Carmelo Feliciano Elementary School - Culebra (2003-06): The 1st Public Ecoschool for the Public Buildings Authority. This very successful prototype includes natural ventilation and day lighting of all spaces, rain water harvesting, reuse of gray waters, solar water heating. Photovoltaics provide 30% of the school’s energy needs.
BrightShade Eco Window (2014): The design evolution of the tropical jalousie window Patented by A&M (Patent No: US 8,820,010 B2) in conjunction with Valcor Windows. It includes built in shading trays that protect the glass jalousies. When closed the trays act as a storm shutter. Sustainability Master Plan for Plaza Las Americas (2008): Prepared for the largest, most successful shopping mall in the Caribbean. A rainwater harvesting system will cover 100% of it’s water requirements.
AT&T Building, Santurce, PR (1998): A 24,000 SF state of the art facility allowing it’s manager to access all infrastructure systems (security cameras, temperature, humidity, fire, smoke and flooding monitoring) through an intelligent phone. The building blends with its residential neighborhood in the heart of Miramar.
DB Office Building - Bayamón, PR (1993-95): A 30,000 SF office building that incorporates passive, energy conserving strategies that resulted in savings of more than 20% compared to typical buildings of this type.
