Editions Tabletops are all unique and can be individually chosen from our carefully selected stock via www.wdstck.eu/stock
Nature is full of wonderful and beautiful phenomena, which create an endless source of inspiration. Natural materials bring an environment to life with their asymmetrical ratio, organic forms and uneven structures. The traces left behind by weathering and aging tell us a stor y about the heritage which lies within.
Tabletop form Clean Cut Free Flow
Environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, light and air have an inf luence on the form and color of the tree slice and add a new layer to its histor y. The maker leaves his signature by emphasizing the natural patterns of ner ves and lines with careful craftsmanship. The user will also contribute to the histor y of the table, by simply using it and leaving traces of use.

memento
Five lines and a circle – the human body can be as simple as the drawing of a five- year-old. Inspired by the same simplicity, the Memento was designed; A chair in its purest form with two leather rectangles on a steel lining. The leather is attached with straps and buckles, for switching the leather and the steel frame as you please. The thick saddle leather is ecologically tanned to accentuate the life that wore it as its skin. The scars and insectbites from the life in Transylvania are visible in the leather. By using the Memento chair, the leather becomes even more beautiful over time.

burned chunck In search of a way to emphasize the sensual forms of the wood, we discovered an ancient method from Japan called Shou Sugi Ban. This intensive and time- consuming technique burns away the soft par ts of the wood and reveals the inner structures of the wood. As an additional advantage the wood is well preser ved from weather, rot and insects with a non- toxic method. The Burned Chunk has a comfor table f lowing seat and is equipped with invisible wheels.

floating divan
The Floating Divan is made of a cross section of a tree trunk, which is held up in the air by a well thoughtout pattern of knotted ropes. It refers to the endless networks and systems that we encounter in nature and society. Lifted from the ground, you are surrendered to the waves that move seemingly unpredictable through space. The Floating Divan has become an intimate place where one can slowly rock and withdraw oneself from hasty ever yday life. The Floating Divan emerged directly from ar t installations of Chiel Kuijl. His architectural projects consist of mainly rope and space constructed over land, water and in the air.

Exhale
Editions Standing Pendant
Exhale skillfully encases a single blow of glass within a rigid metal structure. The metal form restricts the glass by pinching , hooking and spiking into the volume during the blowing process, capturing a tense play between the constricting and billowing materials. The entire fixture catches one breath. Due to the delicate ar t of glassblowing with cr ystal, the environmental conditions determine the final form of each Exhale light. The temperature and humidity of the room, as well as the mental and physical state of the glassblower, have an effect on the shape and size. The Exhale is designed by Catie Newell and Wes McGee and exclusively available at Wdstck.

burning ego
Material Burned oak wood
The Burning Ego ser ves as an ode to the often neglected essence of the bough and its relationship with light and life. To accentuate the beautiful and muscular forms of the bough, the Shou Sugi Ban technique is applied. This ancient woodworking technique from Japan burns away the soft parts of the wood. By letting the LED follow the original form of the bough and using minimalistic suspension, the Burning Ego floats powerfully through mid air. The Burning Ego is created in close collaboration with landscape architect Wim Verzantvoort.

Exploring antique markets, we got intrigued by a series of old factor y chairs. They were made and designed solely for their function and retained their quality up until today. Ironically these chairs were used in the same factories that ultimately destroyed the values of craftsmanship and durability in the course of mass production. This inspired us to design a modern factor y chair as an ode to authentic artistr y. Kodak is named after the company that made analog photography into a form of art. For a long time, Kodak dominated the photography market with its progressive technolog y and marketing. By the late 1990, it had to fight bankruptcy due to its slow transition towards digitalization.

bellamp
By turning on the light, a serene sound fills the space, creating a sense of calmness in a world that seems to travel faster than light. The Bellamp is created with recycled air tanks used by fireman to keep the pressure on their fire extinguishers. The production codes are still visible on the tanks. Following the codes, you can find the exact origin of your Bellamp. The belling sound is created by the brass hamer hitting the hollow tank. Due to the unique production method of the air tanks, the sound lasts longer than you would expect. The Bellamp is designed by Akko Goldenbeld and exclusively available at Wdstck.

Sublight
Length Approx 205 cm
Like a submarine suddenly appearing on the surface of a calm ocean, the Sublight floats above the energ y of the space. By keeping the source of light out of sight, mysteriousness is created similar to the abstruseness of a submarine’s light moving through dark waters. The masculinity of the industrial pipelines balances with the elegance of round forms and delicate and detailed handwork. The Sublight is designed by Roland de Mul and exclusively available at Wdstck.

What is true love? What kind of experience is it? What is the beauty of it? Do you find it when capturing the moment? Is it in the longing after you lose that love? Or do you only truly experience the beauty when you let go of a loved one? The Love, the Pain, the Beauty ’ is the visual ref lection of these questions and their possible answers. The LPB is created in close collaboration with artist Kevin De Winter from the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.

Title On the other side
This imposing creature with its enormous head and lips makes you wonder: ‘ W hat if a majestic moose lays in total surrender, with her head hanging heavy and low? W hat makes some of us want to conquer and others want to admire?’ With its resting legs, bend and stretched, the limp neck, the large head, closed eyes and hanging lips, it remains free of endeavour. Between presence and absence, it takes the space in the world nonetheless. ‘On the Other Side’ is co- created with Miriam Knibbeler. In her work, Miriam examines the space between soulless and soulful, banality and myster y. In the definability of her sculptures, she tries to find the undefinable. This way she questions the myster y of life and death.

Symbiose
Measurements 60 x 60 x 8 cm
As with ever y craft, one needs tools that help transform, change and create. In the same way that a surgeon needs a special set of refined instruments, ever y type of craftsman needs one as well. The role of a designer requires one to be able to design as well as create, this results in a beautiful symbiosis between two abilities that are inherently connected. There is only one copy of the Symbiose, created by Maurits Busse.

The Lost Daughter of icarus In Greek mythology, the master craftsman Daedalus is on the run for the armies of king Minos. Daedalus creates two pairs of wings, for himself and Icarus, out of wax and feathers. The sudden power of flight however, causes Icarus to try and push his luck. In his arrogance, Icarus starts flying too close to the sun, which causes the wax on his wings to melt and ultimately sents him plummeting towards his doom in the tumultuous seas below. Back on the mainland, we find that Icarus has a daughter. She hides and locks herself in the cathedral Daedalus, where she develops an immense fear towards the sun. The fear to be devoured by the sun, just like her dad, keeps her in the safety of the cathedral. The years pass by and slowly her hair and skin get more and more pale. When king Minos searches for the lost daughter of Icarus, he finds a bewildered young woman. A pale white apparition, lacking any interaction with the outside world, which she had only seen in books and pictures, had no other choice but to create her own world full of art.
