Where Do Sparrows Go Where do sparrows go to die?

They are so joyful and so resolute About their lives. In six months They are gone. Have they been taken To some ritual in the sky?

I look around the ground from place to place And, in my haste, see not a trace of feather; Yet I must also go without a face Into states that no man could conceive, Chained and broken to a mortuary wagon.

My hope is that, when throwing off all things, I shall be greeted by a twittering of wings.
