I Salute The Confederate Flag; With Affection, Reverence, And Undying Devotion To The Cause For Which It Stands. The Sons of Confederate Veterans is the direct heir of the United Confederate Veterans; and the oldest hereditary for male descendants of Confederate soldiers. Confederate Memorial Day Ceremonies

Confederate Memorial Day Ceremonies will be held at Evergreen Cemetery (across Bryant Drive from Bryant-Denny Stadium) on April 26, 2013 at 6:30 pm. Evergreen Cemetery can be entered on the 12th Street side, across the cemetery from Bryant Denny Stadium. The ceremony will be held at the gravesite of Virginia Hortense Rodes, the widow of General Robert E. Rodes. A reminder of the ceremony with a larger image of the right will be sent out closer to the event.

James (Jim) B. Simms The Sons of Confederate Veterans is the direct heir of the United Confederate Veterans, and is the oldest hereditary organization for male descendants of Confederate soldiers. Organized at Richmond, Virginia in 1896; the SCV continues to serve as a historical, patriotic, and nonpolitical organization dedicated to ensuring that a true history of the 1861-1865 period is preserved. Membership is open to all male descendants of any veteran who served honorably in the Confederate military.
