari’. The name Elizabeth Njo May Fen is no stranger to fashion lovers in the city of Surabaya. The designer and founder of the fashion school from Surabaya is endlessly honoring the name of Indonesia with various works. In contrast to generally fashion parades that always feature professional models, this time the designer who is familiarly called Afen was actually showing off her friends and clients to demonstrate the various collections of clothing. The models included 10 alumni of Miss Indonesia, and 101 influencers from various circles of society. This fantastic fashion show was enough to steal the public’s attention. of the fashion event was to motivate young Surabaya designers to be more creative and to help showcase their talents in Indonesian fashion. In addition, fashion is not only the responsibility of designers but also influencers. Therefore the 101 muses who participated were exceptionally beautiful and happy to please the crowd with new fashion statements. “Those who presented my work are my own friends and clients. My friends are fashionistas, beauty influencers, chefs, alumni of Miss Indonesia, and athletes,” Afen said at Pakuwon Mall Surabaya, the venue for the Marathon Runway, Saturday (9/29/2018). “The distinctive feature of Elizabeth Njo May Fen’s collection is the use of weaving. However, for ‘Marathon Runway’ this time I intentionally also demonstrated a collection of Unique Seamless Dresses that had received the MURI Record in 2008, “said Afen. Afen also said that there was actually no special plan to hold

a fashion parade with a concept like this, because initially it would only hold a runway for 60 models. But the Pakuwon Mall gave the idea to increase the number of models to 100. “I then agreed. But because 100 is a perfect number, I made it 101 so it’s not perfect. Because I’m not perfect either, “she added humbly. For this event, Afen presented 101 fashion collections from five of her clothing lines, namely Hypnotized, ElizabethNjoMayFen, Knockdown, Anay Resortwear, and Ketique. Elizabeth Njo May Fen is a key figure in this ‘Marathon Runway’ 2018 event. According to her, this fashion show event combined with a 1000 meter marathon is to always develop the spirit and creativity of fashion designers. “At present most fashion tends to daily. Afen with her collections in MARATHONRUNWAY 2018 successfully broke 2 Muri Records and recorded them in the World Record Book. The two records are the Indonesian World Record for the record of the initiator and organizer of the Largest Single Fashion Show by the Most Influencers and World Records Indonesia on the record of the initiator and organizer of the Largest Single Fashion Show Most Transformation Models from Weaving Materials. “When I send data for this event I had hoped to get two MURI records. However, when it was announced it was not only a MURI Record but also a World Record, this is what makes me surprised and happy at the same time. My friends were also very happy and supportive,” Afen said. “MARATHONRUNWAY was intentionally made around the mall so that

mall visitors would also watch the fashion show, not only invited guests in the ballroom,” Afen added. This demonstration is rumored to have won the MURI record in the category of the largest muse and longest runway for fashion. Afen also said that if the Marathon Runway gets a good response, she plans to hold a second Marathon Runway event soon. “There are already proposals to make a fashion parade of 100 athletes. This idea is interesting. The edge certainly cannot be in the near future,” she concluded. NEVER ENDING EVENTS

NE2 (Never Ending Events) is a community consisting of 23 women from Surabaya who come from various backgrounds, and who frequently get together whilst attending various events in Surabaya. These 23 women come from diverse backgrounds with some being entrepreneurs, professionals in the corporate sector, doctors and dentists, designers, makeup artists, fashion and beauty influencers as well as food bloggers. As their meetings grew more frequent, these likeminded women decided to set up NE2, an events agency which recently gained fame for hosting the 101 Marathon Runway which was attended by 101 designers and fashion personalities. The 101 Marathon Runway took home 2 awards by the Indonesian Museum of records (MURI) with notable acclaim going to Elizabeth Njo May Fen (as a member of NE2) and Samantha Young who also served as the Show Director whilst also being the chairwoman of NE2. To date, many events in Surabaya take inspiration from NE2, and this can be seen as an outstanding

endorsement of NE2. Simply put with NE2, there is never a day that goes by without an event taking place â&#x20AC;&#x201C; thus the name eponymously matches with the core concept of NE2. Taking for example the 101 Marathon Runway, which started off initially as an idea for a family portrait which snowballed into becoming the biggest fashion show to be staged in Indonesia. The Marathon Runway was held at the Pakuwon mall on September 29, 2018 with a 1km runway and was enough to grab the attention of the visitors. Not only because of the unusual views, but also the clothes worn by designer Elizabeth Njo May Fen are quite unique. The 101 Marathon Runway obtained two awards from MURI for firstly being the organizer of a fashion show with the greatest emphasis on the art of weaving, and secondly being the initiator of a fashion show with the largest number of influencers. A truly remarkable organization, NE2, has made a huge splash in the events pool, the like of which has never been seen before.

As a family-owned and run business, Wajer Yachts (pronounced as ‘wire’) is known for its customer focus. An example of this approach in practice is the pushbutton fender system, with fenders popping out from the side and inflating automatically. Another neat innovation is the way the hydraulically operated anchor concealed in the bow can be conveniently operated from the steering console and aided by a camera, it dispenses with the need to brave the elements when dropping/raising the anchor. The fully automated bimini/sprayhood retracts into the aft seating area and the table in the cockpit lowers into the floor via a hydraulic mechanism, freeing up space. The swim platform, developed and produced in the Netherlands especially for the Wajer 55, is exceptionally large and doubles as a gangway.

Golf is a truly amazing sport. One that has the ability to unite people from all walks of life. In Indonesia, Golf holds a unique position as a sport that brings together members of various business communities. It is a seminal embodiment of the culture in Indonesia, where corporate entities, sporting organisations and various other entities get together to play a round of golf, mostly for good causes, and if not, to promote better cohesion amongst people within the corporate structure. At The Royale Jakarta Golf Club with its beautiful lush greens and fairways, panoramic views of Mount Salak and Mount Gede, golfers will enjoy the International Championship style concept. Registry Indonesia is proud to be able to host this inaugural Registry Golf cup at such an outstanding golf course. With the above being said, Registry Indonesia undertook the monumental task of hosting its first ever golf competition, eponymously titled Registry Golf Cup 2018. On the 3rd of October 2018, a press conference was held at the Royale Golf Course in Halim Perdana Kusuma to elaborate and inform members of the media and public about the details of the Registry Golf Cup. There was also a Radio Talk show conducted by Brava Radio and Cosmopolitan FM encouraging all golf lovers to attend and be a part of the festivities, all whilst competing for great prizes. The press conference was held and convened by Mr. Prima H Himawan, Mr. Arga Nugraha, Mr. Setiawan Sudjie and Mr. Michael Christopher. Registry Indonesia took the step of hosting the above event with the intention that by holding such an event it would encourage all in attendance to engage in some good outdoor fun filled activities which will serve as an excellent means of exercise whilst also being a great social gathering in itself. The winners of the competitions at the Registry Golf Cup are as follows â&#x20AC;&#x201C; Totaling 128 players playing in 18 Halls, the Smoke Ball event which served as the opening of the Registry Golf Cup was was commenced by Mr. Setiawan Sudjie, Mr. Martin Lee, Mr. George Chandra, and Mr. Tugas Dwi Apriyanto. The winners of the

inaugrual Registry Golf Cup are as follows: The Best Gross Overall prize went to Mr. Robert Lee and the Best Nett Overall prize went to Mr. Rudy Nopianto. The Flight A Best Gross was won by Mr. Bryan, with the Flight A Best Nett award was won by Mr. Onggowidikdojo. The Flight A Best Nett 2 award was won by: Mr. Nasir, and the Flight B Best Gross award was won by Mr. Anwar Cholid with the Flight B Best Nett 1 award going to Mr. Bambang Rudy P. The Flight B Best Nett 2 award was won by Mr. Baskoro and the Flight C Best Gross award went to Mr. Ivan Anshori. The Flight C Best Nett 1 award went to Mr. Doddy with the Flight C Best Nett 2 award going to Mr. Risti Aji Wibowo. The Nearest to the Pin competition was won by Mr. Jemmy Kurniawan, with the Nearest to the Line award going to Mr. Suharsono. Upon arrival, all the players were given special Registry Tees, red in colour â&#x20AC;&#x201C; adding a touch of elegance and class â&#x20AC;&#x201C; two adjectives Registry Indonesia is synonymous with. The competition itself was played in great spirit, as the golfers mingled and were seen to be thoroughly enjoying themselves in between holes with many remarking about the excellent manner in which the entire event was organized as a whole. After the competition, players, guests and those in attendance adjourned to the banquet area for an excellent and truly sumptuous dinner, a fitting way for the guests to unwind and relax. Special mention has to be paid to the outstanding contributions from all sponsors and media involved in covering this inaugural event with notable contributions made by Gold Sponsors: Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Hana Bank, Macallan (offering drinks during the event), and Turkish Airline Business Class tickets to Europe. Opening of Art Exhibition

The opening of the exhibition of balinese artists maestro was held at the Puri Lukisan Museum in Ubud, Bali. I Ketut Budiana’s exhibition was opened to much fanfare by the Bali governor Dr. Ir. Wayan Koster and Ida Bagus Putu Sena’s exhibition was opened by the Vice-Governor of Bali Dr. Ir. Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardana Sukawati. The exhibition was was initiated by Mr. Daniel Jusuf as Collector of Paintings, and was attended by numerous curators, and visitors from all over the world. The works of art set to the theme ‘Whirling’ ‘Muter Tattwa’ was open to the public from 6 September 2018 - 1 October 2018. Guests were enthusiastically entertained with the artwork on display and the whole event was received extremely positively by all in attendance.

Le Chateau Living held an event where they revealed an exclusive area in exhibiting collections from the renovated Antoniolupi label. Attended by Matteo Marianelli, who directly guided invited guests and the media to tour the Antoniolupi area. Also in attendance were Mr. Heru S. Gusti (owner of Le Chateau) and Mr. Kieran Hardy. The area located on the ground floor of Le Chateau Living not only displays its products, but also offers a nuance or concept of space where designers and professionals can see various possibilities in arranging a bathroom. Antoniolupi is a premium label for bathroom products from Italy that continues to provide innovation in the world of bathroom design.

AQ Dulux Invitational 2018 was held at the Damai Indah Golf Course in PIK. This unique charity tournament was a collaboration between AQ Dulux Professional. The benefactors of this yearâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s AQ Dulux Invitational tournament are organizations involved in disaster relief such as Yayasan Kasih Bagi Sahabat (Partners for Compassions) and Yayasan Laut Langit Biru, an environmental organization dedicated solely to reduce plastic waste. The players gathered together for the tournament at 10am and were served with light refreshments, following which the tournament began at 1pm. Amongst the notable names in attendance were Mr. Jun De Dios and Mr. Paul Tan.

FINE ART ASIA & INK ASIA 2018 Cream of the Crop Art Galleries

For the first time, Fine Art Asia 2018, Asia’s leading international art fair, was held alongside Ink Asia 2018, the world’s first fair dedicated to ink. Together, the two events showcased an outstanding array of antiques, fine art and ink art presented by world-renowned galleries, and attracted many knowledgeable dealers, collectors and connoisseurs. Fine Art Asia and Ink Asia 2018 were staged from 29 September to 2 October in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with a Private Preview and Vernissage on 28 September, at the peak of the October art season in Hong Kong, coinciding with Sotheby’s and China Guardian’s auctions in the same venue. The Honourable Mrs. Carrie Lam, GBS, JP, Chief Executive, Hong Kong SAR Government, was the Guest of Honour at the Official Opening and visited the booths of leading galleries.

Fine Art Asia and Ink Asia 2018 presented a fabulous display of museumquality antiques, fine art and ink art from both East and West. The 10,000-squaremetre exhibition space provided a showcase for more than 10,000 stunning works of art, worth a total of over HK$4 billion (US$510,360,000). The fairs were attended by 25,000 visitors from all over the world. A strong Photography section at this year’s fair attracted much interest. Seven international galleries participated, as well as the University of Hong Kong Museum Art Gallery with a special exhibition “At the Turn of the Century: Pictures of the Past” featuring photographs of Hong Kong taken by Hungarian Dezsó Bozóky in 1907-1908. Leading galleries at Ink Asia 2018 demonstrated how ink has successfully made the transition from tradition to contemporary. A wide range of media

including paintings, calligraphy, prints, sculpture, video and installations showed the spirit of ink is by no means limited to traditional paintings on rice paper. Many visitors enjoyed the special ‘Tribute to Lui Shou-kwan’ exhibition organised by The Ink Society, Hong Kong, which also organised an academic programme of lectures and seminars by leading experts at the fair. Visitors and exhibitors alike were unanimous in approving the decision to stage Fine Art

Asia and Ink Asia at the same time. Henrietta Tsui, Director of Galerie Ora-Ora, Hong Kong, said “It has been in overall a very positive experience at Ink Asia 2018, having met new potential clients genuinely interested in our featured contemporary ink artists. We feel that by having the fair together with Fine Art Asia, as well as during the same period as the Sotheby’s and China Guardian’s auctions, the joint events are able to draw higher quality visitors this year.”
