Please Wear Your Masks!
Let’s keep our towns and cities safe from the coronavirus. I see to many people come into stores without masks on. More than 16,500 people now have died from the coronavirus in New England as of Tuesday. Put your mask on and don’t bring it home to your family. It’s getting worse now so let’s try to be better about protecting not only ourselves, but others. Mark Canuel Rehoboth
Solar Farm Opinion
In response to Mr. Siegel’s explanation of the proposed Solar Farm at Camp Buxton at 90 Pond Street, I would like to make it known that there are significant reasons to continue to evaluate the plans and possibly reject them. Residents in proximity have serious reservations and concerns about the project due to its affect on the critical natural landscape and surrounding wetlands. To be fair, the applicant is currently in compliance with Fish and Game and town conservation concerning the wetlands and protected species but there appear to be more errors in the designs which violate current bylaws for this type of project. Such errors demand revision and the required resubmission to appropriate agencies for review. Other such concerns are not limited to the funding supplied by the applicant for removal of the array if the company fails. Residents have been told that there is a plan for removal with funds provided by the applicant but the number seems low. Also there is no way to know that if in 20 years such funding will be enough to remove products that are toxic. I am not sure how the planning board can calculate the projected recycled value of such waste in 20 years time. Further explanation is needed. Considering the Summer Street farm which is non operational and has become nothing more than a town eyesore, it might just be time to augment the town laws to prevent such operations and clear cutting from coming into a right-to-farm community. Mr. Roach stated that these other farms brought in 138,000 dollars of tax revenue for the town but this might not be totally accurate. Has the town considered the loss of tax revenue from the decrease in home values located in proximity to these farms? Do those losses offset and if so aren’t we just trading our trees for pennies? There is evidence that home values do decline within 1 mile of such projects. The point here is that more research should be done. The board has clearly worked hard on this and expended a lot of time and energy. They should see it all the way through. Per bylaw, the board can ask the applicant to provide funding for further study. They can also request the applicant to pay for outside consolation to resolve other issues. Faced with mounting concern from local residents, Mr. Cooper has repeatedly said that the board must follow the bylaws and that is not the member’s job to sell the idea to the public but Mr. Roach appears to be doing just that. The board cannot have it both ways. The town bylaws are clear. The board can reject projects that are deemed, “Offensive, detrimental or inappropriate to adjacent properties or to the neighborhood or for a use which does not substantially serve public health, safety, convenience, welfare or property values in the neighborhood.” If they don’t due their due diligence now, the town could eventually be left with a near 40 acre deforested area which generates nothing but animosity. Once the trees are cut and the land cleared you cannot go back.
November 2020 The Reporter If the board isn’t supposed to base their decision on what they personally believe then there is no need for Mr. Roach to use a fear tactic by stating, “from start to decommissioning it will have less of an impact on the neighborhood than the usual subdivision development, “We don’t know it that is true and to my knowledge there has been no plan proposed for subdivision at 90 Pond Street. Due to the surrounding, protected wetlands who can say it is even possible to make subdivisions or to assume that the Boy Scouts want to lease their land for such projects? Locals will not be scared into allowing another failed project with faulty planning to slide through the planning board. The will of the people matters. Many who live here do so to avoid living in proximity to these projects. Even if the proposal goes through, at the very least it should meet the standards set. The most recent meetings have proven that at a minimum, the applicant has a long way to go and that they do not have the backing of the local community. Chris Seal

Board Games
Is Anyone Listening?
On Wednesday, November 18, 2020 our Board of Selectmen approved the recommendation from the Town Administrator to fill the position of Police Chief. In my lifetime of “active” duty as a citizen of this Town I can not remember any appointment riddled with hypocrisy as much as this one. Stop for a moment to review the process to which they followed. I apologize for the length but in honesty, it was an exceptionally long process. The hiring of a “consulting firm” to receive applications and screen applicants at a cost to the Town estimated at $11,900.00, maybe more, for their services. According to the Town Administrator (2/5/20) the money for these services came from a budget “surplus” left by the previous Chief. Both for Fire and Police. None the less the Town paid for it with money designated for other purposes. It can not be confirmed that the Board of Selectmen approved this as according to the Town Administrator it was a “service agreement” not an “employment contract.” Their approval was not required and therefore never publicly asked for during a meeting. They were TOLD. Apparently, the public did not need to know how our money was being spent either. The Chairman at the time believed, “we owe it to ourselves to look outside for the best possible Candidate.” Time and money wasted. Current personnel ignored. Recommendation #1 by the Town Administrator was presented to the Board after an announcement of the “confirmed” appointment was heard on the 6:00pm local news sometime this past Spring. The Board had not yet voted This recommendation was denied, thankfully and (2) sitting members of the Board vocally supported their choice for the Interim Police Chief, whom by all accounts, was doing a fantastic job. He himself was in the hiring process for permanent appointment as well. Please, keep reading. The Town Administrator and the Member who was on the Selection Committee (now the Chairman) were outraged and upset that the remaining Membership took this negative view. You might say it was tantrum worthy. They carried on about the excellence of “their” choice and how he was the “perfect” person for the job. Please, keep reading. Weeks passed and suddenly, the Town Administrator announces withdrawal of that Candidate because, “we decided to go in another direction.” Truth be told the impending recommendation had a tainted record and therefore was unsuitable for our Department or any Department. THAT IS WHAT THE TOWN ADMINISTRATOR CALLED A “DIFFERENT DIRECTION”. The process then continued during which the (2) sitting Members originally supporting the now Deputy Chief (they promoted him from Interim) stood firm on their opinions that he was the best person for the job permanently. The Town Administrator would not recommend him. According to Charter he must. In June 2020, the Town Administrator makes another recommendation (an outsider) and this time with the face of the Board changed, it was approved pending a background check. During the lengthy process and between the first and second recommendations, the Deputy Chief proceeded to do the job and has led the Department with the most positive of attitude and professionalism, duty, and responsibility. He has continued to do so even though he withdrew his name as a candidate. He must have known something we did not. Please, keep reading. November 12, 2020, the Agenda for the Board Meeting is scheduled/posted at 3:50pm for Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 7:00pm. Looks like an ordinary meeting, with a Public Hearing for the FY2021 Tax Classification. Please, keep reading. Protocol for public meetings has been altered due to COVID-19 and by direction of the Board of Selectmen a form to submit questions or comments for the “Community Speaks” had to be in Town Hall electronically by the following Monday at noon time. On Monday, November 16, 2020 at 3:36pm the “amended” agenda is distributed and the appointment for Police Chief and approval of the contract are newly added items. The cut off time for public inclusion had passed. To further complicate matters, a Code Red Alert was issued closing all municipal buildings to the public until further notice. Presumably, this meant no audience would be allowed at the Selectmen’s meeting or maybe they were going to proceed virtually. The public did not know. Either way no comments allowed. When Wednesday, November 18th arrived, the meeting proceeded in person. Of course, there was no opposition present to speak an opinion however, there was (1) sitting Selectmen that looked to the Department and what is best for the Town and he said NO. Just one. Thank you, David Viera for standing up and being the lone person on that Board who exercised common sense. Doing the right thing even if you stand alone is exemplary. To say this appointment is not qualified would be unjust. This Chief may very well be qualified in his Administrative duties. That remains to be seen. Perhaps if others who were dismissed under the cover of retirement were treated the same, it would be acceptable, but they were not. They were treated different. Dismissed, gone, and retired because they did not behave or perform with the excellence required no, demanded, by the Board of Selectmen and the Town Administrator. How is this situation different? The Town Administrator was quoted as saying he knew the “situation” and it was fully disclosed. When? During the application process? During the interview process? Or was it when they were negotiating a contract? WHEN DID THE TOWN ADMINISTRATOR KNOW THE ENTIRE “SITUATION AND WHAT EXACTLY IS THE “SITUATION?” At some point you have to draw a line down the conference table and ask the question are you working for the best interest
November 2020 The Reporter of the Town of Seekonk OR are you self-serving and blinded by ego to not admit a mistake and are willing to jeopardize the integrity and credibility of our Police Department? Time will tell, I guess. I will always have continued respect and support for our Seekonk Police, Fire and EM Services. They are stuck working at the behest of Politicians. These Board Games are getting annoying on so many levels. This is disheartening also and will cause this voter to rethink alliances. Do the job and do not politic me. Think about “that line”, your intentions and strength to stand alone if you must. Seekonk comes first. This applies to all employees as well as residents. This recent action has called to question the meaning of equal opportunity employment. The passion I feel about the people who serve us in blue and the disregard of the Board and the TA left me no choice but to pass this on to you. I am extremely angry at the road they chose that we paid for and will continue to with a contract obligation. #BELIEVEINSEEKONKPD #STANDBYENOS (still) Doreen Taylor- Seekonk, MA
Property Damage from Gunshsots
Gun shots causing property damage are occurring in North Seekonk. As a recent recipient of one of these attacks by an unknown perpetrator, I am faced with a thousand dollar deductible on the bill for replacing a large patio door window that has been shattered by the idiot who has been irresponsibly shooting off a gun around dusk on a number of days during this autumn. The shot that struck our house may have come from Caratunk, or it may have come from streets like Cedar Terrace or Brown Avenue, but someone in that general area should know who is doing this. Seekonk Police have been notified. The law is being broken, and even worse may result if this shooter is not identified. If anyone knows who is recklessly disturbing the peace, please notify Seekonk Police. Thanking you, Barbara Lesko

Rehoboth Town News From the Clerk
From everyone at The Reporter Laura Schwall
Our family treating your family for generations
Hello All ~ I hope this article finds you all healthy and safe along with having an enjoyable Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, 2020 Thanksgiving Day was a bit different for us all due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, State social distancing/gathering mandates and the rise in positive cases in Rehoboth. Even though we were unable to meet with as many friends and family on Thanksgiving as we would have liked, I personally believe we all a lot to be thankful for. I know I am extremely thankful that we have successfully made it through three socially distant, COVID-19 free elections (6-30-2020; 9-1-2020 and 11-3-2020). I would personally like to thank everyone involved with all three elections for all your efforts in keeping our election workers and voters healthy and safe during a pandemic. I am praying we all continue to be healthy and safe during Rehoboth’s last 2020 town wide voting event – the delayed Annual Town Meeting scheduled for December 1, 2020. Finally, I am thankful several vaccines seem promising and hopefully a vaccine will be approved soon so we all can be free of the COVID-19 worry, health concerns and isolation. May we all have a better 2021.

If you are unsure, please give the office a call and we can let you know what we have in our database. Dog owners should note that the license(s) will not be returned unless a stamped, self-addressed envelope is included (the current postage will be printed on the dog license application). For your information, we are hoping to hold our Annual Rabies Vaccination Clinic again this year; however, we are awaiting direction from the State and local veterinarian to see if it will be possible to hold once the State of Emergency is lifted. For scheduling purposes, we hope the Rabies Clinic date will be Saturday, March 13th, 2021; however, that is dependent on the current pandemic and veterinarian availability. We will let you know once the date, location and time is set. Details will hopefully be printed in the 2021 Town Census mailer. If you are returning your dog tag application, as well as your census forms, residents are asked to return their completed forms via mail, e-mail, or place their form in the Town Hall drop box at 148 Peck Street. NOTE: Residents are requested to please send in their census forms as quickly as possible regardless of whether or not they license their dogs at this time.

Lynn, Odete and I would like to wish you all a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season! We wish peace, HEALTH and prosperity to all Rehoboth residents for the New Year. It is truly an honor to serve as your Town Clerk for the past seven years ~ thank you all for enriching my life every day!!! Thank you all for an unforgettable 2020, which will permanently be marked as a year of unpredictable situations in Rehoboth’s and our Nation’s archives. Even though 2020 has been a scary, unpredictable and incredibly sad year due to so many losses, I thank the record number of Rehoboth voters, who valued and participated in the voting process (whether by mail, in-person early or in-person election day), during a pandemic, safely and socially distant from each other, as mandated by the Governor and State Health Officials. Prayerfully 2021 will be a much better year for us all. Please stay healthy and safe. Happy Holidays ~ I look forward to talking with you again in January. Sincerely, Laura, Lynn & Odete

New Rehoboth Senior Center in the Works
By Joe Siegel Two months after the fire which destroyed the town’s senior center at 55 Bay State Road, plans for a new facility are in the works. Alternative locations are being considered by the newly formed COA Advisory Board. Selectman Michael Costello will serve as the board chairman. Ryan DuVally will serve as the Vice-Chair. The other members include Selectman Dave Perry, Building Inspector William McDonough, and Ron Whittemore, a member of the Council on Aging Board of Directors. Costello promised the construction process for the new senior center would be more efficient. “There were a lot of things that weren’t done properly (the first time),” Costello said. In the meantime, the COA staff is working out of an annex at 183 Winthrop Street. They can be reached by calling 508-252-3372.

Rehoboth Gets One Million in CARES Funding
By Joe Siegel The town has received nearly $1 million in funding from the CARES Act. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act was passed by Congress with overwhelming, bipartisan support and signed into law by President Trump on March 27th. $100,000 will be used to replace computers in town, according to Selectman Gerry Schwall. $30,000 will be spent to increase remote work capability by finishing the permitting project. “(Residents) will be able to go online and get their permits,” Schwall said Monday. $27,000 will be spent to upgrade the telephone system for every building and every department in the town. $63,000 will be designated to upgrade the town’s computer network. The police and fire department’s computer networks will also be integrated, at a cost of $5000. The funds will also be used to pay for a part-time town nurse and to replenish the town’s PPE supply. “We want to make sure that we have all the different things we’re going to need after the first of the year,” Schwall noted. Schwall thanked the administration of Governor Charlie Baker for their assistance in securing the CARES funding for Rehoboth. Any funds which are not spent by the end of December have to be returned at the beginning of January to the state. “I know we can make these things happen before the end of the year,” Schwall added.

Residents who attended Rehoboth’s December 1 town meeting at the Ramada Inn in Seekonk were required to sit six feet apart and to wear masks due to fears of spreading Covid-19. Town Moderator William Cute spoke to the 90 attendees with a plexiglass shield in front of him. All of the articles were related to town finances, which included setting the salaries of town officials such as the Board of Selectmen, the Town Clerk, the Town Treasurer, and the Tree Warden. Voters approved $19, 479, 237 to pay for the costs and expenses of the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District, and $4.5 million from the town’s insurance proceeds to design, construct, and furnish a new senior center. A fire destroyed the old facility at 55 Bay State Road on September 12.

The Seekonk Scene The Clerk’s Corner
Happy December- It is hard to believe that in a few short weeks 2020 will be over. Speaking for the Town Clerk’s office it has been one heck of a roller coaster ride. First and foremost, we had to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic which set the stage for a difficult year. As a result, we adapted new ways to run our office. When closed to the public we made appointments and met with people Florice Craig outside to notarize, or fill out marriage intention papers. We had to postpone elections, town meetings, BOS meetings. Town committees had to learn new ways to meet through Zoom. We had four elections under unprecedented conditions. The State introduced multiple changes to the State Election Laws some permanent and others that will expire December 31st. We survived mail in early voting and in-person early voting for the biggest event of the year the November 3rd 2020 Election. An election that will definitely go down in the history books. Below are the results from that election. It was an excellent turn out almost 80 percent of our town voted. Great job citizens of Seekonk. Seekonk Town Meeting Postponed to 2021
By Joe Siegel Seekonk’s fall town meeting, which had been scheduled for December 5, has been postponed to January 4, 2021. Town Moderator Peter Hoogerzeil made the decision to continue the meeting from November 9 to December 5 due to the rising rate of Covid-19 infections in Massachusetts. “Since that time, the number of people diagnosed with COVID-19 has increased at the local, state and national level,” Hoogerzeil wrote in a message posted to the town website – www. seekonk-ma.gov. “Therefore, this is to declare a further recess and continuance of the November 9, 2020 meeting to Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Seekonk High School at 7:00 p.m.” Hoogerzeil added: “I have issued this Declaration after careful and considerable deliberation about the implications of the rapid spread of the disease, present lack of containment, and risk to most vulnerable populations inherent in large public gatherings at this time, as well as the particular increase of COVID-19 cases in Seekonk.”
Seekonk Selectmen Approve Police Chief Contract
By Joe Siegel Police Chief Dean Isabella’s contract, which has been approved by the Board of Selectmen, will run through December 2023. The board voted to appoint Isabella at their November 18 meeting. Chairman Justin Sullivan, Chris Zorra, David Andrade, and Adam Petronio were in favor of the appointment, with David Viera opposed. The board selected Isabella for the position last June, but an investigation into his background was not completed until recently. Isabella will be paid $140,000 for the first year of the contract, $142,800 for the second year, and $145,656 for the third year. Isabella worked for the Department of Children, Youth, and Families in Rhode Island as assistant director of Child Services, overseeing the Child Protective Services unit that investigates child abuse. Isabella, who lives in Narragansett, had been a member of the Providence Police Department since 1987 and retired as a captain in 2019. Isabella will succeed Acting Chief David Enos, who had served on an interim basis following the retirement of Frank John in July 2019. John had been placed on administrative leave in March 2019 after being in the position for six months. At the time, Enos had been appointed to serve as Deputy Chief.

The volunteers and clients of the Doorways Food Pantry would like to thank the residents of the Town of Seekonk for the enormously generous response to help Doorways continue our mission to care for the neediest among us. This year has been an extremely difficult one for Doorways, with sharp increases in the number of clients served and even sharper increases in the cost of feeding those clients. But the community has responded in our time of need, supporting us at levels not seen before. We have seen a great many food drives by schools, churches, private businesses and civic organizations, as well as countless private individuals stopping by to make donations large and small. One local church donated thirty turkeys at Thanksgiving, while a local businessman and his family donated another thirty-two turkeys. We have received hundreds of donations since the pandemic hit – some quite modest, some quite substantial – that have combined together to keep food on the dinner tables of homes throughout our community. Early in November, Doorways began its twentieth year in operation. That first week, seven families were served. This year, eighty families received a Thanksgiving meal through the Doorways food pantry. Over the course of the twenty years, hundreds and hundreds of families have received necessary support, and over one and a half million pounds of food has been distributed – all at no cost to our clients, and all made possible by the generosity of the people of Seekonk. Our gratitude is boundless - we are humbled by your support, awed by your generosity, and hopeful for the future. We give thanks for all you do, and ask the Lord’s blessing on you and your families this holiday season and in the coming year.

SeekonKindness Captures the Spirit of World Kindness Day Established in 1998, World Kindness Day is an international holiday that promotes kindness throughout the world. It is observed annually on November 13 as part of the World Kindness Movement. The purpose of World Kindness Day is to “highlight good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness which binds us.” (https://nationaltoday.com/ world-kindness-day) Benjamin Benson and Mike DiPietro prepare to post the SeekonKindness shares this SeekonKindness yard sign same spirit. Created to connect Seekonk residents during the early days of the pandemic through kindness, it has grown as a central place to share random acts of kindness, inspiring photos, stories, poems and opportunities to help one another. The campaign just unveiled its new lawn signs to spread the word throughout the community. “While World Kindness Day is just one day during the year, you don’t need a special holiday to spread kindness through simple gestures,” said Anne Miller, President of the Seekonk Library Trust Board of Directors and Irene Frechette, President of the Friends of the Seekonk Public Library, in a joint statement. “Celebrating and sharing acts of kindness reminds us we live in a world where good things happen. And in this world, we can count on our library to be welcoming to all and to be a community place for kindness and connections. The Seekonk Library Trust and the Friends of the Seekonk Public Library built and manage the SeekonKindness Facebook page with the ethos that kindness strengthens community--just as the library’s mission strengthens community. During the COVID-19 shutdown, sharing stories of how Seekonk residents were responding with kindness helped us all “be in it together”. The SeekonKindness Facebook page continues to expand with more and more posts and the number of people engaged. “If you are looking for a quick boost of positivity, check it out,” said Miller and Frechette. “Like the page, comment, send in your post, and share it with your friends to help spread the magic which occurs from a simple act of kindness.”

Ann-Marie Bandieri, an employee of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, nominated the organization for the award. Funds will be used to purchase food and supplies for pet adoptions.
December 2020 The Reporter To commemorate those Harvard Pilgrim members who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, Harvard Pilgrim and the Foundation created the Community Spirit 9/11 Mini-Grant program. This program allows each Harvard Pilgrim employee to award a $500 grant, completely funded by the Foundation, to the local charity of his or her choice each calendar year. Since this community grants program began in 2002, Harvard Pilgrim employees have directed more than $6.8 million to thousands of organizations throughout Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. “Now more than ever, as nonprofits across the region are dealing with the impact of COVID-19, we are committed to supporting their efforts to care for their communities,” said Karen Voci, President of the Harvard Pilgrim Foundation. “We are so fortunate to have generous and engaged employees who help strengthen Harvard Pilgrim and the communities where we all live and work.” In 2019, 96% of Harvard Pilgrim employees participated in at least one form of service or giving through volunteering, the MiniGrants program, or Harvard Pilgrim’s annual Employee Fundraising Campaign.

The 300th Anniversary Committee unveiled a banner on the front of the church with the anniversary logo thanks to the help of the Rehoboth Fire Department. Minister Sarah Weaver, the 300th Committee and others in attendance socially distanced included Sarah Cogar, the church member who designed the logo. They honored the establishment of the Church by Reverend David Turner and the ten founding members who organized it with their families. In this unusual year, masks with the logo were created and worn by all and will be distributed to Church members. The Second Precinct Palmer River Meeting House of Rehoboth (RCC’s predecessor) was commenced building in 1717 after approval of the General Court in Boston. Newman Congregational Church, United Church of Christ News COVID-19 Memorial moves ONLINE
Inspired by The New York Times’ May 24th front page listing of the names of 1,000 people who have died due to COVID-19, Newman UCC created a Memorial on its front lawn to honor our Rhode Island neighbors who have died. Individual ribbons were placed on the church’s fence line, each signifying a life lost. As the numbers changed daily, additional ribbons were added. Jim Lamonte is back in class at Bridgewater State after a twodecade hiatus. Only this time he has two very special schoolmates by his side: his children, Mya and Tyler. “When I went to Bridgewater, I loved Bridgewater. I still love Bridgewater,” Lamonte said. “To be able to go back and share this experience with them has been an absolutely awesome opportunity.” Jim Lamonte initially studied aviation, and he was close to graduating when finances became tight. But, he had progressed far enough as a pilot to find a flying job and he left school before finishing his degree. In the intervening years, in addition to raising Mya and Tyler, he switched careers, starting the nonprofit K9 PTSD Center. The organization heals retired police dogs suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. Dogs, like their human handlers, can develop PTSD and behavioral changes after encountering stressful, violent situations. Among his canine clients is Dakota, who responded during the 2013 manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombers in Watertown. “It’s the most fulfilling job I’ve ever had in my life, just to work with these dogs,” Lamonte said. Expecting to complete his bachelor’s degree in December, he decided to return to school now because of the online class offerings during the pandemic. He is studying psychology with the goal of pursuing a PhD that allows him to expand his organization’s research about dogs and PTSD. “It’s pretty cool,” said daughter Mya, a freshman who is considering majoring in psychology. “It shows how much he values education.” For now, Lamonte said he’s relishing the unique opportunity to take college classes at the same time as his two children. “One thing I love about Bridgewater is the incredible cultural diversity,” he said. “I wanted them to continue to be exposed to cultural diversity.” The trio has each other to lean on for support as they navigate remote learning from their Seekonk home. There’s even a friendly rivalry over who earns the best grades. “It’s better to go through as a team,” said Tyler, a transfer student studying accounting and finance as a member of the Class of 2023. “It’s competitive. We’re striving to be better.” The siblings say they also appreciate their father’s commitment to education. “It’s a positive thing to look up to,” Mya said. “This is something that makes him really happy.”

Scouts from Cub Scout Troop 88 held a curbside drop-off food collection before Thanksgiving with three collection points in Rumford and Seekonk. The food drive was very successful, with the food donations filling the carts at Doorways to overflowing. “We wanted to do something to help the scouts understand the need in the community, and how we can take action to help” said the scout leader. “With younger kids, seeing a pile of food building all morning before their eyes is a good way to get a sense of accomplishment and purpose.” To the volunteers at Doorways, it was more than a pile – it was a mountain of food. We thank the scouts and their moms and dads for their help in this time of need.

“Scouting for Food” - BSA Troops 1 & 9 Food Drive to Benefit Doorways
The Boy Scouts of America have conducted food drives in November for many years, but that tradition was threatened to be cancelled due to the Covid pandemic. But the scouts are always resourceful, and they adapted their food drive from a door-to-door collection to a contactless drop-off of donations at three locations in town. At the end of the drive, the scouts loaded several cars to deliver the food to Doorway food pantry. The food they collected will become part of the holiday dinners for over seventy families throughout our community. The scouts have also been a continuing presence at Doorways’ food distributions, helping to deliver curbside groceries with a smile (under a mask, of course!) Doorways salutes the young men and women of Troops 1 and 9 for their commitment to community service. Thank you!

Holiday Lights Make Spirits Bright
This time of year I always envy hibernating bears sleeping through winter, but especially this year. Wouldn’t it be great to be asleep for the next few months and then wake up in the spring to find out that things have got much better? The biggest light display around is Gillette Stadium’s “Magic of Lights”. This is a mile-long drive-through holiday lights display featuring LED lights and digital animations. Find out more on https:// magicoflights.com/events/foxborough/. The display includes a Blizzard Tunnel, the 12 Days of Christmas, Winter Wonderland, and the Night before Christmas. This event will continue through Jan. 2. Tickets are $35 per vehicle (not per person). La Salette Shrine https://lasaletteattleboroshrine.org/ will again offer their Christmas light display, but this year things may be a little different. There is no entrance fee or reservations needed at this popular Attleboro event, but visitors are requested to read the shrine’s guidelines on keeping social distance and wearing masks before their visit. The shrine website notes that the Christmas celebration will take place every night though Jan. 2 from 5 to 9 p.m. and suggests trying to visit during the week to avoid weekend crowds. Two historic mansions in Rhode Island, Blithewold in Bristol and The Breakers in Newport, are offering special outdoor light displays. Both historic houses are also open, with limitations and restrictions in place, for indoor visits through the holidays too, but there are plenty of sparkling lights to enjoy if you just want to stay outdoors (which would be my choice this holiday season.) The theme at Blithewold is “Night Lights – An Illuminating Experience!” and it will run through Jan. 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. (Closed on Mondays). The organizers say, “Beautifully lit paths throughout the grounds will reveal stunning custom light displays, handmade bamboo ornaments, virtual-reality stops, selfie photo opportunities, and all the beauty that Blithewold’s gardens and arboretum have to offer. And, the whole family can enjoy an interactive all-ages illuminated scavenger hunt!” On Wednesday and Saturday nights, they will be serving hot drinks (either with or without alcohol). “Night Lights” is free for Blithewold members; Non-members: $10 for adults and $5 for children. Pre-registration is essential. You can choose the evening you want to visit on their website: https://www. blithewold.org/ At the Breakers, the traditional holiday evenings with live music and Sundays with Santa will not be offered this year. However, they are making up for it with a new outdoor light spectacular called “Sparkling Lights”. The Newport Mansions website describes this event: “The exterior of The Breakers and its landscape will be awash in thousands of festive colored lights, including 28 spruce trees glittering and glowing; The Breakers façade bathed in color; and illumination of the historic paths, shrubbery and trees in various colors. The Children’s Cottage will be outlined in lights and visitors will be able to peek through the windows at Santa’s Workshop inside. Holiday music will fill the air.” Both The Breakers and The Elms have been lavishly decorated and will be open for indoor tours this holiday season. “Sparkling Lights” at The Breakers is included in the $26 ticket price for touring the mansion. To find out more: “Celebrate the Holidays” on www. newportmansions.org. A Time to Give: Christmas is the time for giving and many people desperately need some help this year. So many people are suffering severe financial hardship after losing their jobs due to businesses closing during the pandemic. One way to help is to donate to a food bank or food pantry. All of these organizations report that they are seeing need like they have never seen it before. The Rehoboth Food Pantry, at 51 Winthrop St., says “We rely solely on our neighbors and local businesses who provide 100% of our funding to keep our shelves stocked, and funds available for fuel assistance. If you can donate food or funds, please contact us.” They are also seeking volunteers to help at the pantry. Visit www.rehobothfoodpantryma.org or phone (508) 493-1922.

Reindeer Treat Bags:
These Reindeer Treat Bags were so fun to make! They feature a red R. M. Palmer Caramel-filled Chocolate Ball as the nose, googly eyes, and brown pipe cleaners to make the antlers. I filled them with little Double Crisp Coal, coins, and assorted candies. These make adorable DIY gift bags, or treat bags! Add money, small toys, and candy to complete the gift! Or, you could add a few candies to them and use them as lunch bags for the kids! I am going to be featuring these in their own post soon!
Candy Gift Bags:
Chocolate and candy-filled gift bags are one of the oldest DIY gifting options. You can spend as little as $1 a piece if you divide up your supplies among a lot of mini bags. Fill these with your favorite R.M. Palmer candies or you could even do a combination of a homemade candy or treat!
Candy-Filled Ornaments:
I picked up some $1 mason jar ornaments and thought they would make an adorable cheap gift for the delivery men, or my kid’s teachers.I filled each with assorted R.M. Palmer Chocolates and will pass them out! These could cost as little as $2 each to make!

News And Notes From Blanding Library by Leslie Patterson
Library Temporarily Closed
Goff Hall, including the Blanding Library, is temporarily closed to visitors due to high positivity rates for COVID-19 in our area. In order to protect the health and safety of our community and reduce transmission of COVID-19, please pick up books and other library materials curbside. We also ask that you continue to return items directly into the book drop instead of to staff members. Meeting space in both the library and Goff Hall remains unavailable at this time. Our ongoing book sale in the hall will have to be put on hold for now as well. At this time, items requested from other libraries will still be delivered. You will receive notification of their arrival, as usual, and you can call the library to arrange for pick-up.

Just call ahead (508-252-4236) and the staff will have your items ready for pick up. The library is unable to hold its annual “make your own gingerbread house” holiday activity this year, but if you would like to make one at home, call the library and arrange to pick up a pre-made cardboard house (one per family), along with a recipe for frosting. You can decorate it with your own sweets at home. Also there will be a new “Take and Make” craft for children revolving around the story of The Gingerbread Man. This cute and simple craft kit may be picked up at the library, complete with supplies to create a paper envelope house for your storybook characters.

There’s no doubt science is cool. But when you add candy? Science only gets better! Let’s do some candy experiments! We’ll provide you with what you need to run three science experiments with candy. You’ll be testing the acid content of candy, running a chromatography experiment, and finishing up with a fun little experiment called floating letters. Your packet will include candy and other materials to keep, as well as a super cool science experiment library book which will need to be returned to the library. Registration is required. For elementary aged students grades 1-5.

AARP Mass. Fraud Watch Update For December 2020 Scam Alert: Facebook Marketplace
virus. One thing to remember is that while most of us are trying to keep our loved ones safe, scammers are trying to make things worse. During 2020 more than a quarter million people have fallen victim to COVIDrelated scams, many promising miracle cures, test kits or vaccines. Remember whenever the virus is spreading, tests are hard to come by, or a vaccine is close, scammers will be lurking. Look to your health care provider or state and local health department for information on the virus, testing or vaccine availability and never give out your health care account numbers or personal financial information to people you don’t already know and trust. Be a fraud fighter! If you can spot a scam, you can stop a scam. Report scams to local law enforcement. For help from AARP, call 1-877-908-3360 or visit the AARP Fraud Watch Network at www. aarp.org/fraudwatchnetwork.
Scam Alert:Peer-Peer PaymentApps
General Contractor
The holidays are getting close and many of us are looking for those last-minute deals. One place people are turning to is Facebook Marketplace, but beware because scammers are lurking. The spike in online shopping has unfortunately led many victims right to the criminals who offer deals too good to pass up. This fall, the AARP Fraud Watch Network Helpline has received a high volume of calls from people losing money to scams on Facebook Marketplace. Here are some tips to avoid online sales scams. Before making that purchase, research what similar items are selling for elsewhere. The greater the deal, the greater the likelihood that it could be a scam. Buy local versus having something shipped, and arrange to meet in a public space. Pay cash – if asked to pay by a payment app, wire transfer or gift card, refuse. Finally, if you need to get an item shipped, use a credit card, which has fraud protections. In the time of COVID, peer-to-peer payment apps have become more popular than ever. According to a recent AARP survey on online holiday shopping, more than half of US adults plan to use a peer-to-peer payment app for gift purchases. It’s important to know that some apps are safer than others. PayPal, for example, is set up for users to make purchases with businesses where it’s offered. But other popular payment apps like Venmo, Zelle and Cash App, are intended for use among friends and family – to split a dinner bill or pay the babysitter. Fraud losses are generally not recoverable when you use these apps to pay for a product that never comes. To protect your assets, remember that using cash or a credit card, which comes with fraud protections, are still your best bets.

Fall Reflections on Staying Safe
By Dorothea Vafiadis, MS | 7.30.2020 (Edited by Bradley Marshall for this COA edition) The situation around the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is changing rapidly. Here is the latest advice from public health experts about the best way to protect yourself and to reduce the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19. Some of these tips will be familiar to you and some are new. It’s still true that the best way to stay safe is to limit your interactions with other people as much as possible and take precautions to prevent getting COVID-19 when you do interact with others. Here are 4 things to remember. 1. Remember the rest of your health. • Many older adults have one or more chronic conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease or hypertension. For managing these conditions, consider seeing your doctor using a telehealth. Check with your provider. • Many health care providers are now encouraging some patients to schedule the routine visits they may have been putting off. Speak to your doctor about whether vaccinations and other preventive services are up to date to help prevent disease. • Do not delay emergency care, especially if you are experiencing shortness of breath, chest pain, or discomfort in your arms, back, or neck. These could be symptoms of a heart attack or stroke. Acting fast can save your life. 2. Practice physical distancing and stay at least 6 feet apart. • The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) still suggests you wear a cloth face covering or mask when you are around people who don’t live in your household. Town of Rehoboth and the State of Massachusetts is requiring this necessary precaution.
December 2020 • It’s still best to limit your physical interactions with other people as much as possible. If you decide to go out or visit with family or friends, the safest approach is staying outdoors for optimal ventilation and keeping 6 feet apart. The closer you are to other people who may be infected, the greater your risk of getting sick. • Indoor spaces are more risky than outdoor spaces where it is harder to keep people apart and there’s less ventilation. 3. Use common-sense actions to stay safe. • Stock up on cleaning supplies. You should clean frequentlytouched surfaces in your home such as light switches or doorknobs at least once per day. • Manage stress, get enough sleep, and wash your hands often (and for at least 20 seconds) with soap and water. If soap and water is not available, use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol, be careful of fraudulent ones containing Methyl. • Stock up on healthful foods, have 30 days of medication on hand, and try to stay physically and socially active. . Regular physical activity benefits your mind and body! Go for a walk or try chair exercises with such programs as NIH’s Go4Life. 4. Ask for help if you need it. • If you are at high-risk of complications from COVID-19 or are unable to get items you need, consider contacting family or friends to lend a hand. Call the COA Director, Linda Sherman or the Outreach worker Bradley Marshall at 508-252-3372. • If you’re having trouble paying your bills, please contact Bradley Marshall, Outreach Coordinator for Rehoboth at the Council of Aging, to see if you qualify for the hundreds of programs that help older adults pay for food, housing, utilities, medication, and more. Stay connected to family, friends and neighbors with phone calls, letters, e-mail, and through social media.

90th Birthday Parade
On November 7th the Rehoboth Senior Citizens Club had a car parade for those members who turned 90 years old this year. Usually we have a dinner and entertainment for them but the virus changed that. My vice-president, Steve Silva and his wife Diane with help from members Joanne Bennett, Patti Craig and Bob Craig organized the wonderful parade. And it was amazing. The parade proceeded to 4 members’ homes at which Rep. Steven Howitt, Sen. Paul Feeney, and Selectman David Perry presented the birthday proclamations to each of the recipients. Kalifornia Karl sang Happy Birthday while Diane Silva presented the balloons and gift to each of the birthday recipients. It was humbling to see tears in their eyes. They were so happy to have not been forgotten. The community came together that day for an act of kindness. The Rehoboth Fire Department participated, the Rehoboth Police Department escorted the group, Ralph Arguin took pictures, and many citizens joined the parade.

There were 7 members that turned 90; Shirley Goff, Manny Costa, Dolores Bubier, Beverly Costa, Penny Decker, Mildred Hamlin, and Elizabeth Patterson. Unfortunately 3 live out of state and we were unable to travel to their houses, but we had a surprise when Ray and Penny Decker showed up and joined the parade. That made it even more special. Thank you to all who made this such a wonderful event! Lorraine Botts, President

The newly formed Southeastern MA Paws of Comfort Lions Club-SEMPOCLC first of its kind in the world, celebrated their charter Sunday, October 25th at the Bethany Village Fellowship church hall, Newport Ave. South Attleboro. Keynote Speakers included Joyce Middleton, Immediate Past International Director, and via Zoom, former assistant principal of Sandy Hook elementary school, Newtown CT. Dr. Anthony Salvatore. Students and faculty of Sandy Hook Elementary School experienced first hand the gentle healing power of our furry friends when South Attleboro Village Lions: Monique Tedino, Debby Horner and Cheryl Olson attended the 6 month memorial service of the senseless deadly shooting of 20 students and 6 adults that took place December 14, 2012. The Children, as well as adults, were able to shed tears, express their grief, or to just be still while they either hugged or played with these gentle “Paws of Comfort” dogs. As stated by Dr Salvatore, “When words are ineffective, Comfort Dogs are Magical”. The day of that visit confirmed the need to form this first of its kind, Lions Club to provide comfort, healing and hope. Please remember The Southeastern Paws of Comfort Lions Club will pick up redeemable cans and bottles, can tabs, hearing aids and eyeglasses. For pick-up, please call either Joyce @ 508761-4855 or Monique @ 508-431-0282. Thank You

Happy Holidays to all!! We are unfortunately not having our in-person meetings at this time, but are still doing our best to help those in need during these trying times. As you drive by the Gazebo on Redway Plain, notice the Tree and decorations the Anawan Lions have donated to all of you for this difficult 2020 year, as we have done in the past. We missed having our usual Tree Lighting ceremony followed by the refreshments and “roll-up prizes” at Goff Hall. Hopefully 2021 will be a healthier year for all. The Anawan Lions wish you and yours a healthy and happy Holiday Season and a better 2021. Be safe. Sincerely, the Rehoboth Anawan Lions.

Quality Work At Reasonable Prices
The holiday season is fast approaching and usually a busy time for family gatherings and good times. However, this year in 2020, the joyful times we look forward to every year will not be the same. The Seekonk Lions Club has always been there, so people in need can appreciate a great dinner and enjoy good times with family. The Seekonk Lions will not quit in providing help through this extraordinarily time. On November 15, the Seekonk Lions donated $1000 to the Doorways Food Pantry at the old North School. “Every year, our Thanksgiving clam boil proceeds go to the Doorways food pantry”, said President Gary Sagar. “While we have not had a clam boil in this Lionistic Year, we will continue to support our local charities and Doorways.” Photo above: President Gary presented the $1000 check to Doorway executives David Francis, Diane Fox, Gerry McCabe and Doug Haywood. “The Seekonk Lions have donated close to $10,000 this year and will continue to be a fabric of this community,” says Sagar. “We wish everyone a safe holiday season.”

SCHOOL NEWS Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District Awarded Grant for Rapid Testing from the Commonwealth
The Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District (DRRSD) is one of 133 school districts across the Commonwealth that has been selected to receive COVID-19 rapid PCR testing kits at no cost. The Abbott BinaxNOW rapid testing system is a reliable tool for testing symptomatic children and adults. Next steps include the completion of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment and comprehensive training. DRRSD will be utilizing the testing kits to detect and isolate Coronavirus cases within the school community. Parent/Guardian consent is required for students to receive a test. Results are delivered within 15 minutes and reported to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and Department of Early and Secondary Education. DRRSD considers the Abbott BINAX NOW grant an exciting opportunity and a critical step in keeping schools healthy spaces for students and staff with today’s COVID-19 metrics and trends. This opportunity is especially important for maintaining current learning models, enhanced contact tracing, and providing on site mitigation. Test kits are expected to arrive by early December.
ing a snow day will have a flexible due date of 3-5 days after the weather event. We recognize that DRRSD families and staff may have issues with power outages during weather events. If this is the case, please do not worry. We all need to have patience and understanding in the event of a power outage. If possible, we ask that families please try to communicate with their child’s teacher(s) and/or school if they find themselves without power or internet access. As we enter the winter months, we do ask parents to please monitor the weather for any predicted storms and always have a backup child care plan should In-person School not be possible. We will make every effort to make a decision on whether to hold in-person learning or a remote learning day as soon as possible. However, making this decision the night before is not always feasible due to changing weather patterns and/or other extenuating circumstances. In these cases, a final decision may not be made until the following morning. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding in regards to these matters. As always, we appreciate your support and understanding. Sincerely, Dr. Anthony Azar
School Closures Will Be Remote Days
November 18, 2020 Dear DRRSD Families & Staff, I hope this message finds you and your families well. As you are aware, the 20202021 school year is one like no other. One area that we have had to rethink is school closures due to a multitude of reasons, the obvious one being inclement weather such as a snow storm or resulting power outages due to high winds. Power outages could affect our HVAC systems. Due to the pandemic, it is vital these systems are operational in order to ensure a safe learning environment. For this year only, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has allowed us to hold school remotely if we need to close school for weather or other related events and still have the day count towards the required 170 school days. As a result, during the 2020-2021 school year any day that I declare a school closure day will be a day of remote learning for all students and school buildings will be closed. Teachers will engage with students online utilizing a combination of both synchronous and asynchronous learning. Preschool and students in high needs programs who typically come into school for in-person learning will instead engage in remote learning with their teacher(s). Any work assigned dur-

Seekonk Public Schools Launches COVID-19 Daily Dashboard
Seekonk — Superintendent Rich Drolet is pleased to announce the launch of Seekonk Public Schools’ new COVID-19 daily dashboard that will keep community members up-to-date with the district’s latest statistics regarding COVID-19 positive cases.
“With the use of this daily dashboard, we will be able to keep our community members up-to-date with our latest COVID-19 cases and close contact numbers,” Superintendent Drolet said. “We hope that this new dashboard will help to assuage any concerns our students and their families may have in regard to our COVID-19 numbers.” The COVID-19 dashboard, which will be updated each time a new positive case is reported, can be viewed here. Community members can also access the daily dashboard on the homepage of the district’s website. The dashboard will include data that indicates whether or not there are any positive COVID-19 cases within the district, which school the positive cases occurred at and how many close contacts were identified through the district’s contact tracing process. Data from previous weeks will be accessible on the dashboard webpage for community members to review as well. The dashboard does not include any data regarding individuals who have to self-quarantine as a result of possible exposure from an individual outside of the school community.

Local Landscapers Wanted: Natural Walking Path
At Palmer River Elementary/Beckwith Middle School, we are looking to create a natural walking path for our students and staff around the campus. This will be a grant funded project with limited resources. We welcome your support in the form of guidance, bids, proposals or estimates to help us accurately write the grant. We look to make the trail approximately 1 mile long by 4 ft. wide. Our goal would be to keep it naturally surfaced with the benefit of any necessary grading and drainage support. Winner- Winner!!!... What a thrill for first grader Skyler H. to have been the owner of a winning “Feinstein Golden Ticket”! As a result of this lucky number, our school was the recipient of a generous Feinstein grant in the amount of $5000. Skyler was given the privilege of donating $500 to the charity of her choosing. She readily donated it to her classroom where they will be using some of the money to buy a play store to help them learn all about marketing and counting coins. The children will work with their teacher to determine how best to spend the rest. Skyler was also recognized with a certificate, ‘space coin’, collectable space cards and a new Feinstein Jr. Scholar T-shirt. Each Monday, Mr. Feinstein calls four winning numbers; we are hopeful that there will be another winning number in our future!
Watercolor “Ala Bobby”
Remote student Robert B. shares his most recent artwork with our school community. Great work Bobby! Working remotely from home, students can access a great menu of ideas and activities to keep them engaged and learning even when we can’t be with them. While we miss each child’s unique ‘live’ contribution to our school, we have several places where students can stay in touch and showcase their work.

Tri-County RVTHS Takes Extraordinary Steps for Fresh Air

school’s central HVAC Systems, classroom and building VAV boxes, and unit heaters throughout the facility. New control valves and thermostats have been installed and tied into the new building control/management system to ensure the facility’s equipment’s proper operation. This upgrade/replacement will improve building comfort by balancing the system and will address the building’s indoor air quality (IAQ) and will help maximize the system’s cubic feet per minute (CFM) output. The new energy management system allows the equipment to precisely control the flow of fresh air being brought into the building. The new units can bring in 100% outside air, which will enable us to dilute the indoor air with fresh air and dramatically increase overall IAQ. The new control system allows fresh air to be brought in hours before the building will be occupied for the day. Classrooms will see a minimum of six air exchanges per hour. The air will now be scrubbed by two filtration racks equipped with high-efficiency air filters (rated at MERV 13 and higher) with a total filter thickness of 14” instead of the single rack 4” filter equipped in the old system. Tri-County’s Facilities Department will be able to control the exhaust fans in the building and enable them to remove more air from the building and maintain a constant air exchange throughout the facility. The next step in the process is to install UV Commercial lights in the HVAC ducts. UV lights kill toxins in the handler, which include: mold, bacteria, and other germs. “We are excited to put this technology in place to help mitigate the threat of airborne germs.” says Harry Takesian, Director of Facilities Management For more information Contact: Harry Takesian, Director of Facilities Management (508) 528-5400 x296 takesian@tri-county.us

• 1 cup light brown sugar • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels • 1 cup white chocolate morsels • 1/2 cup mini M&Ms • 1 tbsp. Christmas sprinkles
Instructions
1. Line a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 jelly roll pan with heavy duty aluminum foil. Spray it generously with nonstick baking spray. 2. Add saltine crackers to foil. I used almost 60 crackers which is a little more than a sleeve. 3. In a small sauce pan, add light brown sugar and butter. Constantly stir mixture over medium-low heat (4 on the knob). Once butter is melted, set a timer and allow mixture to gently boil for 3 minutes. You will want to constantly stir it even when it is gently bubbling. 4. Once mixture turns into thick toffee, spread it over the crackers. Place pan in a 325° Fahrenheit oven and bake for 9 minutes. 5. After toffee is done baking, remove from the oven and place it on top of the stove. Sprinkle on 2 cups of chocolate chips and spread using a rubber spatula. 6. Once chocolate is evenly spread, add 1 cup of white chocolate morsels evenly as well as the M&Ms, and holiday sprinkles. 7. Add entire baking sheet to the freezer and freeze until hardened, about 15 minutes. If you have no room in the freezer, chill in the fridge for about 45 minutes. 8. Once everything is hardened, crack the bars using a knife or your hands.

Equipment • baking sheet • Ice Cream Scoop
• large knife • Cutting board
Ingredients • 2 Acorn Squash • 8 o u n c e s T h e B a c o n e r Smoked Bacon Lardons or cubed bacon • 1 Granny Smith apple peeled, cored, cubed • 2 stalks celery chopped
• 1 m e d i u m y e l l o w o n ion chopped • 1 cup spinach • 1 lb. Sweet Italian Sausage ground • 3/4 cup 4C Bread Crumbs • 2 tbsps. light brown sugar • 2 tbsps. olive oil
Instructions
• Wash and dry your squash. Using a sharp, large knife, and a sturdy cutting board that doesn’t move carefully slice your squash in half. You can cut it widthwise or lengthwise. Scoop out any seeds and excess flesh with an ice cream scoop. Discard seeds into the compost bin. Coat flesh sides of squash with olive oil. Place squash flesh side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 30-35 minutes at 400° Fahrenheit. Squash will be fork tender with a caramelized flesh and soft outer skin. • Heat a large skillet and add bacon pieces to it. Cook until bacon is crisp and a deep reddish color. Remove pan from heat and remove bacon pieces using a slotted spoon. I put mine in a paper towel lined dish. • Add ground sausage, chopped celery, apple, and onion to the pan and cook until sausage is browned and veggies are tender. • Place the spinach in the pan and cook for about 45 seconds or until spinach is wilted. Add back the cooked bacon pieces, and bread crumbs. Stir to combine the filling. • Scoop about 3/4 of stuffing to each baked acorn squash. Return squash to the oven and bake for an additional ten minutes. You can add some 4C Parmesan Cheese if you please. Simply sprinkle each with about a tablespoon of cheese before baking. • Place stuffed squash halves back in the oven on the same parchment-lined pan and bake for 10 minutes at 350°.
