The program will end with traditional Greek dances from children of the Greek School in levels A-D (except Pre-K and Beginners). All are invited. THANKSGIVING ADOPT A FAMILY: St. Catherine’s Philoptochos is collecting Dinner Baskets for the needy in our community. The Baskets (or bags) need to contain: 1 frozen turkey (8-10 lbs), one 5 lb bag of potatoes, 2 large cans of green beans/corn, 1 cranberry sauce, 1 large can of gravy, 1 bag of stuffing, 1 box of corn muffin mix, 1 jug of apple juice, 1 bag of apples or oranges, 1 Entenmanns cake. *Please no glass containers.* Please make sure baskets or bags are sturdy and do not tear. No time? We will gladly accept donations and do the shopping for you or you can offer to help deliver the food on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Hint: Get a couple of friends together and share the cost of a dinner! CROP HUNGER WALK COORDINATOR Arlene Kallaur of the Orthodox Church of America's Holy Trinity Church in E. Meadow thanks those in our parish who contributed to the 2nd Annual Nassau County CROP Hunger Walk at Eisenhower Park on October 15 for their role in reaching the $7,000 goal established for the walk. "Your team contributed $944, a very good sum for first-time participation. Please congratulate and thank them," she wrote in an e-mail, expressing her hope that we will want to walk again next year and bring others with us. We thank Sophia Niarchos, Resurrection Team Captain, our St. Catherine's Philoptochos, which contributed a substantial portion of the total team contribution; and Jeannette Christodoulou, Dr. Michael and Fotini Pettei, and Mrs. Kathleen Pettei for walking; and North Shore Farms-Glen Cove, Pathmark-Greenvale, Sergio's Pizzeria and Karaoke Kare for their contributions of food, drink and music.
