Here, you’ll be able to gaze at Jackie’s original paintings, enjoy a scintillating visit to the Lost Spells Den where you’ll hear Rachel Newton’s bespoke soundtrack, and even have the chance to peer into a wild landscape where a hive of activity awaits! Our chums at The Common Room have a brilliant family open day taking place this September, and if exploring the North’s industrial heritage through vibrant art, cool poetry and creative writing sounds like just the ticket, then a trip over to Westgate Road exploring their new exhibition, Digging Deep! A bold new display centred around Stella Chadwick’s stunning Black Miner Stained Glass Window, Digging Deep uncovers the hidden histories of black miners and engineers in the North East. As part of the exhibition, you and your gang will create your own piece of art inspired by Stella masterpiece, engage in sensational storytime and even take a stab at creative writing inspired by the exhibition.
