A year ago, we debuted a new look for Atlanta INtown’s monthly print edition. We were going for a magazine approach with bigger photos and plenty of white space for a clean, refined look. Now, we’ve done the same for our online home at AtlantaINtownPaper.com.

I worked closely with our creative director Rico Figliolini, poring over dozens and dozens of base templates that would be used to build the new site. I didn’t want to completely reinvent our home on the web as much as give it a refresh, and Rico was infinitely patient as I rejected all of the template ideas he sent my way.

I hate a cluttered news and magazine websites where the developer has packed text and photos into every available space. Like our print edition, I wanted the INtown website to be clean and photo-driven with each image and headline to have room to breathe.

When you visit today, you’ll still find all your favorite sections including news and features in The Neighborhood, food reviews in News You Can Eat and arts and culture in The Studio. The “In the Loop” section is still the place to check for the latest or breaking news from around the city.

If you scroll to the bottom of the site on your PC, smartphone or tablet, you’ll also see a new portal to read the digital version of our print edition and a new slideshow highlighting our most recent restaurant reviews.

You’ll also notice there is prominent space for our advertisers, which remain the lifeblood of our operation. If you’re interested in advertising on the site, turn back to Page 3 and contact one of our sales executives today.
