Portfolio
Cordiali saluti,

THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL LANDSCAPE OF BOCA DO RIO
ALA Master Thesis’ Project Proposal
Tutors: J. Mendes Ribeiro, J. Bernardes, M. conceição
2023 l Vila do Bispo, Portugal
Boca do Rio witnessed a series of occupations by Man over time, including the establishment in Roman-era of a Salted-Fish-Industry. The estuary, a mediator between three river streams and the sea, emerges as a central point within a broader archaeological context, but it lacks legibility due to its current configuration, traversed by a recently built parking lot.
After a careful study of the role of the area in an expanded territory, considering its historical human settlement, it was concluded that Boca do Rio is an archaeological landscape.
The developed research unfolds in the proposal of sev¬eral interventions at the site, encompassing a network of trails, the insertion of archaeological markers, and the de-velopment of an architectural project based on excavating and revealing historical structures.

URBAN INTERVENTION IN PIANURA
w/ Enzo de Dio, Mario Carvalhal
Tutor: Francesca Coppolino, Pasquale Miano
International Design Workshop, diARC UNINA
2022 l Naples, Italy
The Neapolitan suburb of Pianura and its fast growth during the 20th century culminated in a fragmented urban fabric. The massive train infrastructure and the predominance of car-oriented spaces generates a series of residual open spaces. The proposal, as part of a larger urban strategy, takes advantage of Archaeology to structure an urban intervention. The Mausoleum of Polo Artigianale and the reconstituted trace of an ancient Roman road become both the focal point and the main axis of the new park, composed of green areas, piazzas, preexisting vineyards expansions, bike paths, and sports and leisure areas. It is expected the integration with the daily life of Pianura community through a complex of buildings, including a Pavilion for Exhibitions, the renovated Polo Artigianale warehouse and a new soft mobility bridge, connecting the southern side of the train rail with the existing station.
SITE PLAN
SAN GALGANO ABBEY MUSEUM
w/ Victória Baggio
Start for History competition
2020 l Chiusdino, Italy
Conceived as a supporting building for the Abbey of San Galgano, the Museum’s primordial white rectangular prism is precisely arranged within the monastic complex. The existing elements define its boundaries and sculpt its subtractions, creating exterior patios and distributing the program layout around a central void. The building promotes fluxes of contraction and expansions, from the inner corridors to the wide openings, generous zenithal lights, and new spaces for conviviality around its serene architecture. The Museum reverberates the landscape, frames particular external elements, bonding it with the internal exhibitions of religious artworks, encouraging visitors for the exploration of the surrounding architecture and landscape.
SÃO PAULO DANCE COMPANY
Final Graduation Work, FAUUSP
Tutor: Marta Bogéa
Examination Board: F. Fanucci, A. C. Barossi and M. Bogéa
2018 / 2019 l São Paulo, Brazil
The São Paulo Dance Company is proposed to be relocated to a new building with proper dimensions and a program dedicated to the needs of the institution. The project foresees not only different appropriations of its space by the dance professionals, but also enhances the conviviality between agents from different art fields and public, articulating other two important cultural buildings and their activities.
It is only possible due to its structural logic, where the new volumetry is supported by walls along the boundaries of the site, opening and setting the block free, suggesting a “cultural corridor” within the city.
PEACE PAVILION
w/ Victória Baggio
Kaira Looro competition
2019 l Sedhiou, Senegal
Conceived as an Architecture exposed to the surroundings and its multiple aspects, the Peace Pavilion boundaries are composed of pivoting walls. Its central opaque monolithic volume hosts the most intimate rooms, stimulating a deeper thought in its visitors, working together with its narrow corridors, developing its role as a transitional space between the main rooms of the Pavilion. The program distribution allows the public to have a transformative experience, perceiving and connecting the Pavilion content with its context, passing from the Exhibition Hall facing the city to the Contemplation area and its contact with the Natural landscape.
CRATER PARK
FAUUSP
Tutors: Alexandre Delijaicov, Angelo Bucci
2018 l São Paulo, Brasil
Drawing from the established urban network within the Colônia Crater, a westeast axis is imagined traversing the districts of Vargem Grande and Colônia, as well as the Sorocabana Railway and the future Billings Dam Ecoport.
Crater Park is conceived as a unifying component for these neighborhoods. Located in the preexisting green area, it is composed of clearings and minimum and maximum elevation levels that intersect the mentioned axis.
Serving as landmarks and infrastructure for the park, two access buildings are constructed, named as “Ponte” (Bridge) and “Rampa” (Ramp), which share the same structural and material logic, but are distinguished by their specific placements: While the first one overcomes the minimum elevation and encloses a public swimming pool, the second one is integrated with local roads and utilizes the maximum elevation of its position to house the park’s viewing point.

SECONDARY SCHOOL CAMPO 24 DE AGOSTO
FAUP
Tutor: João Paulo Loureiro
2016-2017 l Porto, Portugal
Two blocks separate the school’s most restricted program from facilities with potential public use, as an auditorium and a sports court. Their geometric relationship establishes two open spaces, serving as the main access and the building’s courtyard.
The school’s perimeter is sealed by a cotinuos white wall, contrasting with the exposed concrete wall composing the two upper floors. The logic of detaching theses walls from the floor is used to highlight the free spaces, as well as to allow a fluid transition between open and covered spaces.
Two opposing accesses potentializes the public use of the school, which can have its interior converted into a street for the city.
RELIGIOUS LIBRARY
OF ORVIETO
LSA
Tutor: Jamileh Manoochehri
2013-2014 l Orvieto, Italy
Orvieto maintains its architecture and historical urban fabric, relying on this base to be recognized as a “Cittaslow”, in opposition to the dynamics of large cities. Its buildings demonstrate the intuitive capacity of its citizens to build a harmonious, almost theatrical urban landscape, where each street and space plays an essential role in the plot.
The land, between the level difference of Via Della Cava and Via Malabranca is evolved by a rich context, composed of an underground network of passages, gardens, subtle vegetation and one of the few accesses to the walled city, which culminates in Piazza della Republica and in Piazza San Giovenale, two of the main city’s landmarks.
For the Orvieto Religious Library project, there is the search for a design that can be inserted between such ancient elements and, at the same time, capable of contributing to the urban space and the daily life of the city. It is an effort to make the contemporary building act naturally in a classic play.
