I'd Love To Be A Telescope's Delight I'd love to be a telescope's delight, See time and space squeeze in the cosmic ray; Watch things compress as light gets in their way And hurtle through the racetracks of the night. I'd like to watch the streaming colors stain The allatonce as past and future merge, And see the curvature of space, old times reverse As cosmic physics spins time down the drain. But I have just a little space of life And lenses will find rest with endlessness All the wonder and the strife will thin and drain As sight itself gives up its preciousness. When engines overcome the speed of light, It shall, for me, be everlasting night. Carl Estrin
