Seekonk’s new town administrator
by Laura Calverley Pamela Nolan, Seekonk’s new Town Administrator, has more than twenty years experience in town government and is a fiscal conservative who says that finance is “job 1’ for her. She began the position on July 18 and spent her first week meeting with every department head individually in order to get to know the ins and outs of the town. “That’s been very important to me to do that,” Nolan said. Nolan replaced Michael Carroll, who retired in June after three years as town administrator. Nolan is impressed with what she’s seen so far in Seekonk. “I think here in Seekonk from what I’ve seen in the first week, we have a very good staff. I think the people of Seekonk are lucky that they have this kind of staff,” Nolan said. An important part of the job for Nolan is meeting the needs of residents. “I have to help them solve their problems. I have to keep taxes down so they can afford to live,” Nolan said. Nolan’s extensive experience has shown her that in addition to low taxes, there are several things that residents want. continued on page 4...
