Oh Where, Oh Where did this Map Come From?
In early November, a docent discovered a “doorstep donation” of an early map of Rehoboth when she arrived to open the museum. The map was published by renowned cartographer H. F. Walling in 1850. Importantly, it identifies the owners of houses marked on each street. We ask that the anonymous donor please come forward, as it is important to us to know the history of who owned and used this map. We would also like to be able to thank him or her for the generous gift! This valuable map found a new home at the Carpenter Museum. But who left it on our doorstep?
