A percentage of your days should be spent
doing “new customer relations” Customer relations can be everything from sending emails to creating birthday cards and even planning for a customer appreciation day. I remember back in the day when I had a Magazine and connectivity in the entertainment industry to the point that I became so resourceful and put 2+2 together in the effort of achieving a winwin. I would have the performers to perform inside of the business owners establishment and I would have the owner invite their clients or customers for a customer appreciation day. it would be refreshments and performances and I would film all of it and put it together in creative symphony if you will that would forever be remembered by the customers and the client. i've done this over and again for beauty salons and recently during the past two years at Starbucks in Conyers Georgia.

By these examples, you must figure out a way to create value for your clients and your customers. THINK: How can you be so resourceful as to gather a large number of people together for something entertaining or informative, but gives some kind of “take-away” the client will forever remember? This is something that (with a little brainstorming) can increase your client base and carry over into Number 3... Number 3 is to earn more from your current client base. Embracing your current client base with a “customer appreciation day” is one way to earn more from your client base. But, you will also need to have new products and services to market to them. Ultimately, those new products and services are what will lead to your increase from your current client base. In Starbucks (for example) they are always introducing new drinks and new
products. They do this quarterly, consistently, and there always feels like a refreshed menu of products in the store. So, what new products/services can you offer and how can you “refresh your menu” for your client base? That is the question you need to ask and answer as it relates to increasing your bottom line.
GET SOCIAL!
Finally your 4th initiative should be to increase the frequency by which you reach and service your overall client base. Starbucks does this with a "rewards system." They also have a cash register receipt that comes out at random, encouraging you to fill it out and visit their website. You receive a free drink in return.
