Tales Of

Gr owing Up A collection of my childhood memories

Memories of My Family

When I was a little girl, my family lived in a cosy little house with a garden. There was a white picket fence which formed a boundary for my house. The garden was a meeting place for me and my friends.

Remembering my Dad Mum and Sis

My dad is a Doctor who’s favourite thing to do in the whole world was to read newspapers. He had this special spot in the living room and whenever I needed to find him, I would always look for him there. He does not like to be disturbed when he’s reading the news!

My sister was my constant companion and we used to play with puzzles all the time. We used to fight a lot too. But too bad for her because I had my parents unrelenting support!

My mum is a home maker and I remember her taking care of everything that I needed. She cooks amazing food and folds all my clothes and helps me with my homework. She used to drive me to school everyday and even lets me eat ice cream before dinner.

Memories of Living on A Farm

Living on a farm was so much fun! My dad and I would go out every evening and just relax under the beautiful sky. Sometimes we even had a picnic if the weather was nice. There were a lot of plants and trees and the place was so relaxing.

One of my duties as a kid was to water all the plants on the farm. I remember taking this job very seriously. I named all of my favourite flowers and pretended they were my students. When the plants were green and healthy it made me very happy. I really do miss having a garden now.

My sister and I used to play a lot of games on the farm. Our favourite game was Hide & Seek. My sister would always be the seeker and I used to have so much fun coming up with new places to hide. I hated being the seeker and would always give up and go back home without telling my sister.

Memories of Going to School

I absolutely hated going to school. I cried every single day when my mum used to drop me off in kindergarden. My teacher had to forcefully take me into class and only after seeing my friends I would stop crying.

I was very intimidated by my teacher and would always try my best to be serious during lessons. My favourite lesson was art and I loved colouring books. My least favourite lesson was maths as I found all the numbers very confusing. My mum made sure I always did my homework and didn’t get into any trouble at school. My favourite time during school was when it was time to go home.

Memories of the Playgr ound

The playground is the place where I usually meet all of my friends. The swing is my favourite thing in the playground. My friends and I used take turns to have a go at it. I also enjoyed sliding down the playground slide but hated climbing the ladder to get to the top. The merry go round was also fun but it sometimes made me feel sick.

Memories of getting a Dog

I got my dog Scooby as a birthday present. It was the best birthday gift ever. He is my best friend and I love spending time with him. I used to take him out for walks every single day and taught him how to play fetch. He always follows me around in the house and likes it when I play with him.

Home is the safe place that we can go to as we are and not be questioned. As children we feel the most secure because we have a family that takes care of us and nurture us. All the things that we learn as children helps us build better homes when we are older and in turn take care of our children. It is the most important place on the earth.

This book is a collection of my chidhood memories. Home is the first and most important place in the whole world. It is a place which contains all of my childhood experiences. These experiences and memories played a strong role in making me who I am today.
