@Pollito_Malo

Dear Readers,

As I sit down to write this introductory article for our first-ever issue of Revved Up Riders Magazine, I am reminded of the winding journey that has brought me to this point. Like many of you, I have experienced "toxic relationships" that left me feeling broken and questioning my ability to choose the right partner. But through it all, I have discovered an inner strength and resilience that has carried me forward, even in the face of adversity. As a young child, I held onto the dream of finding a perfect partner who would sweep me off my feet and fulfill my longing for connection and companionship. My 3rd-grade list of qualities for “A Perfect Man” is a list I still have until today, yet now seems so naive. How could a child in the 3rd grade possibly understand the depths of what makes a perfect partner? Over the years, I have endured unimaginable hardships and challenges in my romantic relationships. The struggles I have faced, far beyond those typically documented in magazines or on social media, have shaped me in ways I never could have anticipated. Kidnapping, gun violence, physical and mental abuse, infidelity to an extreme unlike most have experienced, and financial ruin …these things are only briefly explaining what I have been through, all being part of my journey that lands me here with you right in this very moment reading my very own words. through it all, I have learned one vital lesson: the true source of strength and happiness lies within ourselves and not within a partner or a relationship we build with a partner. I also realized that my material possessions and financial stability were fleeting and ultimately unimportant compared to the unwavering belief in my own worth and resilience.

This realization led me to a place of profound gratitude for everything in my life, big and small and despite whether it was still in my life or not. Whether it’ is a cherished possession or the people I am fortunate to have by my side, I have learned to appreciate every moment and every connection. Time has continued to move forward, and despite the setbacks, I am still working to where I should be in life but have managed to rebuild this life of my own from scratch. A pivotal moment in time came when I decided it was time to invest in my own source of transportation. Unable to afford a new car, I made the conscious decision to purchase a used motorcycle. Not only did this make financial sense, but it also held deep personal significance. It was a way of honoring my late father, who had always believed in my ability to ride a motorcycle. With each ride, I felt a sense of independence and empowerment that sparked a passion for doing things on my own terms. So, my riding was before the time of live streaming or uploading 360-degree footage and content creation for social media and online engagement, when I rode, the roads were lacking 2 wheeled vehicles. Riding and coming across another rider were golden rarities still. Now, you can ride anytime of the day at any day of the week and come across various riders, half sporting an invisible stick for their 360 cameras and/or a mount on their bikes for a GoPro camera. The days of motorcycle rarity has become a thing of the past, it seems but as for riders and motorcycles, the more the merrier for me! Ultimately, the point I want to share is that This magazine represents my attempt to share, promote, and celebrate the world of motorcycles. Through these pages, I hope to connect with fellow riders and showcase their stories and experiences. I believe that each person's journey with motorcycles holds meaning and serves as a testament to the power of self-discovery and empowerment. Although with such a task, I cannot do it alone. I need you, the reader, to support this publication by sharing it everywhere you can and help me find these remarkable riders and their stories. By reading and sharing each issue, you become an integral part of our community, ensuring that these stories continue to be told for years to come. I am honored that you have taken the time to read this article and dig into this Magazine. It is my hope that this marks the beginning of a long and meaningful relationship—for both you as readers and for me as the publisher. Together, let's embark on a journey of discovery, inspiration, and the celebration of all things motorcycles.

What inspired you to start riding motorcycles? I’ve been riding motorcycles since I was about 17 years old. Inspiration to ride started out from reading Ghost Rider comics and seeing people ride on the streets. How important is safety gear and proper training for motorcycle riders? Safety gear and proper training is the most important thing for riders, in my opinion. Have fun but always be safe. Any advice for those interested in learning to ride? For those that are training to ride: make sure you take safety and safety gear seriously! What are the top destinations you recommend for motorcycle enthusiasts and why? I recommend Hoover dam and Red Rock Canyon. Those are 2 of the places we ride to out here in Las Vegas.

Do you have a favorite motorcycle brand or model? If so, what sets it apart for you? My favorite bike is my Riker 900 because it’s new, it’s fresh and it’s just cool to have in the motorcycle world. It has no gears; you just crank it up and ride out.

How do you balance your passion for motorcycles with other aspects of your life, such as work or family? Any chance I get to hop on and peel out, believe me I do!

Do you prefer a partner to ride as well, or does it not matter? It is always better to ride with a partner so I can have someone watch the bikes if one goes into the store or wherever our destination might be. You have got to have someone watching over your back!

How active are you on social media with your riding? I’m not as active on my social media with my riding as I want to be, I want to do more which is why I’m here answering these questions, this is my start!

How do you balance between sharing your personal experiences on social media as a rider while not compromising your privacy and safety? For the most part I don’t do live streams on social media platforms, at least not yet! I’ll just record and post things up later. I’m not too concerned as some might be.

What message do you try to send out using your social media presence? The message I consistently try to send out is always strictly positive vibes, I haven’t gotten around to sharing as much as I want to of my #bikerlife side because most of the time I’m working and mainly promoting my new music.

TikTok’s Featured Rider @Pollito_Malo By: Louise Conley

Introducing TikTok’s @Pollito_Malo An emerging sensation in the motorcycle community. With his captivating personality and love for motorcycles, Pollito_Malo exudes a natural charisma and enthusiasm that is bound to leave a lasting impression. Join us as we delve into their inspiring story, uncovering the passion and thrill that has garnered one of TikTok’s uprising masked riders. Unfortunately, no face reveal for you readers today!!

What inspired you to start riding motorcycles? Well, what first got me into motorcycles was one of my neighbors. I'll never forget the bike; it was a yellow GSXR-750. I was maybe 13 or 14 years old at the time and he'd let me go out and ride with him and his friends every now and then.

How important is safety gear and proper training for motorcycle riders? Gear should always be a priority. No matter how experienced you are as a rider. Always have the proper gear. And as far as a safety or training class, I highly recommend it. There are things you learn that you wouldn't learn from everyday riding.

Any advice for those interested in learning to ride? Yes! Take your time and learn your bike slowly. Don't let the hype get to you because bikes are most certainly unforgiving. Learn how to control your bike before making a jump to a bigger bike. Always be on your toes when it comes to awareness. And gear. Always wear gear. Do you have a favorite motorcycle brand or model? If so, what sets it apart for you?

My favorite motorcycle and my dream bike is the Honda CBR1000RR-R. One of my first bikes was the Honda CBR600RR and I love the way it handled; it was by far the most comfortable of street bikes I've ridden.

Do you prefer a partner to ride as well, or does it not matter? It doesn't matter honestly but it would be a lot better if my partner rode her own.

What message do you try to send out using your social media presence? Well, it's not for the younger audience. But I try to just vibe with the day or the song at the moment.

How do you balance between sharing your personal experiences on social media as a rider while not compromising your privacy and safety? I try not to share too much of where I live or my face. I try to keep my private life separate.

Are there any social media influencers or riders you look up to or admire? How have they impacted your own online presence as a rider? One of my close friends (fiorar1), he influenced me to give it a shot.

Any cool or interesting stories to share that you've experienced through social media? I think the coolest experience I’ve had was the first time I was recognized on the street. I think that’s forever going to keep me pushing to continue being an influencer.

Have you ever used social media to organize or participate in group rides or charity events and how did social media help facilitate these initiatives? It helped to organize a charity event for a close family member that passed away, but it wasn’t all my idea I had the help from another crew (shout out to Talk To Me Nice for helping out) and my sister, who had a big part in helping us gather more people to help with the charity event.

Ensuring Peak Performance and Safety

ABC Motorcycle Maintenance: Ensuring Peak Performance and Safety By: Louise Conley Owning a motorcycle involves more than just experiencing the thrill of the ride—it requires a commitment to maintaining your prized machine in optimal condition. Regular upkeep is not only crucial for maximum performance but also for safety on the road. Whether you're a novice or an experienced rider, it's important to understand the fundamentals of motorcycle maintenance in order to enjoy many trouble-free miles. Read the following to make sure you are aware of the core principles and discover the key strategies for keeping your motorcycle running like a dream. 12

A - Air Filter The air filter acts as your motorcycle's lungs, filtering out dirt, debris, and insects from entering the engine. It's essential to inspect and clean the air filter regularly, adhering to the manufacturer's guidelines for proper airflow and safeguarding your engine from potential harm.

B – Battery Powering your motorcycle's electrical systems, the battery is a critical component for a smooth journey. Monitor the battery's charge level and use a smart charger when needed to maintain an optimal charge. Additionally, routinely check for any signs of corrosion on the terminals and clean them if necessary. 13

C – Chain: The chain serves as the vital link between your engine and rear wheel, propelling you forward. Regularly examine the chain for proper tension and lubrication. Adjustments to achieve the right tension, along with using quality chain lubricant, will extend its lifespan and prevent excessive wear.

D – Drivetrain: Comprising the transmission, clutch, and final drive components, the drivetrain plays a key role in your motorcycle's performance. Regularly inspect your transmission oil levels, monitor clutch cable tension or hydraulic fluid, and ensure the proper functioning and lubrication of final drive components. 14

E – Engine Oil:

Engine oil serves as the lifeblood of your motorcycle, providing lubrication and cooling to keep the engine running smoothly and efficiently. Consistently check the oil level and change it according to the manufacturer's recommendations to optimize performance.

F – Fuel System:

Maintaining a clean and efficient fuel system is essential for your motorcycle's overall operation. Utilize highquality fuel and additives, regularly inspect and clean the fuel filter, check for leaks, and ensure proper fuel flow for peak engine performance.

15

G – Ground Clearance: Your motorcycle's ground clearance affects its handling and safety. Regularly monitor the clearance and, if necessary, adjust suspension settings as recommended by the manufacturer to ensure optimal handling and prevent damage to the undercarriage.

H – Hoses and Belts: Thoroughly inspect all hoses and belts, looking for signs of cracking, wear, or leaks. Replace any damaged components promptly to avoid potential failures and costly repairs.

16

I – Ignition System:

The ignition system is responsible for starting your motorcycle and delivering a consistent spark. Regularly check the spark plugs, ignition cables, and coils for wear or damage. Adhere to the manufacturer's guidelines for spark plug replacement intervals.

J – Joints and Bearings: Your motorcycle relies on various joints and bearings that require regular lubrication. Periodically inspect and apply appropriate lubricants to ensure smooth operation and prevent premature wear.

Revved Up Riders’ Monthly Question By: Louise Conley

We asked TikTok users: “Are you a masked rider and why does one choose to be a masked rider ?” “No, I'm not a masked rider and to intrigue people to keep them watching.”

@robertrowse8

“Yes (no face, no case) and because they are probably ugly.”

@wheelie.wonkaa

“I am not a mask rider and like in case we do certain type of riding that might be illegal in certain areas.”

@a4zx6r

“For the most part I am. Being a masked rider aside from privacy i feel helps keep our identity a bit safer because not everyone’s police force is as lenient as others. Some task forces will take to social media asking for the identity of the rider while others just simply don’t care and think it’s cool. Also, for some reason it helps you attract followers because I feel like people see it as mysterious and a lot of people want to know what that rider looks like whether it’s because they are attracted and have a fantasy or it’s because they are just curious. Plus, it keeps our faces and necks warm in colder weathers.”

@missmoonstunts

“I’m not a masked rider. I don’t mind people knowing who I am. I think some people just don’t like showing their faces. They just like to remain anonymous. They don’t want random people knowing who they are only their close friends.”

@emily_z900

“No, I’m not a masked rider I think some of them don’t even have bikes and are just pretending to be riders just to get followers and the ones that do ride I don’t see why there wearing their helmets inside lol maybe they’re accident prone or they be watching to many Max Wrist videos ”

@busarich2121

” Yes, of course I am. Some riders might choose to remain masked on social media for reasons other than privacy, such as maintaining a certain mystique or persona, protecting their identity for professional reasons (like sponsorship deals or career prospects), or simply because they find it aesthetically appealing or intriguing. Additionally, wearing a mask can also serve as a branding element or a way to stand out in a crowded social media landscape.”

@blackfox1980

“No, I am not masked. I want to show people I am a woman and hopefully inspire other women, and maybe even men, who are intimidated by motorcycles to learn. I feel like most people who are masked online are doing so for their jobs or maybe they don’t have a supportive circle. Understandable, and I support their choice. Does not make a difference to me as long as the content is on point. On the other hand, some stay masked so they can do dangerous things on bikes that put themselves and others at risk. I don’t support, follow, or even comment on content that makes the majority of the biker community look bad. I know who my motorcycle people are and that’s who I interact with and support.”

@bluebirdbikerchick

“Yea I am and for me personally it helps with my appearance insecurity. And for others I can think of they are maybe in a relationship and don’t want to be bothered.”

@calyps0_jynx

I only mask in the cold. Riders definitely mask for privacy, but I only know one or two people who ride with masks all year round. Those two people have bad allergies and are trying to make sure dust and pollen don’t get in their faces. The ones you see on here (TikTok) are just trying to look cute without showing their identity.”

@hdheritage21

“Of course. I wear a full-face helmet. I keep closed-up due to people flicking their cigarettes out of their car windows, rocks, grass from lawn trucks etc. and I’m sure other riders do the same. Oh yeah, big ass potato bugs hurt like a MF. ] “Most riders just want to ride. Well, there’s the other ones that do crazy sh#t. They usually have the helmet-mount Go Pro, and a hidden (license) plate near the wheel… I doubt it’s for retaining healthy skin.”
