Bonfire & Marshmallow Roast on Decatur Square

The community gathers in Decatur on Thursday, Dec. 15, 7-8 p.m., to roast marshmallows around a 10-foot by 20-foot bonfire that blazes on the square. Holiday music and choral groups add to the festivities. The event is free, but reservations are recommended to be sure there are enough marshmallows and roasting sticks. Light Up Brookhaven

“IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE” MARATHON

Thursday, Dec. 22, 12-9 p.m. Take a break from the holiday frenzy to remember the importance of family and friends with the classic Jimmy Stewart film “It’s a Wonderful Life.” Shows start at 12 p.m., 3 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Get there a half hour early for a holiday preshow and Christmas carol singalong.
