Top Studying Tips

“

The teachers were highly competent, very interested in their subjects and really could teach us things, and were willing to try different methods in order to enhance our learning experience. And it worked! - Lika Diouf, 2009 summer course student

We asked a few of our tutors what their top studying tips are. See what two of them have to say:

Naomi Weinberg UCL (UK) My main strategy has always been to plan my time well and to not give up too much of my social life. I work much better if I know I have something else to look forward to when I’m done.

Tutor

Why did you decide to tutor with RCEA? I find teaching extremely rewarding. The confidence you get from presenting your material to students is invaluable. The fact that students appreciate what you do is invaluable. Also, it is a great way of making new friends.

Social Staff

Having tutored for four years, I know how important the balance between learning and enjoying yourself is. Making sure that balance exists, and that students always have a great time, is what I do at the summer courses – and it’s the best job in the world.

It’s wonderful! As an ex-student, it’s so interesting to see how syllabi are changing to better reflect current events, like in History and Biology. On a personal level, it’s very satisfying to be able to discuss with current students their difficulties and aspirations, and helping them to get the best out of the IB, and themselves.

We hang out, do sports, watch movies, do all sorts of random enjoyable stuff.
