Peñalara hotel Madrid, Spain

Peñalara hotel is a two-storey townhouse in harmony with the nature and beauty of the mountains. This is a break from constant stress and routine. This is the silence we seek in our cities.

I worked on space for 6 months and for more than a year before that I kept the idea in my head. It all started with simple one - to emphasize nature with traditional materials and authentic forms. The design is not distracting, on the contrary, despite sharp and straight forms, it is the background and seems to say quietly: "Here nature rules the ball."

Neutral colors of warm wood and gray stone allow the eye to rest and relax the mind and soul. On the balcony you can spend the morning with a cup of coffee, and after intense hiking to soften in an easy chair with a glass of wine.

22nd BRIDGE NYC, USA

The observation deck is located at the bottom of Manhattan and is located towards the best views of the Upper New York Bay. Its predominantly circular shapes and cablestayed designs are inspired by its immediate surroundings, including the retro-futuristic Ferry Station, Castle Clinton, park and Brooklyn Bridge.

Manhattan is connected by 21 bridges with other areas of New York or New Jersey. Hence the name of the 22nd bridge, which, unlike the previous ones, has not a physical, but an emotional connection. He connects the city with its skyscrapers - the main hallmark of New York and emphasizes its verticality.

Stone Shelter Washington, USA

Shelter in the rock walls is exactly the place where you want to escape and hide from a storm. It is a center of comfort among the wreckage of a force that will not only protect but also shelter anyone in need of peace and calm. he idea of the project is to create a shelter protected from natural disasters, located among rocks, sand and forest. Its elevated floor level also protects against the tides of the Pacific Ocean and debris carried ashore during the storm. It was decided to choose the color scheme of the exterior according to the landscape black concrete, which flows smoothly into the dark rocks of the nature reserve.

Planning is so simple. The square in the plan has an area of 170 square meters, which contains the necessary for comfortable living of two people: living room, bedroom, kitchen, seating area and bathroom.

It was decided to make the interior of warm and gentle shades that will be pleasant not only for the eyes, but also warm for the soul.

Casa de palha Lagos, Portugal

"Casa de palha" translated from Portuguese is a thatched house. In Central and Eastern Europe, houses with this type of roof are considered traditional and authentic, while in Portugal and other sun-drenched and ocean-blown countries, thatched roofs (or canopies) are a symbol of resort and recreation.

This is a test task for MAKHNO studio. It consisted of placement on a plot of 400 square meters. m. closed house with an interesting and unobvious design.
