There are many groups throughout the Atlanta metro area that are always in need of people willing to donate their time and talents—local churches, senior centers, animal shelters and libraries, for example.

Volunteermatch.org is a website that offers a good start. The site serves several cities in the U.S., including Atlanta, by helping volunteers connect with the causes they care about. Area organizations, as well as local counties and cities, post their volunteer opportunities on the site.
