THE PARISH COUNCIL OATH OF OFFICE is administered for the newly elected Parish Council that will lead the Parish during 2011. We welcome new members Lewis Bazakos and Kostas Zahariadis. Jamie Catacosinos retires from the Council after more than ten years. Alex Ipiotis retires from the Council after seven years. The Council and the parish thank them for their many years of devoted service. ALL REGISTRATION FORMS FOR THE ST. JOHN CHRYSOSTOM ORATORICAL FESTIVAL are due on Sunday, January 16th. JOY NEWS: We need to know if there are Joy girls or boys interested in playing basketball this season. We also would need a coach(s) to run the practices and go to the games. Project Generation – February 5 th – 11:00 AM We shall be hosting the first annual Project Generation Youth Symposium on February 5th. Teens from across the Archdiocesan District will be presenting projects on the environment, engaging in debate on environmental topics and participating in a moderated discussion on Orthodoxy and the Environment. Project Generation is intended to respond to the call of His All Holiness by initiating an effort for our youth to: • Engage Orthodox youth in a project showcasing the link between our religion and the environment • Increase environmental awareness • Launch grassroots level promotion of the message of Patriarch Bartholomew Please support all of the youth who will be participating across the Archdiocesan District by joining us.
