Finding the balance between working towards my goals and living in the moment was difficult at first, but it came with experience. I found it by having my own space on campus and learning from my friends who lived near me.

Independent but not alone. WHEN YOU LIVE
ON CAMPUS
YOU HAVE TIME FOR WHAT REALLY MATTERS
Rutgers is a big place. Living here makes it easy to access people and resources that help you take advantage of all college has to offer. Don’t let a commute get in between you and success. Never miss a study session, professor’s office hours, or a chance to make new friends. Stay healthy and safe with rec centers, health centers, counseling centers, and Rutgers University Police Department.
Residents are required to purchase a meal plan, but what could be more convenient? Grab a friend and a bite at one of Rutgers four dining halls or the official food truck. Meal swipes are also accepted by some student center food vendors. Rutgers Dining offers plenty of options for those on restricted diets, including vegan and Kosher meals.
Rethink how you refuel.
Rutgers gives you the opportunity to experience different environments and atmospheres. We have both rural and urban campuses and you can experience it all.

BUSCH CAMPUS
Busch is home to inspirational leaders working hard to bring the best possible Rutgers experience. The close proximity of the recreation center, the libraries, the computer labs, and the science classrooms makes my life comfortable and convenient and complete.

COLLEGE AVENUE CAMPUS
COOK/DOUGLASS CAMPUS
College Ave. is the embodiment of fast paced. I adore it. Its characteristic buildings and the campus itself, the way the sun filters through the trees as you stroll around it, don’t take away from the excitement of living right next to New Brunswick itself.
I love Cook/Douglass because it is a gorgeous campus! I’m super outdoorsy, and I am an Ecology major, so it is perfect for me. It’s a little bit off on its own for a bit of peace. It’s my home for a year, and I can’t wait to make it my own.

LIVINGSTON CAMPUS
I love everything about Livingston campus. I feel a lot more comfortable knowing I am surrounded by students just like me. I think that alone helps me to feel less anxious and more excited about the transition. I love Livingston, and I can’t imagine living anywhere else.

WHEN YOU LIVE
ON CAMPUS SUCCESS IS ON YOUR DOORSTEP
Our residents aren’t the only ones who say that living and learning in the same place is important. Most higher education scholars agree that living on campus is related to higher GPAs, smoother adjustment to college life, higher retention, and increased likelihood to graduate.
Living on campus gives me so many opportunities. Each campus has a rec center, a dining hall, and a student center where I can meet so many new people. Chris ‘16
If I hadn’t made that one decision to live on campus, I wouldn’t have met all the amazing people that changed my life and have become my best friends.
