LET’S CARE TOGETHER
ID HANDBOOK ®
Colouring companies responsibly We are far from strangers to working with safety and ethics. This reflects our way of doing business throughout the history of the company. The principle of upholding decency and responsibility was established more than three decades ago, and it was clear from the beginning that we wanted to be a supplier that does things the proper way and takes responsibility for our impact on people and the environment, regardless of where in the world our products are made. As a UN Global Compact member, we make a targeted effort related to the Sustainable Development Goals, and our annual COP report (Communication On Progress) outlines our work towards a more responsible production. It is our goal to minimise the impact that we and our suppliers have on the environment, to which end we became members of yet another initiative BCI – Better Cotton Initiative in 2020. Responsibility is something we share. To us, CSR is about taking responsibility for the company’s impact on people and the environment. We have a close and long-term cooperation with our suppliers,
2
who are willing to meet changing requirements over time. Including requirements regarding responsibility towards people and the environment. This means that the quality of our CSR depends on personal relations. All our PRO Wear by ID® products are OEKO-TEX®-certified, and back in 2017 we took another big step towards more responsible cotton production when we obtained EU Flower certification. In 2020, we launched a new line of GOTS-certified products as an extension of our responsibility work. ID® Identity will continue to select focus areas where we believe that we can play a major role in creating products designed for high performance and longevity while caring for the environment and maintaining the high product quality throughout their lifespan. A long-lasting product is far more ethical and environmentally friendly than one which is used and only keeps short time.

The idea of a clothing collection was fostered as the result of a wish at FTZ to do something different to brand FTZ and at the same time create community spirit and greater focus on the brand.
The clothing was intended to work as an unconventional quality gift for customers – which could also be used at special events. At the same time, the clothing was supposed to brand FTZ in a simple yet elegant way.

We take care of the quality, but what can you do to extend the lifespan?
Materials selection All materials are selected with care and a focus on quality, durability and functionality. In production, environmental, ethical and social responsibility is always an element.
Good fit Good design and good fit are essential for employees to feel comfortable. We ensure at all times that the clothing complies with our standards for a good fit.
Quality assurance It is important to us to maintain high standards. Quality is measured in many ways – colour consistency, material and construction testing, ensuring that the product has a long lifespan.
Product care Product wash and care are up to the consumers. We make it a point to guide users to realising even longer product life spans. 10
Extend product life With proper handling, the lifetime of the product is extended. Maximize durability, save money and help the environment. Here are four tips to prolong the life of the product.
1
Avoid unnecessary washing. Air the garment instead.
2
Follow the washing instructions. Avoid using fabric softener when washing.
3
4
Wash the product with similar colours and inside out.
Stretch the product into shape immediately after washing. This will keep the shape.

Your guide to understanding certifications and memberships We take our responsibility as a clothing manufacturer seriously. The fact that ID® has received a number of product certifications and is a member of numerous organisations and initiatives is your guarantee for ethically sound products and a clear conscience. EU Ecolabel
STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® OEKO-TEX® is your guarantee that the clothing does not contain harmful substances. At ID®, we have styles certified with 3 different OEKO-TEX® certifications annex 4, product class 2 and annex 6, product class 1. The third OEKO-TEX® certification is your guarantee that the product is made of organic cotton and is GMO free.
The EU Ecolabel is the official ecolabel of the EU. In the textile industry, the focus is on more sustainable agriculture, energy efficiency, less pollution in the production process and fewer hazardous substances. The Ecolabel is your guarantee that clothing bearing the EU Ecolabel has as little impact on the environment as possible.
TENCELTM TENCEL™ is made of natural raw wood material sourced from sustainable forestry in an environmentally-friendly closed-loop system in which water and chemicals from production are reused. TENCEL™ Lyocell provides breathability and softness.
Global Organic Textile Standard GOTS is recognised as the leading global processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. Certification sets the bar high for compliance with social and environmental criteria throughout the supply chain. The standard GOTS requirement for the ’organic label grade’ is that at least 95% of the fibres in the garment are organic, and that the organic fibres must be separated from conventional fibres through out the manufacturing process.

Amfori BSCI BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) is a network of 2.400+ companies which has formulated a set of common ethical principles for purchasing and production in non-EU countries.
