Bye, Doug, and thanks The Eagles and Head Coach Doug Pederson parted ways Monday – not a shock, and not necessarily the wrong thing to do. But missing was the announcement that General Manager Howie Roseman followed him out the door. Roseman, in just the past two years, has passed on the likes of DK Metcalf and Justin Jefferson. Plus, the salary cap situation is a mess. Whoever the Eagles tap to take Pederson’s place will inherit not only Roseman’s mess, but Roseman himself. Good luck, Doug, and thanks for the Super Bowl. Trust us, you’ll be in a better place next season.

Philly social media influencer and YouTube sensation JL Jupiter helped jumpstart Juana Tamale when he posted a rave review on his blog. In an emotional post on her Instagram, Zavala thanked JL Jupiter for his promo. “Having this opportunity to meet JL and get more followers has been nothing short of amazing,” she said. A VOICE OF HOPE IN TURBULENT TIMES Challenges couldn’t deter Celena Morrison BY JESSE BUNCH

Celena Morrison took over as the executive director of the city’s Office of LGBT Affairs last March – the same time the COVID pandemic struck. But none of the challenges of 2020 could stop her from attaining her goals. Image | Abad AxeRosa

othing could have prepared Celena Morrison for her first month on the job. In late-March, rumors were spreading across Philadelphia of impending furloughs and business closures. Despite the panic, Morrison was just getting familiar with her new office — City Hall. Her boss? Mayor Jim Kenney. That only lasted a little over a week. The office part, that is. For the past eight months, Philadelphia’s newly-appointed executive director of LGBT Affairs has been calling the shots entirely from home, serving as the top link between Image | Courtesy Philly’s LGBTQ+ comof Celena Morrison munity and the Kenney administration. City Hall has remained shuttered throughout the pandemic, weathering a turbulent period of lockdowns, reopenings and more lockdowns. From home, Morrison’s new commute is definitely cozier. But don’t think for a second that the challenges of 2020 have slowed her down. “It’s pushed me beyond what I thought I was capable of,” Morrison said. “If you had told me that I would be capable of running a local government office from my dining room, I’d have laughed at you.” From that dining room, Morrison has emerged as a voice of hope in turbulent times. In June, she represented the LGBTQ+ community during an unprecedented Pride Month. Racial justice protests were exploding down Broad Street, while the sound of Juneteenth fireworks echoed in the distance. That same month, her office proudly raised the BIPOC-inclusive More Color More Pride flag outside of City Hall. It flew next to the Trans Pride flag — at half-mast in remembrance of the multiple transgender women murdered in Philadelphia last year alone. Learning to lead remotely was a challenge for Morrison. She’s the type of leader who knocks on doors instead of sending emails. If your phone number is in your signature, you can bet she’s calling instead of waiting around for a response. In that regard, joining the ranks of City Hall via Zoom meetings was a major hurdle. She’s not shy to acknowledge that getting things done in politics is always easier when you know the right people. “I don’t want to have to wait, I need someone on it. The community is in need,” explained Morrison.

FEATURED When asked if she always saw these innate type-A qualities leading to an executive director position, she laughed. “I’ve always been a little bossy, but I didn’t always think I could be the boss.” Still, it’s a no-brainer that Morrison was tapped for the position. Morrison brings with her a decade of grassroots experience — her previous role was director of programs at the William Way LGBTQ+ Community Center. Before that, she was a specialist at the Mazzoni Center, providing support to transgender community members. From July 2019 until this past March, the LGBT Affairs role in Kenney’s administration remained vacant, maintained by two dedicated coordinators in the absence of leadership — “I was blessed and really lucky to have them,” Morrison said. Morrison’s deep connection to the community brings much-needed perspective to the way LGBTQ+ issues are handled in city government. Morrison is a Black woman, as well as openly transgender. In the near-uniform cisgender environment of politics, this intersection of identities gives Morrison a unique understanding of the hardships faced by marginalized groups in Philadelphia. LGBTQ+ residents in Philadelphia are often more likely to experience homelessness, poverty, and mental illness, issues only exacerbated by the economic pitfalls of the COVID-19 pandemic. In April, one of her first initiatives in office was to create a “Coping during COVID’’ guide specifically for the LGBTQ+ community. The guide details housing opportunities, health-care resources, COVID testing sites, free meal locations and legal resources. “I’ve been there, I’ve experienced the same things they’re experiencing now,” says Morrison of her community. “I’m able to connect to them on a deeper level and I draw from the work that I’ve done at different organizations. I draw from the stories I’ve had. I carry all those things with me when I do my work. It’s because of this community that I’ve remained in for so long.” This past Christmas, Morrison’s office was to partner with the William Way Community center to co-host a holiday dinner drive for those experiencing hunger — safely, of course. Pre-packaged holiday meals were to be distributed by volunteers in what’s being SEE LGBT, PAGE 8

In 2018, through mutual friends, producer Matty Moonshine, Brookwe kept hearing about each other, so lyn-born producer Solomon Caesar, South Jersey producers ARMY Zenn, Cesar reached out to Ren to work on a Trev In The Cut, and visual artist Rob song, and we wound up making mulGlemser. Sound Gallery Studios sponsored beat battle in 2017, starting the ongoing collaboration shortly after and adding producer Solomon Caesar. The name 7Minutes2LA came from the symbolism of the number of minutes of hit records it would take for you to reach success, as well as 7 being an important number in numerology with LA being symbolic of success, especially in music. Talk a little about the collaboration between 7Minutes2LA and 4VR. How did that partnership start, and how did it grow into a tri-state collaboration with many different artists? What does the final product look like? Cesar Of 4VR: There’s a couple different variations of this story, but the constant is a producer that goes by Digital Crates, a creative mentor to 4VR, had introduced us at a show at Voltage Lounge sometime in 2019. We had a few sessions after that and became quick friends. The 7Minutes24Vr collaboration started in those early sessions at

PHILADELPHIAWEEKLY.COM @PHILLYWEEKLY the sound gallery studios. The collaboration was born at a session after a music video premiere party for RegoThereshego’s video for “Pray For You.” We spontaneously hit the studio with a plethora of tri-state artists, including Nic Hanson, Sad Marquise, Regothereshego, with Army Zenn and Solomon Caesar of 7Minutes. The project’s heavy collaborative spirit began there with us knocking out four songs in one night. From that point, with it already being a joint project between 4VR and 7minutes2LA, we used it as an opportunity to just add a lot of our friends and family from the local scene to elevate the music and showcase us all. The final product will be a versatile and cohesive body of work with local artists we love and respect, with various sounds, and styles, all based inside the world we are creating called 724VR. How would you describe the Philly music scene these days? What Philly area artists would you like to team up with next? Cesar Of 4VR: The scene right now is a little too cliquey for the amount of talent that’s in the city right now, which is why we have such an emphasis on collaboration with projects like 7Minutes24VR. We’re always excited and open to working with anyone but specifically focused on more collaborative projects with different groups of artists and genres as well frequent collaborators like Rubber, Rego etc. Ren Of 4VR: The Philly music scene is FULL of talent, we just need each other to help one another level up and be heard, which does happen here and there, but could be much bigger than it is. Artists I would like to connect with in Philly are Nev ver, Kear, and Suzanne Sheer. Matty Moonshine: Honestly, the question should be who wants to work with us. At the level we are performing at, we right now are picking and choosing whom to work with. The projects we create are very hands-on and it is a lot of work. So we can’t work with someone who doesn’t bring that to the table. In addition to some frequent collaborators (i.e 4VR, Ish Williams, Corey Lee, Onetakedave) all with whom we currently work heavily, as well a few others, I think we would like to work with more artists not from the city. Traveling and making music while doing it is a feeling that is hard to replicate especially after this year. ARMY ZENN: With us being a one-stop shop for our projects, from producing the records, to me doing visuals, artwork and various promotional content, it definitely has to make sense, but we definitely have a list for the future, but right now we are just focused on making this project as impactful as we possibly can. Talk a little about the pandemic and how it has impacted the local music scene. Have projects been canceled or postponed? What’s the plan to move forward when/if the pandemic ends? Cesar Of 4VR: The pandemic sucks. It definitely has prolonged stuff, we have adjusted but haven’t cancelled anything. This time has been bittersweet for many reasons, but we

MUSIC definitely have a lot we have been working on. Ren Of 4VR: The pandemic impacted the local scene in a way I have never seen before. Everyone we used to see here and there at shows completely fell off, or stopped promoting themselves, and the ones who stayed up and stayed working towards their goals despite the shutdown are now friends and collaborators making our connections THAT much stronger moving forward. Many projects have been pushed back, and we lost a couple big shows, but this time has been great to really strengthen our approach and prepare to come back swinging. Matty Moonshine (who contracted the COVID-19 virus): The pandemic unfortunately contributed greatly to music releases. We had original plans to drop projects/singles that were delayed, to not being able to work on these together. It’s also a lot harder to get things done now if you are not doing it yourself. We wanted to shoot music videos for some singles and it just never worked out due to COVID. Once quarantine is officially over, we will work a lot quicker since we will be able to fully work together again without so many restrictions. Tell Us about the two singles “Luv Etrnl” and “Not the One,” the first release from your collaboration? ARMY ZENN: The two singles are contrasting, but similar in vibe, which is why we decided on dropping them as the first look into what we’ve been working on. We recorded a bulk of the upcoming projects at The Sound Gallery Studios in the Kensington area, which is where 7Minutes2LA primarily works out of. We got these records mixed at 4VR’s primary studio, Repercussions, in the Fishtown section of the city. “Luv Etrnl,” the more pop/R&R record that features iPhone pop star Sad Marquise and newcomer Rob Coard, was an easy song to do. It literally came together in one session, their chemistry was crazy. The production of that was super house electronic-inspired, which was new for us but definitely well put together. “Not The One,” the more rap-centric, early 2000s vibe, features New Jersey rapper Ish Williams and was a record we sat on pre-pandemic that was also finished recently once restrictions were lifted. Ish really complemented 4VR with his witty verse, super fire. We dropped a live performance video I directed and shot with the help of a visual mentor of ours, Zoe Fatblood Fitzgerald, in conjunction with the single releases, which was also a peek into the visual aesthetic we have been developing as well. What are the best ways for people to keep up with what you’re doing? The best way to connect with us is our social media. We are @7minutes2la on everything, and @weare4vr on everything as well. Also, keep an eye on our YouTube pages (4VR | 7Minutes2LA) as we have been dropping a lot of behind the scenes content on there as well, a lot of pre-COVID footage and in studio work.

Masked Philly: DECOUPLR’s Bailey Walker and Adam Laub In Icepack’s continuing saga of asking mask-donning local celebrities what they’ve been up to, beyond the pale, during COVID19’s pandemic, I reached out this week to West Philly’s favorite icily electronic music making couple, singer Bailey Walker and multi-instrumentalist Adam Laub of DECOUPLR. When I looked in at them between December holidays, they had just dropped their first, anxious and aptly titled single, “Cold Sweat,” while putting the finishing touches on their debut, full-length trip hoppy album, “Digital Bonfire,” which is out in two weeks. Living and working together as they do, and in quarantine for so long, the twosome – separate and equal – must do their own things when not noodling through moody synth-phonica. “I’ve been exploring home projects that are sustainability minded,” noted Walker. “Reducing household waste has opened up opportunities to be creative, too, like soap and candle making. Sanitation workers always have a lot on their plates, holding myself accountable by

reducing and making eco-friendly choices is a big focus this year.” As for Laub, an IT manager in his real life, he’s spent much of his quarantine down time advancing his skills with servers. “I have been setting up a home server stack in my bedroom. It’s quite loud with all the fans running, but quarantine has given me some extra time to learn more about the technology I already work with and set it up in my house.” The couple that masks together basks together, and both Walker and Laub are on the case, and cool with it. Walker purchased hers from South Street Art Mart (“a magical home to over 100 Philly area artists and makers”) and finds her face mask to be really comfortable. “It fits snug to my nose, which I’m a fan of because I don’t have to readjust it as much,” she said. Laub, on the other hand, went through a lot of masks before finding a brand called SpaceMask that suited him. “They are a lot more comfortable than other masks I’ve worn, and they are the only mask I have found so far that doesn’t completely fog up my glasses.” While the couple is both excited by the personal prospects of hugging long unseen friends and “going to a real restaurant, eating and drinking without having to get a takeout container from a delivery driver,” once the masks are “hopefully” no longer needed, they’re currently readying “Digital Bonfire” for February release and are working with the SUPERVOIDtv a visual design team on a new music video for a single they did as DECOUPLR. “We have known the people at SUPERVOID for years and finally getting to work with them on a visual project has been a blast,” said Walker. “They really are amazing at visual art and we are looking forward to sharing this video soon,” said Laub.

Capitol terrorists left shameful mark on America In response to the violent attack on the Capitol Building last Wednesday, Pennsylvania Human Relations Executive Director Chad Dion Lassiter issued the following statement: We are horrified by this disgraceful act of violence brought on by the angry mob that stormed the Capitol in an attempt to obstruct the ratification of President-elect Joe Biden. Rallied by unfounded conspiracy theories and lies, these domestic terrorists have left a

shameful mark on America that will not be quickly forgotten. We cannot continue to allow our country to be divided under the guise of hate and deceit for a moment longer. It is only in truth and unity that we can move forward together and heal as a nation. While we are wrought with disappointment, the PHRC continues its mission towards social justice for all Pennsylvania residents, fueled by this horrendous reminder that there is still much work to be done.

Appalled, upset by Capitol violence Rev. Robert Collier, Sr., president of the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and Vicinity released the following statement after the violence that unfolded in Washington, D.C., last week as lawmakers were in the process of certifying the Electoral College votes from the 2020 presidential election. I speak now on behalf of Black clergy. Just like you, I am appalled, disappointed and upset by what I saw going on at the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. Believe me, what we have seen is not a Democratic protest, but anarchy and a terrorist attack on our U.S. constitutional values. We have a president in office right now, who has encouraged and sanctioned this kind of senseless lawlessness and he has yet to offer a sincere statement of calm. He could have disbanded his cowardly stance and conceded the election as should have been the case, weeks ago. He needs to ask his followers to disband this demonstration and leave immediately. It is as simple as that. It is not about his ego. It’s about doing what is right and honoring the Constitution. We as the American people have spoken and elected the president-elect Joe Biden and the vice president-elect Kamala Harris as our next leaders of this country. Every appeal that Donald Trump and his followers launched in

the court system was overturned or denied. The fight is over. The Republicans have lost the presidency and the vice presidency. It is as simple as that. I now call on all those who seek to overthrow our Democracy to stop protesting and allow for the peaceful transfer of power. Let us work together and not against each other. We are better than this insurrection and we need to have it end peacefully. Most of all, we need to protect the lives of those who have been elected by the people to serve the people as well as all of their staff members and any others who were essentially held hostage in the Capitol building. This cannot happen again. One woman was shot and has since died. We send our condolences to her family. We pray there will be no more shootings and no more deaths. Please stop the violence and the unlawful protests. Let us show the world we are above this violence caused by our current president. Let’s replace the current hate with love. Let us replace the current lawlessness with respect for all lives. Let us join hands and make this a better country by working together in harmony. Let there be peace in the midst of the chaos. God Bless America. Amen.

Experience the Devon Difference.

Wrong is wrong: Call it out every time The nation’s eyes were drawn to the capital last week. An ardent group of Trump supporters gathered to defy Joe Biden’s electoral victory. Buoyed by the president himself, the group sought to challenge an impending congressional vote. But things took a turn for the worse. A segment of the protesting faction turned riotous, infiltrating the Capitol Building. Police struggled to contain the masses. The media were all over the case. Twitter teemed with reactions, culminating in President Trump receiving a permanent suspension. Politicians on both sides expressed shock and horror, calling on rioters to stand down. Democratic congresspersons vowed to charge Trump and others with sedition. They blamed the president and GOP for instigating the riots. The reaction from Democratic politicians and personalities raised an important question. Where was this passion over the summer? Rioters set fire to federal buildings, forcefully seized public spaces, and instigated violent encounters. While many protests were peaceful, others were not. I remember the first wave of protests following George Floyd’s death. I could barely recognize Philadelphia. City Hall was shrouded in smoke, flames glowed in the midday sun.

Small businesses were destroyed, neighborhoods lived in fear. It was impossible to buy a bottle of water; every imaginable store was boarded up from Northeast to South Philly. Across the country, dozens lost their lives, including African American police officer David Dorn. The destruction was not just “a Walmart” as some would claim. Alas, many in media and politics bit their tongues. Democratic politicians time and again failed to criticize these brazen acts of destruction, violence, and lawlessness. Many justified the actions as raw emotion or understandable fury. Destruction was justified in the name of justice. Those who called out the rioters were wrong, racist even. A recurring mantra sounded from the left: People over property. Never mind that people died in the melee. The problem with this rationale is its lack of moral clarity. Anybody can concoct a rationale for violence – including Trump supporters. Make no mistake. Last week’s assault on the Capitol was heinous. But the hypocrisy of those who failed to condemn similar aggression is palpable. We cannot turn a blind eye to anarchic riots then suddenly express outrage. Wrong is wrong. Let’s call it out all the time.

At the time, I owned a car dealership on Chestnut Street in Philadelphia. I was looking for a place to go to mass on my way into work. I found a church called St. Donato at 65th and Callowhill. locations is underway. The script is done, our production team is assembled and working, (director, producer, etc.), and we are scheduled to commence shooting in New York in the spring. The director is Alejandro Monteverde, who gained world-renown by winning the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival with his first feature film, “Bella,” a Mexican romance. The producer is Jonathan Sanger, whose films (including “The Elephant Man,” “The Producers” and “Vanilla Sky”) have received three Academy Awards and 21 Academy Award Nominations. Sanger attended University of Pennsylvania, where he was chairman of the board of The Pennsylvania Players, and president of the Performing Arts Council. We are presently interviewing actors to play the lead for Mother Cabrini. The pandemic has had an impact scheduling because we must follow strict health protocols, including scouting quarantine rules. We are working with the New York Film Commission and, following every guideline, which takes more time and planning for each aspect of production. Every time a garment is worn, it must be taken to the cleaners. It is very expensive. PW: What challenges does “Cabrini,” as an independent film, face that productions from the large studios don’t? EW: We have an advantage in that we can move faster and make decisions that big production companies are not capable of doing. Capital can be a challenge for an independent film. But the Cabrini film has the financing. Distribution is now primarily through streaming services. All the streaming companies are looking for good content. Previously, a movie had to be in the theaters for 90 days before it could go to streaming, but COVID has changed the game. Now, they have set up a “New Release” section on the websites where users can see first-run movies for a premium price. This change to the distribution model allows filmmakers to go direct to streaming. You get a much larger audience for lower cost to the filmmaker. PW: The movie is scheduled to begin filming in the spring. Can you give us a timeline in terms of finishing it and getting it to the viewing public? EW: We anticipate approximately 10 weeks of shooting, which will include eight weeks in New York and two weeks in Rome. Plus, post-production editing. We believe we can release the movie for the 2021 holiday season. PW: How can people stay up to date with or contribute to the film? EW: A website is being built where people can follow updates at www.cabrinifilm. com. We have a unique not-for-profit 501(c)(3) where donations to the film will be distributed to Missionaries Sisters of The Sacred Heart. People who wish to support the production can email contact@cabrinifilm.com or they can send a contribution directly to: Lodigiano Film Production, Inc., 700 S. Henderson Rd. With COVID restrictions about to be loosened (we hope) in the coming days, we’ve rounded up a few events – some virtual, some in-person – we think you’ll want to check out.

Around the town as the town begins to reopen Precious Places Community History Project Premiere

Neon Museum of Philadelphia

Scribe Video Center presents a premiere screening of 2020 Precious Places projects on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 7pm. Now in its 17th year, join them for the premiere of eight new films made collaboratively by community groups across Philadelphia. The films will be followed by a post-screening discussion with this year’s Precious Places groups, viewable on Scribe’s Crowdcast platform and Zoom. Register here: scribe.org/events

Despite the suffering of 2020, it has been an amazing year for the Neon Museum of Philadelphia. After 35-plus years of temporary sites, they’ve constructed a new home at NextFab (1800 North American Street, Unit E) and you are invited to join them for their Virtual New Year Grand Opening on Jan. 15 from 7pm to 8pm. Check the PW Rundown entry on our website for complete Zoom details, stay tuned for the museum’s physical grand opening later this year, and pick up a future copy of PW for a more extensive story about what the museum has to offer. Citizen’s Eye - A Kaleidoscope of Nature

How has nature been a part of your life during the pandemic? Whether in urban cityscapes, rural hideaways or private homes, for many the presence of nature has become a refuge that allows them to breathe and recharge. Join The Schuylkill Center for a virtual opening of its new exhibition “Citizen’s Eye – A Kaleidoscope of Nature,” a communal photo album featuring more than 400 images of surprising encounters with nature taken during the pandemic by Philadelphians and beyond. The opening reception will host a reflection and discussion with mythologist and social practice artist Li Sumpter Ph.D., John Heinz National Wildlife refuge manager Lamar Gore, and designer CJ Walsh, moderated by Tina Plokarz. Jan. 21 at 7pm. Registration desired, please visit www.schuylkillcenter.org.

Even though COVID restrictions might begin to go away soon, some folks will still want to enjoy themselves virtually. So we’ve rounded up some fun things to do while still at home.

Keeping it virtual – if you want to be entertained online The Doctors Blackwell Book Launch

Soraia

Penn Square, City Hall, and the Emergence of Modern Philadelphia

Resiliency Series: The Power of Changing Perspective

Presented by The Mütter Museum, “The Doctors Blackwell” is about the first female doctors in the U.S. – sisters Elizabeth and Emily Blackwell, who, in 1857, also founded the very first hospital staffed by women, the New York Infirmary for Indigent Women and Children. A section of the book is, of course, based in Philadelphia, given the city’s prominence in early (and existing!) U.S. medicine. Wednesday, Jan. 20, 6:30-7:30pm | Free | eventbrite.com

Presented by the Athenaeum of Philadelphia, join Paul Steinke, executive director of the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia, to explore the progression of William Penn’s original Centre Square and its surroundings into the administrative, civic and emotional heart of modern Philadelphia. Zoom information will be sent the day of the event to the email address provided during registration. Tuesday, Jan. 26, 6-7pm | Free | eventbrite.com

JANUARY 14 - 21, 2021 | PHILADELPHIA WEEKLY

To celebrate the release of their new single, “TightLipped,” Philly rockers Soraia will play a special event to be live-streamed from The Bowery Electric on Jan. 15 at 8pm. Tickets are available at https:// bit.ly/35gjysC and are also good for “on-demand” viewing through Jan. 22. A percentage of ticket sales will support #SaveOurStages to bring relief to independent venues impacted by the pandemic. And be sure to check out a future edition of PW for an interview with the band.

Presented by The Health Federation of Philadelphia, “The Power of Changing Perspective” is the third in a series of six different sessions on Resilience by Rebecca Bryan, DNP. Sometimes it feels like the whole world is holding its breath, waiting for “normal” to return. What if we shift our perspective from waiting to living? Changing perspective is an important (and free!) tool in the resilience toolbox. During this workshop, we will explore different perspectives and help you find one that works for you. Virtual game/movie night

Missing out on good old human interaction? If you don’t want to gather with friends in person, gather with them virtually. Watch a movie “together” while chatting online. Or set up a game night, with everybody playing the same game at the same time. Or just set a special game or movie night for your immediate family.

It’s winter, so the weather likely won’t be the best over the coming weeks. And then there’s the whole COVID thing. So, until Mother Nature and (we hope) the vaccination program catch up, you might be looking for a few things to do. We’ve got you covered.

Here’s what to do if you’re hunkering down for the winter Volunteer

Lots of people and organizations need a helping hand – and that can be you. Grab a few extra items at the grocery store and drop them off at a food pantry, or box them up and send them to our troops overseas. Host a food drive. Sign up to help at a mental health line. There are lots of ways you can do good right now.

Clean/donate/sell

Here’s an idea that’s a winner all around. Take this time to clean out your closets, attic basement, etc. Chances are you have stuff that’s just taking up space. Gather it, donate it, or, if you’re short on cash, sell it online. You get less clutter at home, worthwhile groups get some much-needed items, and/or you get paid.

Take a virtual trip

Now is the perfect time to “visit” all of the places around the world you’ve always wanted to see. OK, maybe not in person, but Al Gore invented the internet precisely for times like these. Spend a day surfing the web and checking out the sites of Europe, Asia – wherever you want. It’s cheaper and safer than hopping on a plane these days.

Make a plan

Things might look bleak now, but, eventually, life will get back to at least more normal. It’s time to start thinking about the places you will go and the people you will see (our apologies to Dr. Seuss). Make a list and plan your life once all of the misery passes.

If you stumbled upon their pages at random in the sea of boobs and butts, that would be legitimately impressive. As for your partner, I think you’ll need to conduct a similar survey to the one I did, except it will be of your partner and you’ll be asking how they feel about it. Maybe it’ll feel awkward and the two of you can talk through what that means for you, what boundaries will make you both feel good. If your partner is also sex positive and feels confident in your relationship to discuss issues, there’s a good chance they’ll be glad that you are supporting their friends. As a bit of an aside: It’s worth noting that there are legitimate objections to the OnlyFans business model. Compared to some other sites, they take a larger cut from performers and they don’t do much to battle content being stolen and reposted elsewhere. It might be worth asking your friends if there is a more direct way to purchase videos and images and cut out the middleman entirely. In general, I think it would be polite to ask your friends ahead of time – just in case. If they say no, drop it and don’t be weird. If they say yes, then support away and enjoy the sensation of getting turned on, knowing that your porn was raised and harvested ethically. Have a question for Timaree? Send an email to asktimaree@philadelphiaweekly.com.

“While there are likely content creators for whom the idea of a buddy seeing their butthole might feel uncomfortable, a very real part of entering this line of work is reckoning with the question ‘what if someone I know sees this?’”
