So naturally, they jumped at the chance to play grown-up siblings in their new movie, Sisters. ‘It just wouldn’t make sense playing sisters with anyone else,’ says Tina, 45. Amy, 44, adds, ‘We’re kind of like sisters and our “parents” are show business. INTERVIEW ‘There’s an ease that we have with each other,’ Tina explains of their on- and oﬀ-screen chemistry

Do you remember the moment you both clicked as comedy partners? Amy: We were in an improv team in Chicago and we were the only two women, and I think that’s when it started to work. Tina: We learned pretty quickly that we liked the same things, we liked speaking the same way and had the same sick sense of humour! Amy: So much of comedy early on is about inding your tribe because no-one is very experienced and nobody feels funny, so you end up searching out people who like the same things as you. Tina and I had a pretty good irst dating period… and now here we are married. She’s my comedy wife!

Amy and I are so close and so alike Sisters is rated for a mature audience. Is it fun knowing you can get away with more? Amy: Yeah. he impulse was to curse more, but then you curse so much that you’re cursing more than any natural person would, so we had to dial it back at times. I think we have got a little carried away!

on and thought when you have a part for someone who’s supposed to be tightly wound in the beginning and then go crazy, you cast the person who is better at going crazy. I just knew that Amy would play that better. Being so close, do you actually feel like you’re sisters in real life? Amy: Yeah, I think we do. We feel like we’re chosen sisters. Neither of us has sisters, so as a woman, you get lucky if you get to choose your sister. It makes working a lot of fun. Tina: Yeah, it’s the best. We just had the best time. I had my two daughters with me and Amy had her two sons, who are about the same age as my girls, and they all got to hang out and play together. It was really sweet. Is it true you have an arrangement that your kids will marry each other one day? Tina: [Laughs] Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s the arrangement. hey don’t know it yet but we igured it would avoid a lot of hassle for them and us when they grow up! Did you have to prepare to play sisters? Amy: Not really. We spoke to a lot of sisters and the interesting thing is that almost 46 WWW.OKMAGAZINE.COM.AU

everyone said how diferent they are. Tina: Yeah, whereas Amy and I are so close and so alike. Is it hard to keep a straight face when you’re working together? Tina: We laugh ALL the time! We had so much fun shooting this that it felt like a scam to actually get paid to hang out and party. Amy and I have been friends for so long and for this, we also got to bring in other friends of ours to be in the movie so it really was like a real party. Now we’re hoping for a sequel! We see the bedroom Amy’s character had when she was a teenager. Did you get to choose any of the posters? Tina: [Director] Jason Moore asked us what we wanted, but Amy had more of an inluence on that. Amy: Yeah, I feel like I have to take credit for the Michael J. Fox poster. I was crazy about him when I was a teenager. We were actually blown away by how amazing it looked in the movie. It’s so nostalgic for us to get it in there and we kept inding ourselves going into that bedroom when we had time to rest. We would end up just getting into our beds!

Is it satisfying to have witnessed the evolution of so many female-led comedies? Amy: Yeah. It’s always really exciting when new voices and new talent become commercial because it means there is an audience for them. I still think that stories told from a female perspective are interesting because there just hasn’t been as many. We’re excited to tap into that. How many movies do you think you can make together? Amy: A lot, I hope. It’s cool to see the diferent versions of us as we grow and change in the future… until the robots come and kill us! We’re into another awards season. Do you enjoy all that glitz and glamour? Tina: Yes, it’s fantastic. It’s like it’s a free vacation where you see a lot of people that you don’t see all the time. It’s great! Being beautiful and funny has made you both sex symbols for many. How do you feel about that? Amy: Really? I’m not sure if that’s true. Tina: Even I couldn’t write that joke! Are you funny at home? Tina: Oh hilarious! Mostly not in a good way!

S Amy and Tina’s lifelong friendship began when they met at the ImprovOlympic comedy improv group in Chicago. ‘We took classes together and sat in the back,’ Amy recalls in her book, Yes Please. ‘[Tina] was sharp, shy and hilarious.’

2001 Tina joined SNL in 1998 and Amy followed three years later. ‘I would say to her for years, “Do you want to come be on SNL?”’ Tina recalls. ‘And then she was like, “Well, maybe now.”’

glimmer of hope shone from Yolanda Foster’s heartbreaki Instagram post on Decembe 12 – a photograph of the tim and date, captioned, ‘First day of the rest of my life.’ It’s been a huge year of change for everyone’s favourite Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star – from her shattering Lyme disease relapse, to her children leaving the nest (and their ill mother) to pursue international modelling careers. However, it’s her split from mega-rich music mogul David Foster that’s caused the biggestt waves. Yolanda, 51, and David, 66, announced their shock separation in a joint statement on December 1, telling fans, ‘Sadly we have decided to go our separate ways. We’ve shared nine beautiful and joyous years together.’

NO-ONE SAW IT COMING Yolanda’s RHOBH co-stars were shocked at the news of the couple’s sad split. But I just do my best. I try when I’m home to be as supportive as I can.’ Now single once again, Yolanda sees no husband number three on the horizon, and instead plans to focus solely on her three children. ‘My Gigi, my Bella and my Anwar. David, who Yolanda met through irst husband Mohamed in 2006, has rarely appeared on the show until now, although it was his friendship with Lisa Vanderpump that gave Yolanda an inroad to the reality TV hit. Once a barely-there character, viewers might see more of David in the coming months as the details of the couple’s separation come to light. EASY PIZZA 2 WAYS I GREDIENTS 4 x 150g readymade pizza bases

•1⁄3 cup pizza sauce •340g jar marinated artichoke

hearts, drained •100g green Sicilian olives •4 slices prosciutto, torn •4 bocconcini balls, torn •1⁄2 cup caramelised onion relish •400g sweet potato, peeled and thinly sliced •2 tbsp rosemary •150g goat’s cheese, crumbled •Garlic oil, to drizzle 1 Preheat oven to hot, 200°C. Place pizza bases on four oven or pizza trays. 2 Spread two bases with pizza sauce. Top with artichokes, olives, prosciutto and torn bocconcini. 3 Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown and cheese melts. 4 Spread onion relish over remaining pizza bases. Cover with sweet potato slices and sprinkle with rosemary. 5 Bake for 10-15 minutes or until sweet potato is tender. 6 Crumble over goat’s cheese. Drizzle with garlic oil.

He says, “How many trips to the tip does that mean? How many times are you going to make food ahead of time for the kids?” I ind it hard to stop.’ he 35-year-old is loving life as a mum to her two gorgeous children, Ollie, eight, and Evie, 10 months, but that’s enough for now, the busy star hastily points out. ‘My 2016 plans don’t include any more children,’ Carrie laughs. ‘I’ve got a boy to put [Evie’s] nappies in the bin, and I still ind it hard. So, I take my hat of to people who have more than two!’ But the ‘baby’ she does plan to focus on more in 2016 is her Beanies 4 Brain Cancer campaign. It’s been a pretty crazy year for you – how would you sum it up? I would sum it up as the most magical year of my life, without a doubt. You wrote Fight Song to help yourself during a tough time. Can you tell us about it? I worked tirelessly for years and nothing was happening. It was incredibly diﬃcult. It is painful to want something so badly and not be able to get it no matter how hard you work. It hurt. It hurt really badly. I didn’t know what to do, so I wrote this song. Now I’m excited to have this platform and to spread the love. Have you had any time oﬀ since Fight Song?
