Dillon Marina Sailing School is ASA certified and its classes will prepare you for sailing anywhere. Lake Dillon has been rated one of the world’s best sailing destinations, with challenging winds and beautiful scenery. The sailing school’s pro instructors have decades of experience in everything from basic to advanced technique. Start with ASA 101 Basic Keelboat certification (or take a refresher course) where you’ll learn terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, sail trim, points of sail, seamanship and navigation. The school offers these classes for couples, groups, or team building, private and weekend courses and day charters are also available.

Peaks and Tides

Located near Durango at Two Rivers Marina on Lake Navajo in Navajo State Park in Arboles, Peaks and Tides is a charming, close knit, and welcoming group that wants to chare their love of sailing with locals and visitors alike. With Bella, a sailing black Labrador as their mascot, the Sail Durango group offers private individual and couple’s lessons, customized group lessons and children’s lessons, all with ASA certification available. Their chartered excursions include a morning sail, a brunch sail, and a sunset cruise, all with an educational component. Their blog will make you feel like you’re a part of the group.
