Stunning Transformations on Show at the Annual Parade of Renovated Homes
T
his year the annual Parade of Renovated Homes, presented by the Greater Vancouver Home Builders’ Association (GVHBA), will showcase 11 exquisitely renovated homes on Sunday, May 31 from 10am to 4pm. The 2015 parade offers a wide variety of dream renovations across Metro Vancouver. They are: • a beautiful Vancouver West Side heritage-style character property, expertly repaired and renovated by Abstract Homes; • a whole-house transformation and second-floor addition by CCI Renovations that makes the most of spectacular North Vancouver scenery; • a 1911 Shaughnessy heritage home that was physically lifted to create a proper basement, while maintaining the heritage character of the home, by Kerr Construction; • a contemporary New Westminster renovation by Klondike Contracting that allowed a young family to grow into their space rather than have to move house; • a super-stylish Coquitlam whole-house renovation by My House Design-Build, which includes a super-stylish kitchen, glass roofing and a vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom; • an internal and external home transformation in East Vancouver’s Trout Lake

neighbourhood, with an added second storey, by Ronse Massey Developments; • a glamorous Burnaby kitchen renovation by TQ Construction, including a James Bond-style bar hidden in the high-contrast cabinetry; • a complete Yaletown townhome renovation, also by TQ Construction, including a two-sided central fireplace column in the master bedroom; • a Port Coquitlam home that was given a new open plan with French doors onto a sun-drenched deck, by Tuscan Developments; • a Coquitlam home’s basement that has been turned into a fabulously light, bright and livable space, also by Tuscan Developments; and • a chic Burnaby kitchen renovation, in which the team at Tuscan Developments removed interior walls and added windows and French doors. What’s more, the GVHBA RenoMark renovators who transformed these homes will be on site to offer expert advice and showcase their craftsmanship. “Whether your dreams include a complete home renovation or a single room redesign, it is important to work with a renovator you can trust,” said Bob de Wit, CEO of GVHBA. “Working with a RenoMark professional helps the homeowner turn the dream into reality with informed decisions,

confidence and peace of mind. Bring the family and join the parade!” Admission to the homes is by passport, available at each home for $10 per person (children 17 and under are free). Passports can be purchased on the door at any home, and then used for entry to the remaining homes. A portion of the proceeds from
passport sales will help fund the purchase of tools, building materials and safety gear for a carpentry training program offered by Guildford Park and Frank Hurt secondary schools in Surrey. There’s a lot to cover in six hours, so make sure to plan your personal parade before heading out. Go to www.gvhba.org for map and locations, before-and-after pictures and renovator details.
