IDDP International Day of Disabled People

Every year, on 3 December, IDDP is celebrated across the world promoting awareness of disability, rights of disabled people and the integration of disabled people into local communities. IDDP 2011 has a special significance, as it comes in the run up to the London Paralympics August 2012, showcasing the talent, ability and dedication of disabled athletes. To link with this event the theme for Remploy’s IDDP celebrations is “Aiming High - Achieving More”, which has relevance to Remploy, the Paralympics and promoting abilities of disabled people.

Case Study Remploy furniture recently completed a major project, Longfield Academy. The new build will support 1150 students, including a leading Spectrum centre, dedicated to educating children with Autism. Included within the build is a new two-storey community sports hall, multi-gym, activity studio, theatre and dining facility.
