A Message from Our Board President & Executive Director he past year at Harmony Hall Centre for Seniors was truly a year of transition and progress. But most of all it was another great year of collaboration with our service-users and other community partners to work toward our mission of empowering and connecting seniors. We had several notable accomplishments during the year. The first included work with Gower Park Place and Foodshare to create a mobile food market in our neighbourhood. Open every Wednesday afternoon, the Market provides access to fresh, affordable fruits and vegetables. A second achievement occurred thanks to the hard work of our Board, service-uses and staff. We were triumphant in increasing our internal fundraising! Via the Toronto Challenge we raised more than $7,000 to support our transportation program. On a sadder note we also said goodbye this year to two valuable board members. We would like to thank Fuad Chowdbury and Edmund Wong for their contribution to the Agency. Finally, we have started a transition that will allow our Agency to change and grow to better meet the needs of service-users. Last fall our Board of Directors made a decision to explore the possibility of a merger. Essentially Harmony Hall has decided to start dating! Our basis for this decision was a need to expand services for our users, find additional operating efficiencies and create a more sophisticated back office. We are in the process of seeking a suitable partner and will continue to share regular updates as information becomes available.
