REISEN IST DIE SEHNSUCHT NACH DEM LEBEN TRAVELLING IS THE YEARNING FOR LIFE

Liebe Leserinnen, liebe Leser,

Italien, Frankreich, die Adria, der Schwarzwald oder nur mal der Tegernsee – das sind Destinationen, die uns durch die aktuelle Ausgabe der RETROWELT begleiten. Es sind allesamt auch Orte, die unsere Sehnsucht nach Reisen, Ausfahrten sowie Treffen mit Freunden und Gleichgesinnten befeuern. Mobilität ist für uns zum Ausdruck von Freiheit, Unabhängigkeit, Wohlstand, Individualität und Selbstbestimmung geworden. Wie schnell sich das alles ändern kann. Nun stehen alle Räder still – sprichwörtlich.

Und dennoch – nein, jetzt erst recht – gilt es, über das zu berichten, worüber wir immer in unseren Ausgaben berichten: die Freude an Reisen, an schönen Dingen, am Autoschrauben, Eis essen oder Campari trinken – alles Dinge, die unser Leben bereichern. Wobei diese Kategorien für uns keine so große Rolle spielen. Wir wollen eher ein Zeichen dafür setzen, das Beste aus der Situation zu machen und für die Zeit nach der Krise gerüstet zu sein – etwa indem wir gerade jetzt einen Concours d’Élégance am Tegernsee planen oder im Bericht vom Ausflug mit dem neuen Ferrari Roma mit Tipps für Rom bereichern. Die Redaktion ist mit offenen Augen unterwegs und kommt auch im Homeoffice auf spannende Ideen. Wir improvisieren, probieren Neues aus, machen weiter, immer weiter. Vielleicht ist genau deshalb die vorliegende Ausgabe von RETROWELT einmal mehr so unterhaltend.

Dear Readers

Italy, France, the Adriatic, the Black Forest or simply Lake Tegernsee. Topics which are accompanying us through the latest issue of RETROWELT. All these places also fuel our yearning for travel, excursions and meetings with friends and like-minded people. For us, mobility has therefore become an expression of freedom, independence, prosperity, individuality and self-determination. But how quickly all this can change. All wheels are now standing still – literally.

And yet, no, now more than ever, it is necessary to talk about the aspects which we always feature in our issues: the enjoyment of travel, beautiful things, tinkering with cars, eating ice cream or drinking Campari – everything which enriches our lives. Although these categories are not all that important to us. We would much rather set an example in order to be equipped for the period after the crisis and make the best out of the situation – for instance, just now planning a Concours d’Élégance at Lake Tegernsee or enhancing the excursion in the new Ferrari Roma with tips for Rome. The editorial department is out and about with open eyes and is coming up with new and exciting ideas even during home office working. We are improvising, trying something new and continuing ever onwards. Perhaps this is precisely the reason why this issue of RETROWELT is once again so entertaining.
