Golf Course Update Throughout the summer we have continued to renovate the greenside bunkers on the three courses. At this point we have completed the bunkers on the Palmer, Nicklaus, and are currently half way to completing the Watson course. Following the completion of the bunkers we have been working on the most efficient way to rake the bunkers for playability and labor purposes. We have recently adopted the Aussie bunker raking method. This process involves smoothing out the vertical slopes and grooming the bottom of the bunkers. The idea is to allow the golf shot to hit the smooth surface of the bunker and funnel down toward the base. This greatly improves the playing conditions by decreasing the possibility of the golf ball plugging into the bunker face. We have also continued to improve landscaping areas throughout the courses by cleaning out overgrown plant material and simplifying the layout. Some major improvements have been made on #2, #6 and #14 Nicklaus. This renovation included several loads of sod that was installed over large landscaping beds decreasing the amount of overall plant material. This will allow our team to decrease the amount of man hours required to maintain the landscaping and keep a better overall maintained look.
