In the creation story, obviously one of the greatest stories ever told, we wanted to stay away from retelling the Adam and Eve story and focus on the six days of creation. Adam and Eve are portrayed on the sixth day, but most of the book vividly showcases the heavens, fish, birds, land animals and vegetation. It’s a sweeping book using the classic Toy Chest as the creative source from which all things are created. The Toy Chest is God’s play place. It is from this workshop of His imagination that He creates the world and through which he gives us life. A toy chest is also the place of a child’s imagination. It is where his or her best toys are kept. We wanted even the youngest of children to understand creation. To understand there is a “source” for their existence and for all that they see around them.
