Coronavirus feels like a modern-day prohibition. The nightlife we knew has been forced to change- just like all of us. Similar to the prohibition, the stay-at-home ordinances made it illegal to gather in large groups and be at your favorite bar with friends. No business or industry is impervious to failure. However, most businesses and industries are at least given fair grounds to stand on and a fighting chance to survive. Yet, in the face of a new and uncalculatable enemy, several establishments are closing or remain closed leaving entertainers without work. One group has begun a venture to change that. In this article, we explore Nclusion+Club and talk with Honey D'Moore about what she's doing to make the best of COVID-19's impact on the Drag Show / Nightlife scene in Columbia and around Mid-Missouri. What has happened from your point of view since COVID-19 came to Missouri? "Since COVID-19, I lost one of the places I've called home since moving to Columbia in 2015, Yin Yang Nightclub. I remember Pride of 2015 being the new shy gay kid in town watching Jennicka dance and kick and split while Atheena did what she does best, Celine Dion. Yin Yang is where I went when I was having a bad day I would watch the queens perform and have fun doing it. That's gone now and it's one of the saddest things I could have imagined happening to us. How have your show planning and show bookings
been affected with the closure of bars and limitations on events?
Now, as a show director with The Lantern House, we had to push our show in Sedalia back almost a month and a half." Where do you see the future of drag and yourself in 6 months, 1 year, and 5 years from now? I see my future 6 months from now hopefully a little skinnier, prettier, and sluttier. One year from now, I hope to eventually enter in my first pageant. In 5 years, I hope to find a husband, still perform, and maybe audition to RPDR, but who knows. I'm a wild card. What advice would you give to someone interested in getting started in drag? "Contact me! I would be glad to help- I even have a new Drag Daughter! You'll see her in an Nclusion+Show eventually!" The future isn't certain. Things are ever-evolving. Can a new bar withstand whatever the new age of coronavirus can throw at it?One group thinks so. Nclusion+ is a team that is building a new majority LGBTQIA+owned company in Columbia, Missouri. The organization runs like a non-profit and allows loyal pledgers behind the idea to have a say in the future outcome and benefits. The goal, Chris Lehman says, "is to eventually have a physical space again that operates as a co-working cafe by day and entertainment venue by night. King of t heQuar t er Hannibal Lickter Some know Hannibal as the raunch-master, ready to take ya and do ya right, and some know "The Lickter" as, Reid. In this issue of Nclusion+Magazine we sat down with Reid Wilson to learn more about how this King found his way to the stage. Drag Son of London Starr Dior, Hannibal Lickter first got his appetite for performing while watching Amanda Lay perform. Thankfully, at the end of that night's show, "Amanda Lay announced open auditions for her next show and I thought, I can do this... and I did!" it was then, and with confidence, that Reid became Hannibal. It's not all about pushing the line . Hannibal says, "I like to make people smile most of all," and continued with "the thing I like most is the creative outlet that drag gives me while being able to make other people happy." As NclusionPlus began hosting Drag2Nite performances, Hannibal Lickter was the first DragKing to grace the stage. "I had fun and there's more where that came from!" PROFESSIONALISM Highl ight ing LGBTQIA+ Businesses & Inf o By The Nclusion+Editing Team We are all diverse people living in one small world. When you start bumping shoulders and shaking hands... (up until recently), you'd start to see how close we all are when we stop to say hello and invest in building a relationship. Not all relationships have to have a romantic, sexual, or agenda-driven result. Sometimes, you invest in friendships and professional connections. In this article, I share some of my thoughts on professionalism and building your career. What advice would you give someone interested in developing their professional image? Do it! It never hurts to invest in yourself and invest in the future. A professional image can mean a lot of things. It's far more encompassing than just a "suit and tie" look. Professionals, these days, display themselves by skills, results, and communication ability more than external appearance. So, don't just focus on how you look. Focus on proper grammar, spelling, punctuality, and positive results. Where can someone go to network and meet other professionals? A few of my favorite stomping grounds include BNI, ACA, and Rotary. BNI and ACA are member programs that host weekly networking and referral marketing opportunities. Rotary is a weekly commitment, as well. However, Rotary is a service-based organization that focuses on community improvement through volunteer and fundraising efforts. Networking is a side effect of participation. There's also a young networking group called EPIC. It's a part of the Chamber of Commerce. If you want to know more, email us at nclusionplus@gmail.com and we will send you links. How do you approach someone to start building a relationship with them?
It can be nerve-wracking. However, I remind myself that most people want to make a new friend. So, just begin with the simple, hi, hello, my name is... then ask questions. Tons of questions. Listen carefully and find ways to relate to family, friends, local establishments, and hobbies. There's a fun mental image I use based on a Dale Carnegie principal. I'll happily share it with you if you ask. When are digital networking activities most merited? Now more than ever. Use digital to connect with new people and re-connect with old friends. Don't overstimulate your pages with spam. Find ways to stay fun and engaging with relatable memes and personal videos. Who do you credit with teaching you the most about networking and business? Steve Henness. He was the leader of a summer camp for young entrepreneurs and we've stayed in contact ever since. Why are entrepreneurship and business passion of yours? It goes back to helping people. Entrepreneurship allows me to do what I want and work with those I care about. Each day I listen to problems, develop creative solutions, and get to make people happy as we solve their problems. Helping people never gets old or boring. What are you working on right now? NclusionPlus is the focus outside of running my day-to-day company, MAAD Creative. We are working on adding content for viewers on our website, creating new programs with awesome new Influencers, and will be working on a physical space before you know it. The community we are all a part of is about support. At its heart, it's about inclusion. That's why our team named the company Nclusion.

Lucky 7 Leads t o Doubl es f or Amanda Lay by TheNclusion+Editing Team
?When I was 16, I saw her for the first time, at Pride. She wore a beautiful gold dress, walked with grace, and on her head sat a crown.?It was that moment that Wayne Boykin-Rudolph started to become Amanda Lay. The titleholder he watched with admiration was the then-current, Miss Gay City of Columbia Missouri America of 2006 - Miranda L'Amour. We all find our passion and focus at some point but Wayne found his passion in Amanda, early. Amanda Lay was metaphorically born that day but graced the stage first in 2008 when she competed in her first contest and took her original credit as 1st Alternate of Miss Mizzou 2008. Later returning for tiger-like vengeance and snagging the title of Miss Power Diva Mizzou 2009 and beginning her climb and claim to fame. Along her 13 year career, Amanda Lay has made a stake in almost every local pageant and is infamous for her 7 attempts to seize the crown that brought her to life. ?Winning the crown and being named Miss Gay City of Columbia, Missouri America is a dream come true,?Amanda, said in an interview with Nclusion+, ?now, I have to
uphold the honor, integrity, and community service expectations of this position. Which, I could NOT be more excited to do.? As a business owner, community activist, and drag legend, Amanda Lay has set an example for drag performers to work towards. Currently, the MGCOCA titleholder is focused on helping Nclusion+ develop programming to bring a unique space to mid-Missouri while also encouraging peaceful justice for our community, especially the Community Members of Color. I stand with them. I will fight for them. There is no justice until we are all equal and it?s my duty to call other?s to action, right now!? Amanda Lay advises those who want to learn more about peaceful protesting to reach out to her on Facebook and for those that can?t or don?t want to be on the frontline, she says: ?there?s more than one way to fight a fight. I appreciate anyone sharing the idea and using their time and resources to push equality one step further forward. Your community thanks you- and I thank you, too.?

Peace, Lov e, & Har mony Bea Jay Enidea As so many Queens before her, Bea Jay Enidae found herself after watching RuPaul?s Drag Race. Unlike others, though, that find themselves inspired by the talented performers, elegant designers, and hilarious comedians- no, Bea Jay found herself entranced by the ?Pit Crew? and thought ?I?ve gotta get me some of that!? and like a Siren calling to a passing boat of Sailors, Bea Jay brought herself to life and is known for her live-vocal performances.
?I don?t do this because it makes me a lot of money.? Said, Enidae, ?I do this- singing, dragging, and all that- because I like to have fun and I want people to have fun with me.? That?s why Bea Jay Enidae is working with Nclusion, Inc to bring to life a long-sought-after dream of hosting a monthly karaoke extravaganza.
While being Columbia?s sexy songbird, is her claim to fame. This Drag Queen is the daughter of legendary stage-rocker, Zoey Adams. While Enidae explains that she didn?t get her mom?s dancing genes, ?I'm like a beautiful, seductive goose awkwardly flailing upon touchdown into a serene lake.? she goes on to add that she certainly has learned so much from her and has appreciated Adam?s guidance all these years. Bea Jay included that ?Even though she's a known talented dancer, and I'm not. She's really helped me mature my taste without giving up what I liked, and encourages me to find my own path to greatness, helping me however she can.? Acting like the true Drag Mother we all want and love to have.
From her first debut during Muffie?s Guys and Dolls Drag Show with Veronica Versace to now. Bea Jay Enidae has had a drag journey worth talking about and now you?ll get to see one of her most favorite ways to entertain if you attend the Karaoke Enidae nights coming up.
A Cl oser Look at Col umbia Queen... Mahajanay DeMornay A decorated career of hosting, pageant winning, entrepreneurship, and community empowerment has been the focus of Mahajanay Demornay. This Missouri Legend is known around town for currently hosting their own Drag Show, Fish Fry Fridays at Plush Lounge in Columbia, Missouri. As well as taking to the Nclusion+Stage from time to time. Yet, that?s just the current day scope for Mahajanay. One of the goals of the Nclusion+Magazine is to showcase and highlight the stories of our LGBTQIA+Community. In doing so, we want to profile the career accomplishments of this Columbia Queen. Being one of the only Queens recognized with titles in multiple states, Demornay, holds pageant and competition awards in Missouri, Illinois, and Tennessee. While also having fought hard to win: Miss Rising Star 2005, Miss SoCo Survivor 2005, Miss City of Columbia America 2006, and even the coveted Miss Missouri Entertainer of the Year. Mahajanay?s decoration of awards even includes cute and fun earned titles like Miss Mistletoe and Miss Columbia Pride. Yet, most notable of all Mahajanay Demornay is a National titleholder (Miss North American International, crowned April 2015). "It was my first ever national achievement and it felt like an accomplishment beyond measure," Demornay told us, "it said to me that hard work really does pay off." While awards and recognitions are nice to have. The true award of Pride has been in the inner reward that Demornay finds in building up and fighting for the community she cares about. Out of drag, Mahajana Demornay becomes Roy Lovelady. Equally as decorated, as their drag persona, Roy utilizes every hour awake to be productive. That effort channels itself into Roy?s many talents. Many entertainers require a crew to help them bring a creative idea forward. Roy and Mahajanay are their creative team. Roy is known around mid-Missouri as a talented hairstylist and hip-hop dance instructor. Both of those talents eventually became Lovelady?s career focus and entrepreneurial endeavors. As one could imagine, focusing on those talents and skills only helped Roy refine Mahajanay to the triple threat people know her as today. They say as you rise through the ranks you can become unapproachable, hardened, and elitist. Yet, Mahajanay follows a path of helping others become better, celebrate their differences, and reach for the stars. Learn more about Mahajanay Demornay by attending an upcoming Nclusion+Show or by running into her at Plush Lounge during one of the shows she hosts.

Welln ess w it h William Wr it t en wit h Wil l iamHaines & TheNcl usion St af f One of the tenants of Nclusion is Education. In this article, we sit down with Columbia, Missourian William Haines to discuss all things Wellness. William is a professional beauty advisor, Esthetician, and fitness nut. So, if you?re seeking a way to get healthier, stay well, or change your habits. You might find it here, with advice and tips from William, himself. ?To start,?he said, ?you have to understand your habits and routines. Then you plan a goal of where you want to be or what you want to change. Lastly, you just have to focus and do.?As simple as it sounds, we explored what each bit of advice meant and came up with suggestions for you with William to help apply the advice. Habits are the core of everything we do as people. Some habits are long cycles and some are shorter patterns. William suggests that if we want to change and become healthier we must first ?understand your habits and routines.?this can be done by taking a journal, using an app, or even just reflecting on life through peaceful meditation. ?Think about the habits you want to change and think about what happens to you before and after you make the action, you might find a trigger?. Goal setting is the next key piece in Haines?Wellness Approach. ?Whether you?re trying to lose weight, stop smoking, or manage your emotions better, you should note what you want the result to look like.?If goals are set too large, they can become defeating. Therefore, it?s important to create objectives or milestones along the way to larger goals. This will help you stay engaged, encouraged, and invested in the long-term success you?re after. Lastly, it?s all about focus and execution. Just like in any workplace- you can plan all you want but nothing happens until action is taken. ?Take it day by day. Celebrate every small win. Keep yourself accountable.?Haines continued with, ?No one is going to make you change. You can?t be forced. It has to happen naturally, on your terms, and because you want it most of all.? When you?re going through a process like this, it can be challenging and each day can be a struggle to stay on track. Slip-ups will happen now and then. The best thing you can do is ?love yourself through it and get back on track tomorrow?Haines reassured us. To manage your stress and adapt to the newness of whatever you?re adjusting to, William suggests meditating, doing yoga, getting some physical activity in, or exercising your creativity with an art form that feels right to you. Now, what habit or routine do you want to change?Do you think this process will help you with that at all?Let us know your thoughts, feelings, and suggestions for the next issue?s Wellness with William segment.

Wedding & Ev ent s TheTal eof Two Gays: Every marriage starts with a love story. In this day and age, a majority of couples find each other online. Not the case for the couple due to be married soon, if COVID will ever let that happen. Like so many couples that were planning their weddings in 2019 to enjoy in 2020, Anthony and Chris have been faced with the pressure of the unknown and ultimately a rescheduling of their originally intended August wedding. Now, rescheduled and slated for November, in St. Louis. Stepping back in time with the couple, they tell us what it?s like to find each other, find love, and find a way to have a wedding in the age of Coronavirus. It was 2014 when the couple met, ?we met through various social gatherings where we knew mutual people.?Plogger said and then continued with, ?We drifted apart for some time but a mutual friend reconnected us in late-2017. We have been inseparable since.? In every relationship, there is a cornerstone event or a build-up of a feeling to the point where you know you want to spend the rest of your life together. For Anthony Plogger and Chris Lehman, they unanimously said it was when they spent time together with each other?s families. Plogger told a story of a cruise that gave him the feeling of wanting to say ?I do!? ?We were on a cruise with my family. The whole time we were on the trip he was able to handle my family?s crazy antics. I thought to myself, if anyone can handle being trapped with them for 7 days in the middle of the ocean is worth keeping.?Lehman chimed in with, ?I knew it was time to say yes when I realized I love his family more and more every time we were together. From easygoing grandmothers to small-town parents, and big-city cousins? every family member has a unique personality that I connect with easily. Being in a serious relationship, you have to push each other positively in their professional and personal life. Anthony does that for me. So does Nclusion.? While their relationship was an easy blossom of love. Their wedding planning was not- despite their best planning. The couple faced countless challenges with delays, rescheduling fittings, and more even after having had planned 75% or more of the wedding within the first month of their engagement.
With digital wedding trends on the rise, the Plogger said, ?I honestly hadn?t thought of digital wedding trends. I have considered if we have to restrict the number of people who come to the wedding (if it is still able to happen). However, I would consider Facebook Livestreaming the service.? Lehman agrees digital streaming would be great ?if people will tune in?and is more or less thankful that they picked awesome caterers that were being incredibly flexible with all the changes and uncertainties. As we discussed traditional versus non-traditional wedding ceremonies the couple stated that they would be doing the traditional cake cutting ceremony and first dances but otherwise the wedding is aimed to be pretty non-traditional. With Lehman adding, ?We?re not having a flower girl or ushers? we?d rather people mingle and sit wherever and enjoy themselves.? Yet, you can?t keep these two gays from a traditional post-wedding honeymoon vacation. ?My aunt is gifting us a 13-day honeymoon but we still do not know where.? Anthony exclaimed, ?She says it is a surprise and won?t know until the day we leave. She is the fun aunt and never disappoints on a good vacation.? Even though it hasn?t been the easiest year for weddings it would seem that the Plogger-Lehman couple is making the best of it, being as flexible as can be for their guests' safety, and is eagerly awaiting the vacation after they exchange vows and update their last names. Mol t y n DecadencE Discusses Inspir at ion Behind The Fashionabl eY Fishy St y l e!
?A smell, a poem or even someone I pass on the street can trigger a response from my imagination?Moltyn Decadence, of Kansas City, opens up to Nclusion+Magazine about what inspires her constant rollout of Fishy Fashion. Moltyn continued to explain that her background of design and drag started with being an imaginative creative. ?I?ve always been an avid dreamer and journalist so I will explore even the strangest fantasy. What I love most about drag is that with planning even the most unusual inspiration can be put to good use with proper planning and a handful of rhinestones.?And with that, Decadence never disappoints her fans. During the adjustment phase of stay-at-home orders, show cancellations, and public health stipulations, Moltyn has gone more online to keep her fans entertained. Building her fanbase began 16 years ago, this past Spring, when Moltyn stepped on stage in Lansing, Michigan for a college fundraiser. Those steps she took were monumental. Since starting drag, Decadence says that she hasn?t gone more than a week or two without performing to some degree. The 17-title holding drag queen says that she?s ready for another pageant but for now she?s simply thankful for ?my health and I?m grateful that I?m still finding new lessons to learn every day.? When we explored how to make the current pandemic a fashion-forward time, the trendsetter said, ?? with COVID-19 we have to be safe, especially when gigs are harder to come by than ever before. Mask wearing is one of the simplest ways we can protect ourselves and our loved ones so making a mask fashionable just takes a bit of elbow grease and a dash of personality. I like to start with the proper safety materials, then decorate to taste.?and continued by ending our interview with an impressive statement that confirmed why we wanted to interview Moltyn Decadence, to begin with, she said, ?when we look back at the fashions we wore & what we did while surviving this pandemic. I intend to look back at sickening fashions and a ferocious fight against systematic oppression.?Fashion has always existed to be a form of entertainment, expression, and individuality. Moltyn?s fashion is definitely decadence. Read below for some of Moltyn?s Always and Rarely list. Check back next issue as we profile another fishy and fashionable icon.
