Sean Cochrane has been successfully developing for over 20 years, with a strong property portfolio throughout the UK and Europe.

Sean Cochrane having studied both the rental and sales market in Hastings & St Leonard’s over the past four years setting up a strong team there to oversee general running and acquisitions of available off market deals. We have bought, developed sold/let multiple buildings over the last four years and now with an in depth knowledge of the local market we have begun to invest in more modestly priced property which has all shown high levels of equity return whilst also offering a yield of between 6.5-10%.

Why has a successful developer and Interior design consultancy chosen to set up a second team outside their London design practice and begin investing heavily in Hastings over the past four years?

Lots of the property in Hastings and St Leonard’s has not been maximized in the same way it has been in London, there is lots of scope to increase a properties value whether that be reconfiguring the interior architecture or buying a block of flats and adding an extra floor to the building. To put it bluntly there has been very little quality development in the town and the demand is growing. It is reminiscent of Streatham and Brixton 20 years ago. The housing stock is exceptional with huge opportunities to either buy to let or flip and sell on. We are developing over 100 units currently and the current Covid situation has done nothing but amplify the demand for Hastings property, giving rise to sales price increases of 17% over the Covid period alone.

We have now established excellent relationships with landlords, traders, local agents and have drafted in a core group of architects and builders comfortably capable to managing all upcoming projects. Cochrane Design is perfectly positioned to generate high returns on investment.
