Richmond Realtors Continue Big-Hearted Holiday Tradition
F
or the ninth year in a row, local Realtors have come together to support the Richmond Christmas Fund, a program that assists low-income families during the holidays. Their $11,600 donation couldn’t be more timely, as the Christmas Fund is in the midst of its busiest season ever. “We’ve already served well over 1,500 people, and that number will grow much higher,”
says Christmas Fund Co-Chair Wayne Duzita. “We’re extremely grateful to Richmond’s real estate professionals for supporting our work, and helping us meet a significant community need.” The campaign, known as the Realtor Challenge, was started by Patti Martin in 2011, and since then, has generated over $90,000.
“The holiday season is a special time of year, and we want to ensure that every one of our neighbours in need can celebrate with a warm meal and gifts under the tree.” Dozens of real estate professionals participated in the 2019 campaign, including the following major donors, who
each gave $500: Patti Martin, Raman Kooner & Ajit Thaliwal, Alisa Sakamoto, Austin Kay & Anita Chan, Carl Chu, Lynda & Macey Terborg, Patsy Hui, Perry Hoogveld, Shafik Ladha, Gord Pipkey, Chris Stylianou, Juliette Zhang, Dixie Tang, Kathy Xu, and Sean Lawson.
“We’re proud to give back to our community,” says Martin.
