The Queer of Flander's Fields

Page 1

The Queer of Flanders Fields Under a drear and reckless sky The dead in AIDs on courses lie. There's was a life of spectral youth And they lived it all with a will. Over the roofs of artistic lofts, Sits many a grieving lover lost In fond recollection of sweet embrace And they agonize with a will. Following showers and city rain Many attempt to party again, But cannot keep out the dampening mist, Though they celebrate with a will. Here, where the body's exquisite shape Led to many a lonesome date, Come necklaced ghosts of the lethal queens Who were fabulous with a will. I was the one who would not walk in That entrance and wilderness of sin. I am the one who is yet alive And I slake my thirsts with a will. Carl Estrin
